Outside the Gu residence, Gu Qiwu crossed his arms under the cold rain in the morning. It was freezing outside.

Gu Qiwu looked in the direction where the car left without saying anything. He did not seem like he was cold despite just wearing a sleeping robe in the chilly weather.

Ah Yong did not say anything else when he noticed Gu Qiwu’s expression darken. Gu Qiwu turned and went back into the house as he said, “Call Mu Yuchen’s assistant right away. Something good must have happened on Mu Lingmo and Qi Lei’s end. Also, tell him to protect me no matter what. He won’t have it easy if I’m imprisoned. The next morning, Mu Yuchen woke up early as usual. He prepared breakfast for the whole family.

It was quiet downstairs when Xi Xiaye came down. She looked around and saw the man reading the newspaper on the sofa.

“Why is it so quiet? Where are Father, Mother, and Grandfather?”

The elders in the family had a habit of waking up early, thus Xi Xiaye found it odd to not see them at this time.

The man averted his gaze to her when he heard her voice. He put the papers away and waved his hand at her. “Christmas is coming soon, so they brought our son to go shopping. Grandfather went to see Elder Su, and they won’t be home for lunch. Is Lingshi still asleep?”

Xi Xiaye went near and sat down beside him. “Mmm, she slept pretty late last night. Let her rest for now.”

Mu Yuchen put an arm around her shoulder before gently kissing her lips. “I’m heading over to the site at South River today. Do you want to come along?”

Mu Yuchen’s eyes turned cold slowly. “How did Doris get that evidence?” he squinted his eyes and asked coldly. Then, he let go of Xi Xiaye and started drinking the tea he had just brewed slowly while the light in his eyes was flickering. He seemed to have a lot on his mind at the moment.

“Gu Qiwu guessed that Qi Feng must have provided her with the information. Only Qi Feng knew what Gu Qiwu did at that time. However, Gu Qiwu said he swore on his dignity that he didn’t order the killer to kill Wang Qin. He just wanted Missus to be holding the knife when the lights returned.
