Amkay's POV

Amkay can we please wake up now! I want to see Morgan.

Ugg. Why can't I sleep for five more hours. My dragon persists though. I get up and notice Jupei is gone. His dragon must be annoying him like mine is.

So hurtful. Not to mention disrespectful to me. After all I have done for you.

How did this all start?

FLASHBACK

Today marks my entrance into dragonhood. My dad was really excited but my mom refused to celebrate the occasion. She was upset for some reason. My dad gave me my brother's egg. I was only six years old and my village in Ireland had never heard of someone so young to survive the bond. I was going to prove them wrong, just like my dad told me to do. My parents walked me to the circle for bonding pairs. I had to walk into the circle by myself and take my brother with me. It didn't matter that he was still in his egg because it was time. I got to the middle and waited for my dragon to talk to me. When he did then he would begin the process of bonding to me. The shell burst apart without being cracked first and I smiled. My brother was very strong and I loved him even more.

Bow to me. For I am the mighty Deo. Nice to meet you Amkay.

I laugh at him and he spits fire in my face. I am scowling at him now. The leader of our village clears his throat. I turn to him.

"Amkay Prior, and dragon Deo, please begin the bonding process."

I turn to face my brother and close my eyes. He starts first by joining our minds. He then bonds our souls with fire. The last part is up to me. I reach my power out to my dragon. He has a strong hold on his power. I went to fast though and was jolted, with my last breath I finish the process and pass out from the energy jolt. Deo enters my body he assesses the damage. He sees an aneurism in my brain. He panics but quickly reduces the swelling. I am still breathing but just barely. I hear uncontrollable sobbing. I have to get back to my mom. I try to open my eyes but the action causes me to seizure.

Hold still or we will both die. I can only fix your brain if you do not try something stupid.

I listen to him. He is finished quickly and says I can get up now. I open my eyes and see members of my village holding back my parents who had shifted and were being barricaded by other dragons. I slowly sit up and walk out of the circle. Now that I am fine my parents shift back and pick me up. They sandwich me between them and I snuggle into my fathers arms. The whole ordeal has made me tired.

"I like your new hair Amkay. The purple suits you."

He ruffles my hair and I look at him confused.

For the scare you caused me I gave you purple highlights. Enjoy.

It wasn't untilI got home that I understood what they were talking about.

Now you know. I still love my brother even though he gives me grief sometimes.
