Dongfang Liuyun was a casual and calm person. That was Xi Xiaye’s impression of her.

Xi Mushan and Shen Wenna were pretty comfortable around her, and they have had dinner with her in the university canteen before.

Mu Yuchen just ate his food quietly. Xi Xiaye sensed that he had something on his mind, but she did not bother asking as it did not feel like the appropriate moment to ask.

Xi Mushan talked about work with Dongfang Liuyun while Shen Wenna sometimes joined their conversation.

Sometime later, Xi Xiaye asked out of curiosity, “Liuyun, are you close to Qi Lei?”

Dongfang Liuyun paused for a moment. She glanced at Xi Xiaye and smiled. Then, she emptied her glass before replying, “He’s my drinking mate. We also play games together sometimes. I’d say we’re considered friends. Why did something like this suddenly happen to him?”

She refilled Mu Yuchen and Xi Xiaye’s glasses.

“It’s a long story, but thanks for the concern.” Xi Xiaye seemed worried as she glanced at the man beside her. She had been really worried this whole while, especially regarding Lingshi...

Dongfang Liuyun continued to drink, ignoring the slightly judgmental stare from Mu Yuchen. “He’s a determined person, so you don’t have to worry about him. He’s lucky to have friends to be this concerned about him. I can tell from our conversations that he has a lot of trust in both of you,” she disclosed.

Mu Yuchen and Xi Xiaye traded glances. Mu Yuchen then joined in the conversation. “He mentioned us to you?”

The ‘us’ being Xi Xiaye and him.

Dongfang Liuyun frowned slightly and emptied her glass again. “I doubt he has that many friends anyway. I’m sure you guys will find him soon.” She refilled her glass and then said, “I still have some work to be done. I’ll be leaving after this drink.”

On the way back, Xi Xiaye could not get Dongfang Liuyun’s beautiful face out of her mind. She did not even react after her man called out to her several times.

“Xiaye!” He raised his voice slightly and stunned Xi Xiaye a little. Instantly, she came back to her senses.

“Hmm?” She turned towards him and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“What were you thinking about? I’ve been calling you several times,” he frowned as he asked her with concern.

Xi Xiaye shook her head. “Nothing much. I just felt that there’s something mysterious about Dongfang Liuyun. Do you know anything about her? I heard a little from Grandfather. She apparently has quite a background.”

“Quite a background? I know Grandfather has an eye for her, but the Mu family doesn’t really have many business tradings with her, so I don’t know her that well.” Mu Yuchen hardly had any interest in others, especially women.

Xi Xiaye rolled her eyes at him. “You’re always like this, forever ignorant of others.”

“I can’t even take care of everything in our family. How do you expect me to mind other’s businesses?”

“True enough. By the way, what were you thinking about just now? You seem to have a lot on your mind...”

Before Xi Xiaye could finish, Mu Yuchen’s phone started ringing. He frowned before quickly answering the call.

“Master, we found Bro Mo’s trail...” It was Ah Bao’s voice.

Mu Yuchen’s fists were clenched as he squinted his eyes. “Where are they?”

“They entered the mountains area in City D about 10 days ago. I checked the security cameras near the entrance and didn’t see them leaving. I’m guessing that they were brought deep inside the mountain area.”

“Find them no matter what,” Mu Yuchen gave his orders.

“Yes, Master!” Ah Bao replied.

Mu Yuchen hung up on the call and dialed Zhou Zimo’s number right after that.

Xi Xiaye did not say anything and just listened quietly to his conversation with Zhou Zimo. Although she might not understand everything he wanted to do, she could grasp that it had something to do with Doris, and he mentioned the UK as well.

Actually, Xi Xiaye did not know very much about Doris, and Mu Yuchen did not want her to worry. She hardly asked about what happened between them.

“Is Zimo doing alright now?” Xi Xiaye asked.

“He’s fine. Don’t worry.” He took a deep breath and let out a sigh before turning around and looking out of the window.

The atmosphere inside the car quieted down.

Xi Xiaye asked, “Are the people that are going against you two related to Doris? Her network is way too wide, isn’t it?”

“She’s just trying to distract us. I’m sure she’s planned this for a long time. Doris wants to return to the UK and take over her father’s position, but she was still not capable given her current power, especially after the previous exposure. Her family’s reputation was damaged, so it’s impossible for her to have reached that position without some contribution,” Mu Yuchen briefly explained to Xi Xiaye.

Xi Xiaye nodded quietly.

“Doris is very skilled at using other people. If it wasn’t for Ah Bao’s intel, we might be suffering from a hard blow right now.”

“Do you mean exposing the fact Doris was pregnant and then miscarried during Gu Lingsha and Qi Feng’s wedding?” Xi Xiaye’s eyes widened as she looked at Mu Yuchen.

With a nod, Mu Yuchen pinched the space between his eyebrows and said, “It’d be wrong to assume that she only relies on Gu Qiwu. Remember that I told you before Ah Bo found something interesting?
