LYKA'S POV:

Right now i am heading towards the cafe where all the girls are going to meet. Aayat was the one who called up on this emergency meeting. she never does that, unless its really something important.. or worse.. something horrible.

as i walk to the cafe, this cute little bundle of cuteness and mischief is circling around my feet. yeah its my dog, leo. he's become very clingy these days, doesn't let me be alone even for a moment. not that i am complaining tho.. i like his company very much.

Aayat knows about my love for my dogs and she tries her best to choose pet friendly cafes for most of our meets, she's my soulmate for a reason of course. so i can comfortable enter the cafe with my munchkin with me..!

as soon as i entered the cafe i spot all 4 of them waiting for me.

AAYAT: late as usual.. the little devil is the reason i guess?

AARNA: aww don't call him a devil. he's so adorable..!

LYKA: aww come on aayat, we all know you don't hate him or else you wouldn't select pet friendly cafes for us.

AAYAT: its just that i love you too much.. don't let the little devil get high on his ego!

SAMAIRA: ok guys cut the crap, aayat i know this is not some casual meet up.. you never call for an emergency meeting unless its something really urgent or problematic. so please tell us, i might faint due to anxiety.

AARNA: exactly now everyone is here!! tell us already..!

i saw her and aditi passing nervous looks among them.. and aayat was playing with the end if her dupatta,, she does this only when she's nervous about something serious.

i gently hold her hand and assure her to proceed..

LYKA: hey you don't have to be nervous, you know we are here for you.

AAYAT: guys, i am getting married the very next month..

as soon as she said this, there was a lump in my throat, its not that i don't want her to be with someone. i knew she had to get married eventually and everyone else knew that too. but one month is very less time.

i am emotionally connected to aayat the most. she's been there with me during the hardest of my times. whenever i was in distress, the only person i thought of was her. she had this magical aura and her way with words that made me believe that everything was actually going to be fine.. and when it wasn't going to be fine... her words gave me strength to face the reality.

and now i don't want her to face anything too harsh. i want her to have a happy life. i wanted to react to this news. but others' reaction were enough to panic her. i need to be there for her.. i can't make her worry more by reacting that way.

SAMAIRA: girl are you out of your mind?  first you're getting married at such a young age, and now you're telling us that you're getting married the very next month?? do you even know the person you are going to marry well? what do you think this is? a reality show where people will get entertained by seeing you perform harsh tasks?? this is not done aayat.. this is definately not done.

AARNA: aayat.. i told i'll support you and i wished you for a happy marriage but even i think this is too early.. what's the hurry??

ADITI: guys don't scare her.. she's anxious enough.. and she has her own reasons..

AAYAT:  yes guys.. i'll have to marry him eventually.. so i don't think it'll make any difference whether its now or later.. also he's going to be very busy with the new project in his company and won't be able to take time for marriage for the next 6 months. also baba is also excited enough and has started the preparations.. the engagement is next week... and i want you all to be there. i'll just have faith in my fate and go with the flow and i want you guys to support me.

LYKA: anything you need from us.. you'll have it.. not even a single doubt in that. we are here for you aayat. I AM HERE FOR YOU!

time skip

after the meet:

i was lost in my own thoughts while exiting the cafe. this was a new bomb by aayat. damn life is getting out of hands rapidly these days. everything is unpredictable. i just hope whatever the life has for her, she'll be happy. i can't see her sad.

pushing my thoughts to the side, i searched around for leo.. he wasn't there. i started panicking and looked around for him, that is when i see him running across the road and a vehicle approaching him in speed.

my heart stopped beating.. i plunged towards him but i was too late.. i just closed my eyes with tears in them and i just prayed for him to be ok..

that is when i heard muffled barks, IT WAS LEO.. HE WAS ALIVE!

that is when i opened my eyes and saw a man A VERY HANDSOME man holding my munchkin, leo plunged at me and i hugged him as if my life depended on it.

LYKA: "bad doggy! do you know how scared i was?? don't leave me and run away like that again."

i heard a fake cough and my attention diverted towards mr. handsome who had just saved leo.

?: i hope he's alright, you looked very scared.

LYKA: yeah he's fine!! all thanks to you. i don't know what i would've done if it wasn't for you. thank you so much. i owe you something very big..!

he just chuckled softly. damn his voice.

?: there's no need for anything.. you don't owe me anything. even i have a cat. i know how it feels when we're on the verge of loosing them. i would've done the same for her as well so why not him? he's cute tho.

LYKA: yeah he's cute but mischievous at the same time! he's getting naughty day by day!

leo let out a low bark and jumped into mr. handsome's arms.

LYKA: he never gets comfortable with anyone this early. I think he likes you already.

?:  I would love it if his owner liked me too!

i felt my face heating up. damn i might be blushing so hard.

LYKA: huh? I-

?: damn look at you, i was just kidding don't worry. by the way i didn't catch your name?

LYKA: oh its lyka sinha. sorry i forgot to introduce myself. what's your name tho.

?: SATHYA

SATHYA: ok lyka as much as i would love spending my time speaking about dogs and cats, i have an appointment, i'll have to head towards it. it was nice meeting you..! and you too little sugarpie (he said looking at leo).

LYKA: nice to meet you too! goodbye!! hope you have a great day ahead and thank you once again!

SATHYA: not a problem!! have a great day too! good  bye.

saying this he vanished inside a cafe.

SATHYA POV:

she looked so adorable when she was scolding leo, anyone could tell she was scared to death after seeing her pet in danger.

i faked a cough to gain her attention and she looked up. damn she's gorgeous. if anyone tells me she's an angel brought to this world, i wouldn't think twice before believing them.

my conversation with her might look normal to any third person but only i know how fast my heart was beating. everytime she smiled my heart skipped a beat. i don't know what came to my mind and i confessed that i would love it if she liked me.. and i regretted the very next second. but the blush on her cheeks made her look prettier, damn she might kill me or i might embarrass myself if i continue being with her.

and that is when i decided to end our pretty little and encounter and headed towards the cafe to meet my not-so-friendly best friend. he's getting married next week and is getting engaged shortly.

that news came like a storm. but hey, he's asim aman, he doesn't do or say anything expected or predictable.

ASIM: you're late by two minutes

SATHYA: geez cool down man! its not your office and i am not your employee

ASIM: i don't care who you are or where you are, but if you are not punctual then you're a failure.

SATHYA: woahh cool dude. i'll be on time in future. don't get worked up and tell me why you asked me to come here. its very unusual to call me at this hour when your office is still working.

ASIM: i am getting engaged the very next week and i don't have time to waste on the shopping of clothes and all such things. i want you to design a outfit for me. i don't doubt your choice and thoughts. the event will be managed by the team i hired but i don't trust anyone with the outfit so i want you to do it.

SATHYA: *sigh* asim i am an author bro, not a designer. and you're telling me it is next week? how am i supposed to design something for you in such a short period of time?

ASIM: oh come on sathya everyone in our circle knows that you're fashion skills are over the top and you would be a great fashion designer if you were not an author. so cut the crap and get the work done.

SATHYA: there's no use arguing with you is it? ok sir, consider it done.

SATHYA: but asim, do you anything about the girl you're getting married to? i think you should know atleast something about her

ASIM: i know her name. its aayat. and she's 19 years old and an engineering student. i guess that's enough

SATHYA: asim, you're going to spend your life with her.  you'll have to take care of her. and when i say take care, i don't mean give her money or provide her materialistic things. you need to be there for her emotionally. she's too young and might have expectations too. money can't give you everything.

ASIM: i don't believe in emotional shit. and money can give you anything and everything. and you can't convince me otherwise. you know very well why i am saying this. its better for her to keep her boundaries and not to step out of it. i'll provide her with everything. but if she wants emotional connection, then sorry i can't help it. i am too busy for this.
