That underling grunted before saying, “T-That’s not impossible. We didn’t do it anyway. At most, we

“You… Are you talking out of your *ss now?” Angus was furious as he went up and kicked him again.

Then, he said to his remaining underlings, “This doesn’t seem right. Too many patrol officers have been

dispatched. Now, we’re even on TV and the reward is so high. I suspect that this incident is being

manipulated by someone. They’re likely trying to accuse us with other charges and make us the

scapegoats.”

“Angus, you mean…” his underlings looked bewildered and could not figure out what Angus meant.

“Damn it, are you really that brainless? We’re on the wanted list and the reward for catching us is so

high! We were just accomplices, so why is the reward so high? Something else must have happened

and they’re trying to find people to take the blame. We’re taking the blame for others!”

Angus was exasperated. Why were his minions more brainless than the other?

“But Angus, only the assault in that hotel was mentioned on the TV just now. Nothing else was

mentioned,” one underling said dubiously.

Angus smacked the kid on the head and cursed, “Don’t refute my words! I’m saying that’s how it is! Use

your brains and think about it. Could Heath kick up such a big fuss? Or Master Bell? Do they have this

ability? Someone higher up must be manipulating all this. The aim is to capture us to take the fall. So,

we must hide, wait for things to die down a little, and leave Uppercreek quickly.”

“Yes, Angus is right!”

His underlings realized the situation and nodded, thinking that Angus’ explanation made sense.

“In that case, what should we do now? Turn ourselves in? At the most, we’ll be charged with being

accomplices. After all, Hector was the one who did it. We have nothing to do with it,” an underling

suddenly said.
