Chapter 1649
The First Heir
Wynn raised her eyebrows, looked at Philip, and said with a faint smile, âNo. If you want to tell me, Iâm
willing to listen. If you donâ t want to, then donât. Iâll wait for the day youâre willing to tell me.â
Philip was taken aback. He looked at Wynn and watched as she played with Mila with her bulging
stomach. A strong feeling suddenly surged in his heart.
He walked over, hugged Wynn from behind, and leaned on her shoulder while saying, âWynnie, one
day youâll know that your husband is not a wastrel. On that day, youâll be the happiest woman in the
world. This is what I promise you.â
Wynn smiled, her small fair hand grasping Philipâs big hand. She said tenderly, âI know. All along, Iâve
known in my heart youâre not what they say. Iâve been waiting, hoping that this day will come soon. In
fact, even if youâre really worthless, youâre still my husband and Milaâs father, do you understand?â
Philip nodded and said, âI understand.â
After being intimate for a while, Philip took Wynn and Hazel out for dinner at a high-end restaurant
nearby.
That night, Hazel went back.
Philip did not ask her to stay since he knew that she was busy with a lot of family affairs at home. It was
already after eight when they returned to the hotel suite.
As soon as they entered the door, they saw Charles and Martha waiting in the room.
âPhilip, where did you take my daughter again? Donât you know that sheâs very weak now? Why are
you still running around with her? If something happens, can you afford the consequences?â Martha
glared at Philip fiercely and cursed as soon as she saw him.
This damned Philip! Wynn had just returned from the hospital and he took her out again. Did he want
her to die?
After saying that, she quickly yelled at Charles to help Wynn take a seat.
Philip was helpless and did not want to say anything.
However, Wynn said, âMom, donât talk to Philip like that. Iâm fine. You guys are just making a fuss out of
it.â
âWhatâs fine about you? Youâre now just two months away from your due date and still carelessly
running around with him. If anything goes wrong, youâll regret it then.â
Martha was fierce, but it was also for Wynnâs sake.
Therefore, Philip chose to be silent.
In the past, she had tried all ways and means to make him and Wynn divorce.
Seeing that Philip was not speaking, Martha grumbled a bit more before asking, âPhilip, let me ask you,
when will you let me and your father return to Riverdale? What do you intend to do by leaving us here?
Are we under house arrest?â
When Charles heard this, he also asked, âYes, Philip, your mother and I should return by now. After all,
we still need to handle many things at home.â
Philip thought about it and said, âLetâs wait a few more days. Iâll take care of the affairs in Riverdale
first.â
âA few more days? Why is it taking so long to deal with the matter in Riverdale? Are you thinking of
putting me and your father under house arrest and then taking Beacon for yourself?â
Martha shouted sharply in annoyance.
What was Philipâs intention in keeping them in Uppercreek?
Hearing Marthaâs words, Wynn looked dissatisfied and said, âMom, what nonsense are you talking
about? How can you think of Philip that way? He has been helping me to take care of the companyâs
affairs.â
âWhat do you mean heâs been helping you? I think he doesnât have any good intentions. Heâs been with
us for so many years but never had any major achievements. He only wants to take advantage of us.
Wynnie, donât be fooled by him. Do you think heâs sincere just because he has a little money and treats
you well? I think heâs just trying to scam you. Then, heâll take Beacon for himself, cash it out, and run
away.â
Martha cursed fiercely and felt very upset.
