Chapter 1936
The First Heir
Shane stared at Philip coldly. There seemed to be a special magnetic field and resistance between the
two.
At first glance, they looked like mortal enemies.
âThe heir of the Clarke family is very different, indeed. Your body contains that exciting and delightful
smell. I really kind of canât help but want to take you away, torture you slowly, and make you my test
subject.â
Shaneâs face was full of intoxication, and his eyes were slightly narrowed as if he was fantasizing about
something very exciting. âA superb experimental subject like you will surely transcend the times and
shock many people.â
Philip frowned as he stared at Shane, completely unable to figure out what he was talking about.
âDo you have golden blood?â Philip asked coldly.
Shane raised his eyebrows and said, âYes, what about it?â
Philipâs eyes were cold as he asked, âWhat are your conditions?â
Shane smiled and thought for a moment. He looked at Mila who was clutching at Philipâs pants,
squatted down, and reached out to touch Milaâs head.
However, Mila seemed very resistant to this strange man in front of her and hid behind Philipâs legs.
Her fair and chubby arms held Philipâs legs tightly.
Philipâs face also darkened as he shielded Mila behind him.
Shane chuckled lightly and got up. He looked at Philip very seriously and said, âThereâs one condition
but I havenât thought of it yet. Iâll contact you again when I think of it. How about it?â
Philip frowned as he thought about it and replied, âOkayâ¦â
Shane laughed as he glanced at Mila hiding behind Philip again and said, âItâs a pity that sheâs a
variant. I look forward to you coming of age.â
After that, Shane stepped forward, said something to the nurse, and went inside.
Outside the operating room, Philipâs face was very unpleasant. He looked at the timid Mila by his legs
and kept thinking about what Shane just said.
âVariant?â
âWhat did that mean?â
âWas there something wrong with Mila?â
Mila also looked up at Philip with her big bright eyes and said in her kiddish voice, âDad, Iâm scared.
That man just now looks like the devil.â
Philip knelt and stroked Milaâs head. Then, he asked Lydia to take care of her for a while.
While thinking about it, he dialed Fennelâs number. Fennel was no longer in Uppercreek. He had left at
night, saying that he had to deal with something, but he did not give any specifics.
The call went through and it was a little noisy on the other end. All kinds of unintelligible languages
could be heard, and they seemed to be celebrating something.
âWhere are you?â Philip asked.
On the other end of the phone, Fennel shouted, âIâm in Las Vegas. Whatâs up?â
Philip stepped aside and asked, âWhat do you know about the golden blood and the Lovelace family?â
Fennel was taken aback for a moment before he asked, âDo you know the Lovelace family?â
As soon as Philip heard Fennelâs tone, he realized that this Lovelace family was not that simple.
âWynnie and I went for a pregnancy checkup this morning and met with a murder attempt. Wynnie went
into premature labor and suffered from heavy blood loss. She was tested to have golden blood. Sheâs
not the biological daughter of Charles Johnston and Martha Yates, but the surviving orphan of the
Lovelace family who defected from the country more than 20 years ago. Now, sheâs in urgent need of
golden blood and a guy named Shane Lovelace is hereâ¦â
Philip described the details of the events briefly before asking, âHow much do you know about the
Lovelace family? Who is this Shane Lovelace?â
