Chapter 1976
The First Heir
While thinking, Martha hurried out of the room and ran to Wynn and Philipâs room.
To be honest, Martha was very envious when she saw the highest-class suite that Wynn and Philip
stayed in. However, she did not say anything but knocked on the door and whispered, âPhilip, Wynnie,
are you up yet?â
At this moment, Philip heard the knock on the door, raised his brows, and sneered, âYour mother is
here again.â
Wynn was also very helpless. Her mother had never been so enthusiastic and polite before. She said,
âSheâs just like that. Philip, promise me that as long as my mother doesnât go too overboard, you wonât
take her too personally.â
Philip gently patted Wynnâs small hand and said, âDonât worry. I know what to do.â
After saying that, he walked over and opened the room door. He saw Martha with a face full of smiles
as she scurried in and said, âPhilip, let me ask you, is your familyâs home really on this island?â
Philip hummed in agreement. Martha held her chest excitedly and gasped. She quickly smiled, pulled
Philip, and said, âOh, my good son-in-law, why didnât you tell me before that your home is in such a
place?â
Philip snorted and said, âDidnât you say that my home is a dog kennel in a remote countryside?â
Martha knew that she had said something silly and slapped her face lightly while saying, âI was wrong.
Itâs all nonsense.â
Philip could not be bothered with her and asked coldly, âTell me what you want â
Martha quickly walked to Wynn, took Wynnâs hand, and put it in Philipâs hand while saying, âItâs nothing.
I just hope that you and my daughter will have a good relationship forever.â
Wynn and Philip looked at each other, feeling helpless.
âMom, thatâs enough. Youâre full of flattery right from the moment you walk in the door. Philip is not an
outsider. Donât you know his character by now?â
Wynn grumbled a little. Her mother was really willing to lower her stature for money. It was too
embarrassing. However, Martha did not think so. After saying a few more words, she swayed her big
hips and left happily.

Back to Connor Clarke and the other two. At this moment, they were locked in the cargo hold in the
basement of the cruise ship.
âOutrageous! Damn Philip! How dare he treat me this way?! Iâm the former Chieftain of the branch
family!â
Connor was sitting on a bag of flour, his head full of silver hair. He looked disheveled, and his cane was
creaking in his hand. Levi and Allen also sat on the side with faces full of anger.
Too hateful!
They were members of the Clarke family but Philip actually locked them up in this warehouse. It was
smelly and dark in there.
For a pampered young master like Levi, it was simply hellish torture.
âGrandpa, what should we do? Weâre almost there. Are we going to just sit here and wait to die?â
Levi looked very miserable now. If word of this spread out, he would surely be a laughing stock. He
hated this.
âHow is it? Havenât you gotten through yet? Weâve almost reached the island. What happened to those
people you arranged?â At this moment, Connor asked Allen coldly.
Allen also looked wretched as he kept dialing the phone. He said anxiously, âConnor, I donât know
whatâs going on. I just canât get in touch with them. Could it be that because weâre locked up in here,
thereâs no signal?â
âUseless piece of trash!â
Connor immediately cursed when he heard this.
