Chapter 467
The Spare Wife by Nadia Gordon
Chapter 467 Heâs a Businessman After All A smirk played on Joshâs lips when Luna said that. Do you have such a good impression of me?â
âYouâre my man. Why would I have agreed to date you in the first place otherwise?â she replied with a smile.
âIn that case, do you prefer me or Howard?â Josh couldnât help but be bitter about the fact that she once dated Howard.
Luna felt the romantic atmosphere in the car had been instantly ruined by the question.
She pushed him away and complained with a hint of annoyance. The last thing you should do in a relationship is bring up exes?
âI donât have an ex-girlfriend. Youâre the only one I have now and will have in the future.â Josh pouted with a tinge of grievance.
Luna looked at him and asked, âDo you think I donât deserve you, then?â
âNo. I just think Howard doesnât deserve you, and that bothers me,â Josh lamented bitterly Luna licked her lips and leaned in to whisper in his ear, âYoung men have good stamina.â
Josh blushed a little and turned to look at her.
Raising a brow, she continued, âI donât compromise when it comes to these things. If you canât accept it, then I canât help it âI can accept it, and I really like how honest you are.â Josh responded and reached out to hold her hand.
Luna believed his words, and Josh was very happy that she could be open with him, even if he knew her acceptance wasnât entirely pure in motive.
After walking a short distance, Abigail started feeling cold and was unable to continur anymore, so she stopped at the side of the road to book a cab Just as she fished out her phone, a car pulled up in front of her Cameron winded the car window down and revealed a big toothy grin as he asked. âDo you 13 need a ride, Ms. Quinn?â
Approaching his car, Abigail took a deep breath and questioned, âHow long have you been following me?â
âNot long. Please get in!â Cameron invited with a cheerful grin.
Abigail opened the car door and was about to get in when she turned her head and saw Sean sitting in the back seat.
âWhy are you here?â Abigail asked with a hint of disgust, refusing to get into the car.
âThis is my car. Why canât I be here?â Sean retorted.
âArenât you on my side? Why are you driving his car?â Abigail furrowed her brows and questioned Cameron.
Looking somewhat embarrassed, he replied bashfully, âIâm on your side, of course! I wanted to pick you up, but I canât afford a car with a license in Capitalis, so I had to borrow from an acquaintance.
Abigail gave him a skeptical look that seemed to say, âYou expect me to believe you?â
Cameron chuckled. âCome on in already. Itâs pretty cold out there.â
Abigail got into the car reluctantly, just as Sean thought that she wasnât going to accept the ride. To his surprise, she walked to the back seat, opened the door, and took a seat.
As soon as she settled in, Cameron started the engine.
âWhat are you planning to discuss with Howard tomorrow?â she asked Sean.
âYou can discuss whatever you want with him. Iâm just there to stress him out,â he answered.
Abigail hummed and then asked, âDo you know the exact amount of the tax issue?â
âAround 15 million, I suppose. After all, itâs a penalty, not just back taxes. If we want to resolve the tax issue, my suggestion is that either you or Luna should take the position of L.Moonâs CEO, Sean stated with a meaningful gaze.
Abigail fell silent for a moment before uttering. âHoward possesses strong management skills, Lunaâs main focus is on L.Moon, and I oversee the design department. I wouldnât be qualified to serve as the CEO âIn that case, weâll have to go with plan B. Weâll need to redistribute the shares, and whoever saves Fairy Meadow this time should receive the most shares and have the most say. Even if the other shareholders vote, it may be enough to keep L.Moon in our hands,â Sean 2/3 continued.
This time, L.Moon suffered because the shares they held were too few.
âBut they wonât agree to it, and theyâll immediately inform the Pearsons. Once the Pearsons find out that we want Fairy Meadow, they will definitely help them resolve the tax issue.â Abigail frowned.
Seanâs lips curved upward. âThatâs why we need to talk to Howard.â
Abigail looked at him, puzzled.
Sean adjusted his position and leaned in to explain to Abigail, âWe need to win Howard over, sign a confidentiality agreement with him, and have him persuade the other shareholders to sell their shares. Then, he can sell those shares to L.Moon. The benefit you can offer him is a share of the profits. As long as he continues to manage the company well, heâll remain Fairy Meadowâs CEO.â
Abigail found Seanâs approach rather dirty, but she couldnât deny its effectiveness.
âRight now, we need to make Howard one of us, or itâll be hard for Fairy Meadow to become L.Moonâs property. Even though the method is unscrupulous, this is often how battles in the business world are fought. You either publicly expose your opponentâs mistakes to make them vulnerable, launch a smear campaign in secret, or do what weâre doing.â Sean thought Abigail wasnât willing to do it, so he tried to convince her.
After all, he was a businessman.
Moreover, L.Moon had treated Fairy Meadow well at the beginning, and it was Fairy Meadowâs shareholders who had turned against them, wanting to get rid of L.Moon.
âIâll talk to Howard. How many shares do you think we should offer him?â Abigail was now so engaged in the conversation that she could temporarily forget the grudge she held him.
against âGive him a two percent stake, and heâll be making a great deal. If it werenât for the urgency of acquiring Fairy Meadow, he would have a hard time stumbling into such a great opportunity,â Sean uttered, ending his sentence with a cold snort.
Abigail nodded, taking his words to heart.
Before they knew it, they had arrived at the entrance of L.Moon.
As the car came to a stop, Abigail turned to Sean and commented, âThanks. See you tomorrow morning.â
