Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 279 What Is Happening Eleanorâs countenance darkened. The look on her face was as if she had a thousand knives stabbing at her.
Rachel looked up at everyone. Aware that she could not hide this matter from them, she could only nod.
Tom frowned slightly, giving her a frosty stare that could freeze the sun. âWhen do you intend to bring him here to meet us?â
âHeâs on a business trip. Itâs not convenient at the moment,â Rachel replied.
Tomâs eyes were fixed on Rachel. After a while, he said offhandedly, âRaeâRae, youâre still young. You have to learn to be wary of people. Otherwise, you may get cheated.â
Rachel seemed to have the feeling that Tom seemed to know something.
Since Tom had not exposed her, she decided to continue to act dumb.
âYes, I know.â
Eleanor glanced at the sky outside and started to look worried. âRaeâRae, itâs getting late. Stay here for the night.â
Rachel shook her head. She wanted to give David a call that night.
âIâve some matters to attend to. Iâll stay over another time.â
âAll right then. Be careful on your way home.â Eleanor watched as Rachel stood up. She, too, stood up.
When they were at the door, Eleanor reminded Lucas, âSend RaeâRae home and come back quickly. Youâre already an adult.
You shouldnât be hanging around her all the time. What if someone gets the wrong idea?â
Lucas was rendered speechless by Eleanorâs remark.
Lucas opened the car door and suddenly squinted. He looked at the forest path up in front, and a cold glint appeared in his eyes.
Rachel saw Lucas standing in front of the car door and did not get in for a long time. âWhatâs wrong?â
As she spoke, she followed Lucasâs line of sight and saw a car shielded by the darkness.
Although she could not see the license plate clearly, she vaguely recognized Louis was certain that he was missing some important information. However, the more he wanted to investigate, the more elusive the information was.
He raised his hand to massage his throbbing temples and ordered his assistant coldly, âHead back to the Smith residence.â
