Chapter 34,Part1
Mob Protagonist ~ Mob in the Novel But There is a Problem
Chapter 34.1. Full-scale Level Up!
-Miuâs POV-
Violet poisonous clouds float in the dark sky, and sludge-colored poisonous swamps cover the ground. As it bubbled up, the poisonous swamp created a poisonous air that corroded the body, turning the land into a stagnant miasma world.
The stagnant air made it difficult to see what was ahead, and in this land of poor visibility, some figures were wandering, wobbling, and staggering. The figure was too thin and too tall in the miasma.
Every time it walks, it makes a squeaky sound while swaying its body.
A gust of wind blew the stagnant miasma, causing it to flow and dissipate. After the noxious miasma air blew away, all that remained was a dead tree. No, it is not a dead tree. It could not be just a dead tree.
Because the dead tree had split its roots into two halves and was walking with a leaning body, using them instead of its legs. The presence of monsters was there.
The slender trunk had knot holes like a face, and several purple butterflies with purple wings on their dead branches with their wings folded.
They made a creaking sound and walked, leaving footprints in the poisonous swamp. Their footprints soon sank into the mud and disappeared.
The dead tree seemed to roam this swamp forever, but then it stopped moving with a snap and tried to turn its hole in the trunk, which resembled a face as if it had noticed something.
Then it lifted the arm of the dead tree and slowly moved as if to check something.
â[Foxfire!]â
It gets shot with a flaming fireball that suddenly appears to leap out of space and burns its body.
âKika kika kika!â
The butterflies perched on trees flap their wings and leave to escape from the dead tree monsters covered in blazing flames. Eerily, the butterflyâs elongated body vertically splits and ticks and wriggles. Its mouth-like torso has irregular teeth, and its tongue-like proboscis licks its body.
âWow. Thatâs creepy! [Foxfire Barrage!]â
A girl appears in the space where the flame bullet was fired. She is a girl with fluffy fox ears and a tail. She wears a light black âmagic armorâ with gold lines and holds a dagger with a large ruby in her hand.
The poisonous butterflies flapped their wings, their faces pulled back, mouths appeared as if their bodies had been ripped open, and they released more firebombs.
Some of the butterflies burn and fall to the ground with a plop, disappearing into the mud, leaving only smoke in their wake.
âGet back!â
The fox girl steps back as she spins around in midair, her magical armor clad in the blue-white light of mana. In her place, a black-haired, black-eyed girl, who shouts sharply and puts on the armed, jet-black leotard-like magic armor, charges forward, waving her glossy black hair in a bun of pigtails.
She jumps up with a ton of lightness, stretches beautifully, and swings the sword in her hand.
[Flying Sword Slash].
As she slashes through space in succession, several blades that look like they are coated in jet black fly from her sword, cutting through the butterflies flying in the sky.
The butterflies are torn apart, leaving only a dead tree devoured by the flames instantly. Only a few butterflies still survived, and they flapped their wings, exposing their turbulent teeth on their bodies, to chase after the two girls.
[Light Chain Binding].
However, a chain made of light flies through the air and knocks the butterfly off. As the butterfly falls to dive into the mud, several adventurers appear, then check the butterfly, which cannot fly, and nod at each other with their faces.
Then they turn around and call out.
âCome on, now!â
âOh, I beat it!.â
From the back appeared a young girl with beautiful gray hair that looked silvery and still very young, with her beautiful gray hair flowing down her back.
âToi tei. Ei.â n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
And with that, her shimmering ice blue eyes darkly clouded, she crushed the butterfly, which flapped its wings violently in an attempt to fly away in the mud, with the mace in her hand.
âCongratulations, Miu-sama.â
âWoe, Iâm happy!â
The girl replies in a listless voice as she listens to the adventurers applauding and praising her. She smiles.
âYou did a great job, Tamamo-san. As if the game was decided with the first surprise attack. I didnât expect you to defeat the wandering tree that fasts.â
âYouâre amazing, Yamiyo-chan! You beat most of the poisonous butterflies that were there!â
High-fiving each other and happily praising each other are Aburage Tamamo and Teijo Yamiyo. Their faces are tearing up with joy that they worked well together.
Theyâre in the [Poison Swamp] Dungeon. Itâs a dungeon with many poisonous demons and many poisonous swamps. The gray-haired girl, Takano Miu, shake her shoulders at the sight of this friendly atmosphere.
Finally, unable to bear it any longer, I open my mouth. I stomp on the ground, my face red with anger, and I yell out.
âEntertainment golf! Itâs worse than entertainment golf! Let me fight like a normal person! Itâs boring! Itâs not funny!â
I exclaimed, my cheeks puffing up like a blowfish in frustration.
âThat, I want a normal fight too. The last 9 months. Iâve been like this most of the time, and I havenât had any real training, you know?â
Iâm a good girl and a gentle Miu. So, just in my heart, I yell, âUgaaaahhhâ.
âThat canât be helped, Mii-sama. Mii-sama is a recovery magician. Because everyone would protect you.â
âThatâs right, leave it to Tamamo and the others! Em-chan, save your mana for emergencies!â
Yamiyo notices my frustration and smiles gently to appease me. Tamamo puffed out her chest and gave a good thumbs up.
âI could fight too. Iâm not getting stronger at all!â
Come on, come on. Miu just said that.
âMiu-sama has grown as a recovery magician. Iâm sorry that you still havenât found a master recovery magic user, but no need to rush.â
The instructor patted Miu on the shoulder, telling me to calm down, but I donât need a recovery magician master. I donât need one. I want to say Iâll level up and learn magic on my own, but itâs a top-priority secret, so I feel frustrated that I canât say anything.
