Vol. 3 Ch. 6
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
Noa leaned against the temple gate as a massive silver figure descended slowly into the courtyard.
The small âbossâ crossed her arms and called out, âTheyâre back.â
In the next second, a tiny figure dashed out.
âMom! Dad! Youâre home!â Moon ran up excitedly.
Rosvisser was about to kneel down to welcome her precious daughter, but the man beside her, that annoying husband of hers, beat her to it.
The Queen shot him a sideways glance, mentally noting this little act of "kneeling first."
*Whatâs with him?*
*Not only does he stop me from feeling jealous, but now I canât even hold a grudge? Seriously.*
As Rosvisser silently grumbled to herself, a tuft of pink hair entered her vision.
âMom, hug me~â
Ah, well, at least someone is still attached to me. Sure, you may have gotten to hug our daughter first, but mine came asking for a hug herself! Way more special!@@novelbin@@
General Leon, happily playing with the children, could never imagine that his supposedly cold and dignified wife was mentally writing an entire essay about these little rivalries.
The couple each carried one daughter up the steps.
Noa straightened up as her parents approached, greeting them formally. âWelcome home, Mom and Dad.â
âMm, did you take good care of your sisters while we were gone?â Leon asked.
Noa smiled and nodded. âYes, Dad.â
Leon, holding Moon in one arm, reached over with the other hand to pat Noaâs head. âNoa, youâre the best.â
The young girlâs face flushed red as she turned her gaze away, embarrassed.
Leon knew his eldest daughter well. Rather than asking her things like âDid you behave while we were away?â or âHowâs your magic training going?â, Noa much preferred questions like âDid you do a good job taking care of your sisters?â
It made her feel more grown-up.
In some ways, she was more mature than many adults, even outperforming them in certain aspects.
The family of five, chatting and laughing, entered the temple.
Dinner was prepared by the maids.
As Milan served the dishes, Rosvisser noticed the faint smile on her face, as if she were thinking of something pleasant.
Rosvisser didnât ask about it at first, but when Milan came back with more dishes and was still smiling, even Rosvisserâs usual disinterest couldnât stop her curiosity from being piqued.
âMilan.â
âYes, Your Majesty? Is something the matter?â Milan stood next to Rosvisser, bending slightly in respect.
âYou seem to be in a good mood. Whatâs making you so happy?â Rosvisser asked with a smile, trying to soften her usually serious expression.
At this, a blush spread across Milanâs face as she fiddled with her hair, replying quietly, âN-Nothing really, Your Majesty.â
Before she could finish, Shirley appeared out of nowhere, wrapping her arm around Milanâs shoulders with a mischievous grin. âYou havenât heard, Your Majesty? Milanâs in loâmmph mmph!â
Milan immediately clamped a hand over Shirleyâs mouth. âWhat are you doing sneaking into the maid team? Get back to your post with the scouts!â
Rosvisserâs eyes sparkled. âOh~ So itâs love, is it?â
At that moment, General Leon, who had been calmly eating his meal, froze, mentally grumbling to himself:
*You dragons live for hundreds of years, and you're only now falling in love? Talk about late bloomers.*
âItâs not like that, Your Majesty! Itâs just⦠just some casual interactionâ¦â Milan stammered, trying to explain. âAnyway, dinner is served, please enjoy!â
Milan quickly dragged Shirley out of the dining room, muttering, âBig mouth! Big mouth!â
Shirley just chuckled.
As their footsteps faded, Rosvisser turned back to her meal, her thoughts still lingering on Milanâs sudden romance.
Milan had been a maid for a long time, and thereâd never been any gossip about her before. Now, out of nowhere, sheâs fallen in loveâ¦
*Could it be that my recent campaign about our âepic love storyâ has inspired the young maids to seek out love for themselves?*
*Well, well, good for the Silver Dragon Clan! Love for all!*
âHey, whatâs with that goofy smile? Itâs not like youâve fallen in love,â Leon said, snapping his fingers in front of Rosvisserâs face.
Rosvisser came back to her senses and frowned. âMaybe I havenât fallen in love, but Iâm married. Got a problem with that?â
Her retort left Leon momentarily speechless.
âOooh~ Momâs blushing!â Moon chimed in teasingly.
After some playful banter, dinner continued.
The three little ones quickly finished and went to the courtyard to play.
Leon and Rosvisser took their time, enjoying the rest of the meal together.
âBy the way, when you were in the cave, you told your mentor it was *you* who wanted to practice Primordial Magic and asked him to help you find resources. Why didnât you just say it was me who needed it?â Rosvisser asked.
Leon set down his knife and fork, dabbing his mouth with a napkin before responding, âIf I told him it was you, he might overthink it. But if I say itâs for me, heâll take it seriously and put in the effort to help.â
âOh, is that so?â
Leonâs eyes flickered. âWhat, you didnât think of that?â
Rosvisser shot him a sideways glare. âOf course, I thought of that. I just wanted to hear your explanation.â
âAre you satisfied with my answer?â
âItâs decent. Satisfactory.â
Her usual prideful tone diffused the tension, much to Leonâs amusement.
He chuckled to himself and began fiddling with his fork, tapping it against his plate rhythmically. Not loud enough to disturb, just something to pass the time.
Rosvisser continued to eat at her leisurely pace.
âArenât you going to play with the girls now that youâve finished eating?â Rosvisser asked nonchalantly.
Leon leaned back in his chair, arm draped over the backrest. âToo lazy to move.â
âToo lazy to move? Hmph. More like youâre enjoying playing the role of a good husband and keeping your wife company through dinner.â
âOh, sure, sureââ
Leon dramatically tilted his head, feigning disbelief. âDonât be so full of yourself, Dragon Queen. Iâm just observing how dragons eat for research purposes.â
âAnd what are you planning to do with that research?â
âWrite a book, *My Years of Being Captured by a Silver Dragon*.â
âThat sounds like a cheap knockoff youâd find at a street stall.â
âHaha, youâre funny, Your Majesty. Now finish your meal.â
Rosvisser suppressed the urge to laugh, her mouth twitching as she resumed eating.
Not long after, the head maid Anna appeared.
âExcuse me, Your Majesty, my lord.â
Just as Rosvisser finished her meal, Leon handed her a couple of napkins. She took them, wiped her mouth, and turned to Anna. âWhatâs the matter?â
âWell, Your Majesty, a while back you encouraged everyone to pursue free love and revive the Silver Dragon Clan. The response has been very positive.â
Anna continued, âHowever⦠as you know, the traditional Dragon Clan members arenât exactly skilled in interacting with the opposite sex, let alone in matters of love or expressing their feelings.â
Rosvisser nodded thoughtfully. âTrue, I hadnât considered that.â
âYes, and now several people have approached me, saying that since Iâve been by your side for so long, I must have learned many of your and the princeâs love secrets. Theyâve been asking me to teach them.â
Anna shook her head with a wry smile. âBut I donât know anything about love myself⦠So, Your Majesty, my lord, would you consider giving the people some guidance on love yourselves?â
The couple exchanged glances.
They launched into a mental conversation.
Leon: *What the hell do they mean by giving âguidanceâ? What am I supposed to teach them? How to get captured by the enemy and then impregnate the other side?*
Rosvisser: *Love that comes after marriage doesnât apply to everyone. Weâll have to take it step by step.*
Leon: *Are you seriously taking my joke literally?*
Rosvisser: *I think Annaâs idea is a good one. Since we started this movement, we canât just abandon it halfway. We need to thoroughly teach them how to love.*
Leon: *Oh, like youâre such an expert in loveâ¦*
Rosvisser: *I have you, donât I?*
Leon: *Me? I never said Iâd help you with thisâ*
âItâs settled then. Anna, tomorrow the prince and I will personally share our experiences in love,â Rosvisser declared.
Leon: *What?*
*Fine, fine, you win, Dragon Queen.*
