So by the time I release this I will probably be done with school. And once that happens I can spend my time developing the story. I wish to thank all of you for waiting patiently and I hope to hear more from you. It really inspires me to hear how much you liked the story. I want to dedicate this chapter to all my readers. Please continue to read and vote. Let me know what you think so far. Also, Zicko and Kalli's story will be in the next chapter.

Amkay's POV

I wake up to a pressure on my chest. I thought it would be Morgan so I cuddled up to her. I opened my eyes to find a large egg in my arms. I startle into a sitting position. I look around for anyone that could have put this here. I see Zyler on my bed. She is sitting by the headboard and is sucking on her pacifier. I am momentarily shocked but I get up and walk over to her. I lift her into my arms and walk out of my room but before I can cross the threshold she starts reaching for something behind me. I almost forgot the egg. I quickly walk back and hold it in my other arm. Now we can go have breakfast. It had been five years since I was last in our fortress. I look at the hallways as I walk to the kitchen. They have not changed, I had forgotten what this place means to me. My dad comes over and takes Zyler from me.

"Why don't you go and wake up your mate?" he asks

I nod and turn to walk to her room. I wish she would have been in my room but my mom said that she wanted Morgan to get used to the community and my parents before we can "sleep" together. But of course my desires have no say in what happens around here so I have to be good and not start something that will anger my clan and my family. I come to a stop in front of her door and walk in. I am not prepared for what I see though.

"Get out! Don't you men ever knock!" she screams at me.

My blood heats and before I know it I am towering over her. She gasps and my opportunity presents itself. I grab her roughly and crush our lips together for a combustible and fiery kiss. It quickly escalates and I lift her into my arms and walk to the wall. She pulls away for a breath.

"We shouldn't be doing this. I thought we had to wait." she says breathlessly.

My brother was pushing me to do more but with her words I gained a little more control.

"I'm sorry when I saw you with just a towel I kinda lost control. I might have to stay in that room all day now that I have a taste for you."

She smiles and I lean in to rest my head in her neck. Sometimes I feel as if I have no control when I am around her, it's like my body and desires take hold and won't stop until they are satisfied.

Morgan's POV

I was shocked when Amkay came in. I had just gotten out of the shower when he barged in. But I was not expecting him to come at me like that. Our combined passion quickly rolled out of control and thankfully I was able to stop him. His mom had told me about an ancient tradition where the mate of one of their people will have to go through a trial of sorts. Basically I had to win over the clans people as well as his parents in order to become his mate. Which meant no funny business until I passed their expectations. I have to admit that I am a little glad to have more time before we mate, I just want to be sure I know all about him and where he comes from.

"I should probably leave." he said.

I nodded but he did not move. He held me impossibly closer and whispered in my ear.

"Is breá liom tú."

"What does that mean?" I ask him.

"It means I love you in my language."

I blush slightly at his confession. The words were beautiful and seemed so full of his love that I didn't really need the translation to understand.

"Ok now I really will leave, my parents are probably wondering why I am taking so long."

He lowers me back tot he floor and I watch him walk out of the door. I wonder how long we will be able to hold out from our desire. I just hope that I can make a good impression and not embarrass myself.

Later that night...

The day went by fast, we toured the castle and I met some of the guards and other members of the community. Amkay's mom, Nessa, told me about their history and how she met her mate. I was surprised to hear that she almost refused Domnall when she learned who he was.

"I must warn you, you will be in for a big surprise after you have completed the mating frenzy. I wish I could tell you now but Amkay will tell you after as is customary with our clans."

I felt apprehensive and was unsure of what was to come but I trust Amkay and I am coming to love his parents.

"What is it like to have a mate?"

"Well for me I didn't want to be mated to the leader of a dragon clan. I fought so hard against him. At the end it took him walking away and sending me letters before I could consider his love. I was a human like you but in those times it was harder to believe in something so powerful and mythical. Trust me when I say that they love you as if they were born loving you. To think I wasted that year just to prove he was wrong about mates."

Her story shocks me. My relationship of course was different since I did not fight the how I felt towards Amkay but to know that she was in the same boat helps. Her validation of this complicated mates thing makes me feel better. I know that I am probably over complicating things but I wish that he would just tell me what the hell being a mate is then maybe I wouldn't be so confused. As we continue to walk I survey the area and see the beauty of their homeland. I love it here and can see why they would build out here. It was for the most part secluded and they could easily get supplies if needed. Plus, the serene beauty of the water and mountains captivated me. I didn't realize that I had stopped until Nessa stands next to me.

"It's such a gorgeous view." I say.

"Yes. I was awed by this view when I first came here. I came to love living here and there are some really great private places close to here. My mate, Culkin, got so frustrated one day that he grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder. I fought him but once he had stopped and put me down I looked around and saw a small waterfall that flowed into a small pool. I was so enraptured by the beauty that I actually lightened my mood and decided to have some fun with him. I think that was the point in which I really started to fall for him."

I heard someone stop behind us and I turned to see Amkay's father. He was blushing but his eyes held passion and lust for his wife that I hoped, one day, I would see in Amkay's eyes. Nessa turns and gasps in shock that he was standing behind her.

"How long have you been standing there?" she asks him.

"Long enough to know something new. Why haven't you told me about this?"

I decide to leave since  this is a private moment between them. I back up and turn to walk back the way we came. Since we never finished the tour I don't really know how to get back to my room or the kitchen. I  manage to get to the outside garden but have no idea where to go. I think I got lost but nobody is around so it's not like I can ask them for directions. I find a bench over by a fountain and decide to sit for a minute. The garden is beautiful and I love the smell of all the flowers. I wish Amkay were here. Maybe he would hold me close and we could just enjoy one another's company. I feel as though he has been avoiding me all day. Ever since this morning he has been gone and I miss him.

"What are you doing out here all alone?"

I turn to the left and see Amkay walking towards me. He is wearing a blue shirt and jeans but he manages to steal my heart with something so trivial as clothing. He stops in front of me.

"Tomorrow morning we will meet the rest of the clan. By then, we will be able to complete the mating process. I have a special place I mind that I know you will love."

He holds his hand out to me and I take it. He pulls me up and into his arms.

"I am a little nervous. what will happen after the mating is completed?"

"You will have to wait. It is tradition for me to tell you the day of the mating what will happen. But just know that I will love you even if you chose not to, okay?"

I nod and he leans down to kiss my cheek.

"Can we go inside now? It is starting to get cold."

He nods and we walk back inside. Tomorrow is a big day. We will finally be together as real mates. There was only one worry on my mind though. What did he mean by if I do not chose to mate with him?

So I know this has taken a while to complete but I hope to update more frequently. I am in the process of updating the images of the male characters. It will be a special surprise.
