AAYAT'S POV:

its been 6 months since i've started with my AIML engineering. People in my new college are lovely, warm and welcoming but they'll never be my squad that i made 3 years ago. We stay in touch through calls and texting but i still miss them.. i miss being with them.

And today i feel happy because after so long i am going to see their faces, witness their smiles, listen to their stories and bicker with them. everything with them feels so right. But why do i have this unsettling feeling in my heart? Why does it feel like a storm's going to arrive and uproot everything?

aayat was deep in her thoughts when

ADITI: booooooooooooo

AAYAT: i swear to god aditi i'll kill you one day

SAMAIRA: count me in!! i'll be happy to accompany you in this.

ADITI: yeah yeah blurt out whatever you want, we all know all these are just useless talks. you won't even let your finger hurt me.

LYKA: *laughing* its been six months and you still haven't changed.

ADITI: and i won't even attempt to change. I love myself the way i am!

meanwhile aayat and samaira *rolling their eyes*

LYKA: hey guyss!! aarna is going to join us todayy!!

AAYAT: ohh finally she has time huh! good for her or else i would've forgotten she even existed!

AARNA: ohh myy godddd!! i just heard someone saying theyy missedddd meee!!

AAYAT: get your ears checked girl! i never told i missed you!!

AARNA: i know you all missed me so just cut the crap!

SAMAIRA: ohh my dear precious aarnaaa..!! did you finally get time to come out of your love nest and say hello to this not-so-beautiful world around you?? *fake smile*

AARNA: ohh come on we'll speak when you guys fall in love!! i am head over heels my man but soon you guys will be the cinderella wearing those shoes! and i won't let you guys hear the end of it!

ADITI: not happening aarna, forget it!

LYKA: anywayss!! my soulmateeee!!! its your birthday in a few days!! you'll be turning 19 girll!! what have you planned

AAYAT: you guys know i don't like celebrating my birthday in a loud manner

AARNA: but we need to do somethingg!!! ok here's the plan..!! we're all gonna meet up on aayat's birthday at this very cafe and celebrate her birthday!! it'll be only the 5 of us so you won't feel uncomfortable!! and aayat.. i am informing you about the plan. you can't deny it girll!!

LYKA: absolutely fantastic

ADITI: i am super down

SAMAIRA: ohh i am excited alreadyy!!

AAYAT: *sigh* ok as you guys say

aayat's birthday

BABA: beta aayat.. kahin jaarahi ho?

(beta aayat.. are you going somewhere?)

AAYAT: ji baba woh bas doston ne bulaya tha

(yes baba my friends had called me)

BABA: baccha i want you to come here and sit next to me, i have something to tell you.

AAYAT: yes baba tell me.

BABA: beta aayat.. aaj janamdin tumhaara hai..   but i want to ask you for something.. kya tum mujhe woh dogi?

(beta aayat.. its your birthday today.. but i want to ask you for something.. will you give me that?)

AAYAT: ofcourse baba tell me..! aakhir kaar padh likh ke toh mujhe aap hi ka guroor banna hai..

(at the end i want to become your pride by studying hard)

BABA: aayat beta.. mera guroor matt bano, meri izzat bachalo.. asim se shaadi karlo mere bacche.

(aayat beta.. don't be my pride, just protect it. marry asim my child )

AAYAT: baba what are you saying?? i am just 19 years old! i have dreams!! i want to study!!!

and asim? i've seen him only twice or thrice in my whole life! how can i marry him so suddenly?? no baba i can't do this..!

BABA: aayat bete baat toh suno meri. asim accha ladka hai.. tumhe khush rakhega.. kisi cheez ki kami nahi hone dega. aur rahi baat tumhaari padhai ki toh he doesn't have any problem with you continuing your studies after marriage. beta this was your grandfather's promise he made with asim's grandfather. atleast for his sake.. listen to me baccha.

AAYAT: baba will you be happy and proud of me if i get married to him?

BABA: ofcourse beta i'll be the happiest man alive and i am already proud of you my baccha

AAYAT: toh thik hai, meri haan hai. I'll marry him..

(alright then, its a yes from me too.. i'll marry him)

BABA: mera baccha you have no idea how happy i am right now. Thank you for always understanding me. I am glad to have you as my daughter. let me tell this good news to everyone.

AAYAT: haan toh kardi, but how will all of them react to this.

(although i've said yes, how will all of them react to this?)

IN THE CAFE:

ADITI: whatttttttttt?? are you out of your mind?? how can you even say yes?? do you even know your age?? do you think you are old enough to handle this??

SAMAIRA: exactly!!!! aayat this is not right.. go tell your father you can't do this. this is not the right age for it girl.

LYKA: *looking at aayat's overwhelmed and panicked face* *puts her hand on aayat's shoulder, comforting her* why are you doing this aayat? do you really want to do this?? you know its not necessary to sacrifice your wishes to make your baba happy. are you sure you want to do this?

AAYAT: guys i am sure i am ready, if not today then i had to get married some day. and i've always wanted to experience all the aspects of a lover with my husband, maybe i'll get to experience that with him at a young age and it might be beautiful. it might not be as bad as it looks. i just need you guys to be there for me.

AARNA: aayat, i stayed quite because i didn't know what to say. but now i just wish that all your dreams come true and i wish your husband would treat you like a queen..! and gurlllll come onn i won't let you breathe after you fall in love. i have to get back at yaa for all those years of torture..!

AAYAT: *chuckle* yeah yeah sure..! thank you for being there for me guys. i don't know what i would've done without you.

ALL OF THEM EXCEPT AAYAT: of coursee!! we lovee youu!!

AAYAT'S MIND: he'll keep me happy.. he won't hurt me right?? *sigh* i hope life is easy and happy with you asim.
