Finax's POV

I changed into my dragon form like the others and noticed Amkay was in the air already. My clan is known for it's armor like scales. Nothing can pierce through them. Even the webbing of my wings are indestructible which makes me invulnerable. I am the leader of my clan now so are the others but in my clan we have to fight for the position where others use elections. I was chosen to be in the running at only ten years old. The reason I was chosen was because the people thought I was a born leader and naturally strong. Most contenders are only about forty years old. And some aren't even considered until they reach full maturity, which is at fifty years of age. I am a baby leader but am considered one of the best since I have changed my clan into a strong leader. My friends are the same way and our clans have been in alliance since we were chosen. We are the most feared alliance and no one tries to double cross us. But enough about that. I push my wings powerfully up and down a couple times. It takes a lot of power to get my brother off the ground. Hey. That is insensitive. Sorry. But you do weigh a lot. He chaffs at me and I laugh. We wait for Enway to get his bulky body in the air and then we fly to the spring. Keeping my excitement down is hard enough when my brother tries to speed over to her. Calm down. I need to be with her. I want to be beside her right now. I know. I want that too but we can't scare her by showing up in your form otherwise she may never talk to us again. Just follow Amkay and deal with it. He snorts out smoke letting me know he isn't happy. I smell her scent when Amkay banks back into the cover of the trees. Shit. How am I going to focus enough to change back?

Lina's POV

I wait with my friends for the guys to show up. My heart pumps double time knowing that I will soon see the one person who is always on my mind. What seems crazy is that I only met him yesterday but feels like I've been with him my whole life. There is a comfortability with him I have never felt before with anyone else. Not even my friends. It's like coming home after being away for years. I hear laughter and look at the forest. They come through and I catch sight of Finax. Now I know why they were laughing. He has no shirt for some reason and is looking uncomfortable when my eyes catch his. Every time we are near it feels like magnetic pulses are drawing together. Just like two magnets. He walks closer and I am rooted to the spot. I feel a rush of relief as if I haven't seen him in so long. He gives me a sheepish smile.

"Sorry about my appearance. I lost my shirt." He says.

I laugh. How can he lose a shirt while walking here. Unless one of the other guys took it but it seems unlikely.

"Do you need suspenders to keep your shirt on? I have missed you."

His smile grows wider and his eyes take on a dangerous gleam. What is he thinking?

Finax's POV

She shines from the glow of the sun. I want to wrap her close to me and never let go. This is my chance. I lean in and kiss her on the lips. She gasps and I pull away. She has a deep blush on her face and I feel something like victory running through my veins. She is looking at the ground now. Is she embarrassed with me not having a shirt on. I look good but I don't have muscles that are defined like the others. I lift her chin up and smile. She is still blushing profusely. She wraps her arms around me and I am surprised by my quick reaction. My eyes are glowing brightly. I can't hold back my brother. He wants to roar with happiness. Shut up. I can't help how happy I feel dumbass. It's a natural reaction to my mate being this close. She lays her head over my heart. Uh oh. Can she hear the pounding drum that is my heart. I swear it will rip through me and land in her palm. My body starts to itch. Calm down or we will shift. I don't want to hurt her or scare her. I take in a deep breath but all it does is stir me up more since her scent gets sucked up and invades my whole body. God what she does to me. I could faint because her scent is so intoxicating.
