Chapter 272
The First Heir
Philip turned and spared Chase Fisher a glance before he replied, âIf youâd excuse me, Iâm running
against time. My wifeâs waiting for me at the hospital.â
Pfft!
Everyone else fainted again!
This dude was unnecessarily pretentious!
How could he just brush Chase Fisher off like he was nothing?
Did he not know who Chase Fisher was?
He was the vice president of the National Association Of Car Racing!
He was one of the countryâs best racers too!
Yet to Philip Clarke, racing was just a game to play.
âIf you like it, you can have it.â
Everyone might throttle him should they know of Philipâs current thoughts.
Being a racer was the dream career of many young males!
Instead of being irked by Philipâs attitude, Chase smiled even friendlier at him. âShould you have any
free time in the future, Mr. Clarke, youâre always welcome to drop by. This is my name card.â
Not rejecting him this time, Philip took the card from Chase and stuffed it into the pocket of his pants.
Then, he turned to holler at Melody, âBye.â
Melodyâs eyes sparkled as she pondered over the love-hate feelings she had for Philip.
She had fallen in love with how attractive this man was!
He stood out from the rest!
It explained why her father kept praising how different and special he was as well as how he was
adamant not to offend him.
What she hated, was that despite being a man of such caliber, why did he feel the need to hide it
away?
Under the envious gaze of everyone else, Philip drove away in Finn Geraldâs red Ferrari.
Only after watching Philip drive away did the weight on Finnâs chest lift.
He turned to ask Chase, âWhoâs that, Uncle Chase?â
Finn had yet to be acquainted with Philipâs true identity, but he found himself completely impressed by
the otherâs skills.
Those were the skills of a world-class racer.
Why did he seem so common, though?
Chase squinted and patted Finn on his shoulder. âYouâre curious, arenât you? Thatâs too bad then, since
Iâd like to know too. It has been seven years of a mystery, but all I can say is that this is no ordinary
man. Youâd do well to study from him if you have the chance. Who knows, you might even learn a skill
or two. If so, the victoryâs basically yours in the race for the second half of the year.â
Hearing him, Finnâs heart pulsed in excitement. Watching the silhouette of the car as it drove down the
mountain, he muttered to himself, âThat impressive, huh?â
Chase smiled. âI donât know about worldwide, but as far as Iâm concerned, there has yet to be a match
for him.â
Chase could not help but shake his head. He was a little wistful.
For a man with his abilities, why would he ever present himself as the underdog?
Not to mention, why had he vanished from the face of the earth for seven years after numerous
legendary deeds?
However, Finn had already made up his mind. He was going to be Philipâs disciple!
Back to Philipâs point of view. After leaving Melody Zander, he drove his way to the hospital.
Hitting the brakes at the entrance, he got out of the car with a princess figurine in his hands.
Wynn was not free, so it fell on Philip to spend time with Mila.
Seeing the figurine, Mila was elated. She made grabby hands at the figurine but instead of giving in,
Philip held it just out of reach and placed it somewhere else before turning to her. âThisâll be Mommy for
now, Mila. On days that sheâs too busy with work, this princess here will watch over you in her place,
okay?â
Mila laid understandingly on the hospital bed and nodded, a sweet smile tugging at the corners of her
lips.
Philip gave her a peck on her forehead before walking out of the hospital room.
Reaching the car park, he was met with the sight of quite a few fashionably dressed women taking
pictures of the Ferrari.
The thing was, he could actually recognize two of them.
âYolanda Lee and Jane Snyder.
âSeriously, both of youâ¦â
After mulling over it, Philip found that he was not in a rush. It would not hurt to let them take their
pictures.
Unfortunately for Yolandaâs pair of sharp eyes, she easily found Philip watching the group of them from
a distance. Her disdain flared.
Jane was no stranger to Philip either. She immediately began to tell the tale of Philip Clarkeâs
ostentatious behavior at Arc de Triumph to the other two girls.
Sure, Philip had given Yolanda a helping hand last time, but they all collectively agreed that it was
merely an act out of obligation as they were friends.
After all, Philip had wasted three years of his life.
âWhat are you looking at, Philip Clarke? What, youâre going to tell me this is your car now?â
Yolanda strutted over and crossed her arms under her chest with an expression of belittling mockery.
Philip quirked an eyebrow as his gaze fell unintentionally on the jade piece by her collar. It did not seem
too small.
Unease crept up on Yolanda at Philipâs scrutinizing gaze. She scoffed. âThe f*ck are you smiling at? Do
you think you have the right to laugh at me? Is this your f*cking car?â
Yolanda was pissed under the pretense that she believed Philip was laughing at her for taking pictures
with a luxury vehicle.
She most certainly could not buy herself one, so was Philip here to laugh at how fake she was?
âHow do you know the carâs not mine?â Philip asked calmly, though the corner of his lips betrayed him
as a tinge of a smirk appeared on his face.
Yolanda had come to him to borrow money not too long ago. She even flirted with him.
He still had her nude pictures with him.
Philip was almost tempted to fish them out in front of her, curious about how Yolanda would react.
Yolanda and her gang of friends covered their mouths as they burst into laughter. âWhy donât you look
at yourself first? As if you have the right to drive a car like this.â
In return, Philip brushed past them without another word and slowly made his way to the Ferrariâ¦
