Dragon mates
Morgan's POV
The day was fun but I was getting tired and I wanted to find Kalli before we left to go back home. Amkay tugged on my hand and I turned to look at him.
"It's ok. She needs to bond with him alone. Do you want me to walk you home?" asks Amkay.
I smile and nod yes. He tells me to wait while he goes to tell his friends that he is leaving. I turned to get out of the water and felt him lift me out and set me carefully on the side of the pond. I blushed a little but quickly got up to find my towel. However, Amkay had already gotten it for me and held it out for me to grab. I walked over and took the towel from him nervously. He smiled at me and I quickly wrapped the towel around me. He told me to wait while he dries off and puts on his shirt. I quietly stand there waiting.
"Where do you live?" he asks.
"I-in the m-mountains." I nervously squeak out.
He nods and starts to walk into the woods. I run to catch up to him. We walk in silence for a while until he asks about me.
"Do you like to read?" he asks.
I nod yes.
"What is your favorite genre?"
"I like fantasy novels." I replied.
His next question threw me a bit but I still responded.
"What is your favorite mythical creature?" he asked.
"D-dragons." I say.
He gives me a dazzling smile. I feel my heart race but try not to notice.
Amkay's POV
When she told me she likes dragons I felt my heart soar. I wanted to hug her tightly but knew that would be pushing my luck. So I gave her a bright smile. I liked getting to know her but also wished I could share more with her. What would it take to capture her heart?
"What do you like to do the most?" I ask.
she innocently looks up at me and my heart stutters.
"I like to swim and read. I don't really play sports but I will if my friends play with me. I also like to be in nature." she responds.
I nod. I plan where I can take her on a date when I see her house come into view. By the time we reach her property I already have a plan in mind for our date, I just hope she will go with me. I stop her right on the porch and look her in the eyes.
"Will you go on a date with me?" I say.
She smiles and looks at the ground. The suspense is killing me.
"Where would we go?"
I must have put on a funny face because she laughed at me.
"We can go buy some books and read at the pond if you want?" I ask.
She considers it for a moment and then nods yes. I let out my breath and smile. I had been anticipating a no but her yes made me feel elated. I tell her the date and start to walk away. I feel her hand wrap around my wrist and I turn back to look at her. She is looking down at her feet and seems a little nervous.
"What's wrong Morgan?"
She slowly looks up and pulls me down. I know what she wants now and I seal my lips to hers. It is a light kiss but for me it is full with promises. She may not know a lot now but she will soon know who I really am and I'm excited for that day. My heart races even faster and I pull away. She is going to kill me control so I back away. She smiles.
"See you tomorrow. I look forward to it." she says.
"You have no idea how much I will be anticipating tomorrow. I will be here at noon." I reply.
I wait until she is inside before I jump up and down I take off running back to my friends. As I get deeper into the woods I let out a deep laugh of happiness. I wonder what the others did while I was gone?
