LYKA POV:

I've been practically glaring at this pen in my hand which i've been clicking and unclicking since past 15 mins.

am I the only person who feel's completely useless right now?? ughhh i hateee thisss!!! all my friends are busy in their lives and here i am, sitting with practically nothing to do!

Aayat is busy with her ahem ahem husband and her exams are coming up too so i don't want to disturb her much. Aditi has this assignment of interviewing a sports student for god knows what and she's been complaining about it since eternity but to my surprise i haven't heard any complaint since few days.

and my lady samaira, with her every finger into all stuff, is always busy. she'll be off on an all india tour for a whole month in a few days.

that practically leaves me and this soft toy of mine which has been my only company since the day aayat got married.

and someone else keeps in touch with me too.

at that very moment my phone screen lit up and the caller id made me smile.

LYKA: hiiiiii!!!

SATHYA: woahh were you sitting above the phone or what?

LYKA: lol nahhhh i was just bored and irritated too..! damn it irritates me soo much to sit home all day and do nothing. i would literally do anything to be occupied and i damn mean it!!

even joining a cult would be fineee!! I've never been soo annoyed in 19 years of my life time!

SATHYA: woahh cool down cool down! i never knew you could get angry! you looked soo calm.

LYKA: well you haven't known me for too long, have you?

SATHYA: well, fair i guess.

LYKA: aren't you at work? or are you jobless like me too?

SATHYA: woahhh i am at work chill! but its my break time. and I am author so you know, my working hours are different.

LYKA: atleast you have some work. not like me.

SATHYA: what's up with you? why are you so sulky today?

LYKA: i feel bored. i have no one to talk to.

SATHYA: well, you can talk to me.

LYKA: i don't like disturbing you.

SATHYA: trust me, since the moment i have met you, to this very moment, i haven't felt disturbed by you even once.

damn this guy will turn me into a tomato. i've never blushed so much even after watching kdramas. This man doesn't know what effect he's having on me.

LYKA: but still, i can't sit and talk to you the whole day. i want to do something meaningful. something productive.

SATHYA: hmm i see. there's a vacancy for the place of my assistant. its a temporary one. she's on maternity leave and i need someone to take her place for 4 months. would you like to take up that job?

LYKA:.....................

SATHYA: hello? lyka are you there?

LYKA: are you serious? about the job?

SATHYA: well yeah if you're interest-

LYKA: yess yesss yessss!!!! i would loveeeeeeee to take up that jobb!!! damn i couldn't be anymore happierr!! thank you thank you thank you thank you soooooooo muchh!!

SATHYA: damn if i would've known it would make you so happy then i would've approached you much earlier.

LYKA: well better late than never hehe!

SATHYA: so when would you like to join?

LYKA: the earlier the better!

SATHYA: okay then, tomorrow?

LYKA: okayyy thenn!! can't wait for tomorrow.

SATHYA: well okayy! since its going to be your first day i'll pick you up..!

LYKA: ohh you really don't have to do that..! send me the address-

SATHYA: nope..! i insist.

LYKA: okay then..! see you tomorrow.

SATHYA: suree! bubbyee..!

as soon as he ended the call i squealed and did my happy dance..! yes..! yess!! yess!! even i would have something to do now...! i don't have to feel left out!!

LYKA: ohh my godd i need to decide what to wear tomorrow. i can't control my excitement.

the whole day i spent preparing for tomorrow. mostly jumping around with excitement. damn i can't wait for tomorrow. it's night already and i was getting ready for bed when my phone pinged indicating there was a message. i looked at it and smiled.

it was sathya.

SATHYA:

be ready at 8:00 am. i'll pick you up.

LYKA:

aye aye captain.

SATHYA POV:

THIS GIRL IS MAKING ME GO CRAZY! i thought she would be that soft sweet girl who gives soft smiles and that's it. but surprise surprise! she get's irritated and excited too.

It felt awesome when she was happy after accepting the job. Well it was true that my assistant was on her maternity leave. but i was doing just fine without her. with no nearing release dates, there wasn't much of a work for an assistant but i just couldn't stop myself from offering her the job.

well, even if she doesn't have much work to do, she can at least give me company. She is one of those very few people whom i like speaking with and it would be really great if i get to spend more time with her.

with my brain filled with thoughts about her, i drifted into my dreamland.

TIME SKIP

NEXT MORNING.

i woke up early in the morning and started with my routine. i normally do gym as soon as i wake up followed by freshening up and having breakfast. I catch up with emails if there are any and finally leave for my work place.

well i was not into gym previously but my very best friend asim is most probably obsessed with gyms. most of our meetups were held in the gym, that might be the reason why i started doing gym too. well, even if not as great as him, my body looked fine too. I was attractive enough.

wait why am i even thinking about this stuff? i have never in my whole life thought about how my body looked. damn something is heavily wrong with me.

Also, i put extra effort in choosing my outfit today and dressing up. I didn't know why but i wanted to look good in front of her. I guess its normal. Well i am her boss, atleast for the time being and i should look presentable. I don't think there's any harm in this.

I looked at myself for one last time in the mirror and left my house. Dadu and dadi were still sleeping. i didn't want to disturb them, so i just covered their breakfast with a lid and left a sticky note to inform them that i had left early today and made sure to mention the medicines to be taken by them.

I was feeling extra excited today. I was going to pick her up from her house. And this was the first time i was going to her house. not that i would go in but still, it was a first at the end. I decided to pick up a few flowers and chocolates as a welcome gift for her.

It took me nearly 20 mins to reach her place. I texted her telling that i was waiting outside her house to which she replied by telling that she'll be out in just 5 mins.

I was looking through the messages on my phone while patiently waiting for her when suddenly the sound of door closing caught my attention. I looked up to find her near the door and I stopped breathing. I've never seen her in western wear but damn she looked good. I was soo lost in her when i saw her waving her hands in front of me to bring me out of my world. I just let out a fake cough.

SATHYA: you look very good..!

LYKA: well you don't look bad yourself.

SATHYA: thank you ma'am.

she chuckled and asked if we could leave.

SATHYA: yeah sure get in.

she got in the passenger seat and was struggling with the seat belt, i bent down on her side to fix it when i heard her pull in a huge breath. well i wasn't in any better condition myself but i didn't need to show that.

SATHYA: lyka, you're not breathing.

she just coughed a little and took in small breaths.

LYKA: huh? no.. yeah i am.. i am fine. i think we should leave now.

SATHYA: well, i have something for you before we leave.

she looked at me with those shining excited eyes.

LYKA: what is it??!!

SATHYA: take a look at the back seat.

she turned around and forwarded her hand to take the bag and checked what was in it. She squealed after seeing the chocolates.

LYKA: are these for mee????? thank you soooo muchh!

SATHYA: you're welcome! also these flowers are for you too..! welcome to author sathya's team.

LYKA: thank you so much mr. author..! i am looking forward to work with you..!

SATHYA: ok then, let's leave shall we?

LYKA: suree!!!

I don't know why, but i had a feel that the future will be full of mornings that are actually good.
