Ark 3 - sweet sweet end

They arrived back at the base a few days later completely exhausted. From the initial fifty people only five remained and those that did survive were battered and bruised. They all looked like zombie's themselves when they staggered into the office of the chief, Zhao Yang taking the lead. Xu Dan, who had regained conciousness somewhere along their trip, was silently being held upright by Nian Zhei's strong grip.

Shu Ning tiredly rubbed his temple as he walked over to the couch, plopping onto the soft cushions and barely containing a moan of pleasure from the soft texture. He gestured Zhao Yang to take the seat next to him and when the man complied he scooted closet to rest his head on the other's shoulders. The rest of the humans just dropped down where they were standing.

Taking pitty on the pile of humans on the floor the chief called for some doctors to take care of their injuries. Shortly afterwards a group of casually dressed physicians strode through the door, poking and prodding the barely mooving individuals on the ground. As soon as the human's skin gained a more healthy color did the chief finally ask the question he had been dying to ask.

"What happenned with Xu Dan's arm?"

"Oh. He was trying to get Zhao Yang and myself killed by the zombie queen but instead got attacked by her. She must have ripped off his arm and eaten it. I already treated it as best I could and I also gave him some of the vaccine."

The chief's expression clouded over by Shu Ning's casual words and his mouth tightened into a thin line. Looking at the solem boy being held captive by Nian Zhei a conflicted look passed through his eye's and he dropped his head into his hands, completely worn out in seconds.

"That is bad. Very bad. Someone like that should be either killed by my hands immeadiately or given to the zombie's to be taken care off. But there is the problem with his abilities. His healing skills are the only advantage we have over those undeads. With Xu Dan dead we can not be sure humanity will survive the next year. I really don't know what to do now."

"Sir, your worries are understandable. I don't want him to die either, that's why I saved him. There must be some way we could make use of Xu Dan's abilities without endangering ourself with his presence. Give me some time to come up with something. Together with Hu Jin and some other people I should be able to create something usefull."

The chief looked sceptical at that but because he did not have any ideas himself he relented in the end. He gave one of the doctors a sign to take Xu Dan away to be treated before dismissing the other human's in the room to get some rest.

"Shi Wei. I'll keep Xu Dan tranquilized for now so that he can not escape again. Make sure you come up with something soon, otherwise I will have no choice but to kill him, alright?"

"Yes, sir."

He gave a slight salute towards the chief and then slipped out of the room together with Zhao Yang. The latter moved in closer to him, hesitatingly slinging one of his arms around Shu Ning's waist as they walked down the streets. A gentle kiss was placed onto his hair line and when he looked up he was met with the man's soft expression. Smiling at the other he raised onto the tips of his toes and placed a tender kiss onto the male's lips, drawing back before either of them could turn it into something more passionate.

"Let's go home. Our child is eagerly awaiting out return."

The next few weeks Shu Ning met up with Hu Jin and a few technicians to tinker with some electronic devices. As it was impossible to draw out someones abilities just with machineries, he unfortunately had to give up more of his system points to buy a small silver ring from the store. This small band would be able to store a large amount of energy inside of it and transforming it into a blue pill.

To make sure no one noticed such a powerfull device Shu Ning, with the help of Hu Jin and the technicians, created a misshapen metal helmet, imbedding the ring into the machine's forhead. Like this they managed to draw out Xu Dan's abilities while the boy was wearing the hood, using the pill as the new base of their vaccine. A more powerfull creation that even successfully battered the virus in high ranking zombie's

Thus the years passed. Xu Dan was kept imprisoned as a living energy source untill he died of old age. Humanities regained their footing in the world again, managing to reduce the undead's population to a manageable number. Shu Ning and Zhao Yang moved to another city where they adopted two more parentless children and helped the civilian's meet up with their lost family members that had become zombie's. Shi Juan and Hu Jin became a couple as well and followed the other two towards the country side when they descided to retire. Derwhile Shi Yong and his siblings joined the army to help catch and treat the infected people where they fell in love themselves. When Shu Ning and Zhao Yang passed away the humans from B-city and nearby towns all came together to hold the largest banquet in history in honor of their dead heroes.

When the last breath of life left his body, Shu Ning found himself standing back in the system space. He walked over to the king sized bed and heavily sat on the soft covers. Alphas glowing body floated over as well, hopping onto the sheets and roling around the remaining space.

Shu Ning: "Alpha. Stopp that. Show me my points."

Alpha: "Yes, sir."

The pale yellow color of the system turned a light gray as the ball sulkily stopped spinning next to Shu Ning's legs. The latter just roled his eyes at the system and teasingly poked it's rough surface.

Alpha: "Your points at the moment amount to 1390. From the main missions we have:

1. go to B-city Base ~ 2000 points

2. help develop vaccine ~ 2000 points

which you have both completed and the side missions were:

1. get ability ~ 500 points

2. reunite with parents ~ (FAILED)

Now your total points amount to 5890. Congratulation host for completing all main missions and one side mission. Please choose another skill to learn."

Infront of Shu Ning's eyes appeared a transparent screen filled with all the skills available to him. After scroling through it for a bit he found a skill that interessted him and tipped on it.

Shu Ning: "I wish to learn hacking and of corse further my training in my other skills."

Alpha: "Alright. The trainig space is being prepared for martial arts - grandmaster (completed), ettiquets - royalty (completed), swordsmanship - master (completed), medicin - general practitioner, cooking - gourme and hacking - programming. As the skill flirting - pillow talk  is already mastered it will not be included into your training regimen. Good luck host."

The air inside of the system space started to flimmer and blur around Shu Ning as he got transported into the training space. This time the room was divided into four squares. The upper right one contained a large metal table, framed by a refrigerator, a stove, a sink and in between those multiple counters. The lower right square was decorated as the control center of an IT-company, filled with computers of different sizes, all connected by a net of thin whires. The upper left corner was filled with about ten campbeds and on those campbeds lay humans of all ages and various stages of injuries and illnesses. Mostly just deeper cuts, concussions, broken limbs or internal pain. In the last square a lifelike hologram of a forest was installed and inside of this scenery hid a group of darkly dressed assassins.

After ten years of training Shu Ning finally left the system space again, being immediately transfered to the next world. Entering the new body of his made him feel slightly dizzy and he had to tightly shut his eyes for a second. When he opened them again he found himself lying on the hard ground, looking at the underside of a huge couch. The furniture was big enough to hold a horde of giants and the size of the coffee table far exceeded his own form.

Shu Ning picked himself up from the ground, staggering a few stepps before he dropped back onto the floor. Frowning in confusion he grabbed onto the coffee table and heaved himself back up onto his legs. Immediately his body started to sway again and shortly afterwards his legs gave out underneeth him. Cursing in his heart he hit his head on the ground before somersaulting a few meters over the wood.

As soon as his body stopped moving, Shu Ning looked down at his legs to find out what was going on and was met with dark sleek fur. Shocked, he scrambled over to the glass window to look at his reflexion. In it a tousled black cat was stupidly staring at him, going by it's short hair and round face it was probably a chartreux. One of the eyes gazing at him was blue and the other one green in color and the body of the feline looked thin and frail. It's whiskers twitched in resignation and Shu Ning solemnly laied back onto the ground, throwing one of his paws over his eyes.

Shu Ning: "Alpha.... You will be the death of me one day."

Alpha: "....."

Shu Ning: "Forget it. Give me the plot, alright?"

This world was technical very advanced. Ten years ago the company 'hitman corps' developed an online game by the name of 'adventures battle' where the players could experience a whole new world. They would have to put on a helmet onto their head, logg into their system and then their whole mentality would be downloaded into the game. Like this they could vividly feel every part of the game and walk it's earth with their own two legs. There was just one tiny problem. About half a year ago the game malfunctioned, trapping all of the players inside of it. Now only the automatic logg-out function after finishing the main plot line could save the captive people.

One of the players inside of 'adventures battle' is the protagonist of this world, Lan Cai. He found out about this game through a friend in school and they descided to try it out together. As a small and slender female he named Lan Quingyao, Lan Cai an his classmate started exploring this virtual reality. When the protagonist ranked up enough to choose a profession he selected the path of a magician, becoming very powerfull in a short amount of time. Thanks to that he attrackts the attention of multiple male players that quickly fell in love with him. Together with them and his classmate, Lan Cai formed a guild called 'Magical Lan', overtime taking over other guilds and becoming one of the five strongest groups.

At one point the protagonist goes out to hunt down a boss monster in the form of a large bird. As he is all alone and the creature has a higher rank than him he almost dies during the fight. Luckily he got rescued by another player. A male by the name of 'demonslayer'. Lan Cai fell head over heals in love with this person, making his harem clench their fists in jealousy. Those idiots start fighting against 'demonslayer''s guild 'Devil's Horn' making it into an all out war between the five most powerfull guilds. This only ends when Lan Cai get's injured trying to intervene and his classmate get's killed, dying in real life as well. The protagonist joyns 'Devil's Horn' in anger, ensuring a temporary truce between the fractions. For a short while the game world returns to a peaceful state, all wishing to reach the plot's end as soon as possible.

The protagonist and the guild of 'demonslayer' succeed in defeating the endboss first, managing to leave the game world. Still angry at the harem for killing his best friend, Lan Cai sends a virus into the system, causing the game to collaps and erasing the consciousness of everyone still inside. Afterwards he goes to search for the male he had fallen in love with but get's rejected. Thinking that it is because he does not look like Lan Quingyao he spends all of his money to change his sex and appearance into his gaming character.

When Lan Cai get's rejected yet again by his crush he pushes the male off from the balcony in anger. He is brough in by the police shortly after and stuck into a psychic ward for females where he get's impregnanted by his guard and later dies in labour.
