Chapter 73 Continue to Stimulate Melinda
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
Emily wasn't ready to let it go. She pressed on, "This lab belongs to Raymond. I decide who stays and who goes. After all, I'm going to be Raymond's future wife."
Delilah felt awkward, but Melinda had had enough.
"Call security. She's not Raymond's wife yet. She can come back and throw her weight around when she actually is."
"Melinda, do you even care?" Emily shot back, refusing to back down.
"I get what I want on my own. I don't need to rely on a man or beg for special treatment. Once the novelty wears off, I'll just be another discarded piece of clothing."
"Your mouth is so sharp. Fine, I won't argue with you. But there's a personal matter I need to discuss with her alone. You can leave now," Emily said, suddenly stopping Delilah.
Delilah glanced worriedly at Melinda but eventually turned and left. As soon as she was gone, Emily's expression turned even colder.
With a smug smile, Emily said, "I came here specifically to tell you some good news. The father of your child is now penniless, alone, and sick. He'll never be able to have children again. When he found out he had a son, he wanted to come back. I gave him some money to persuade him not to bother you. How nice of me, right?"
Her smile grew more sinister, filled with malice.
A wave of hatred surged in Melinda's heart. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. "Emily, why are you doing this to me? You ruined my reputation, and now you won't even leave my child alone. Are you even human?"
Melinda wished she could shut Emily up for good.
"Melinda, five years ago, didn't you enjoy sleeping with that man? You even had a child with him. If you didn't love him, why did you have his baby? You're just cheap."
Emily picked up a teacup, but at that moment, a cup of tea was thrown in her face, ruining her carefully applied makeup.
Furious, Emily pointed at Melinda. "You... you dared to throw tea at me!"
Melinda stood up, her gaze icy as she stared at Emily. "Emily, what wouldn't I dare? If you mess with my child, I'll tell Raymond all about your dirty deeds. Do you think he'll still marry, you then?"
Emily froze, glaring at Melinda with gritted teeth but not daring to make a move. Melinda snorted, leaving with a final, "Don't push your luck!" and slammed the door behind her.
Ten minutes later, Delilah walked into Melinda's office. "Melinda, I told the front desk and security that this woman can't come in without your permission. This isn't her playground."
"Thank you!"
Melinda smiled faintly, a hint of bitterness in her eyes. "Some things you can't avoid, no matter how much you want to."
After tidying up the lab with Delilah, she took a cab to the Thomas Group building.
Melinda took a deep breath, composed herself, and knocked on the CEO's office door. Stuart was in the middle of a report.
Raymond frowned slightly as Melinda's voice came through clearly. "It's Melinda. May I come in?"
Stuart quickly opened the door, smiling at Melinda. "Good afternoon, Ms. Sharp." Melinda walked in, her eyes involuntarily drawn to Raymond.
He wore a pristine white shirt, exuding an air of elegance. The shirt's fabric was
exquisite, with diamond-studded cufflinks and collar buttons. His deep eyes seemed to
see through people, and his handsome face held a faint, aloof smile.
"What's the matter?"
Melinda nodded. "Can we talk alone?"
Raymond looked at her in surprise but nodded. Stuart left the room.
"Go ahead."
Melinda's voice turned cold. "Can you control your woman?"
"Which woman?"
Raymond was taken aback. He hadn't expected Melinda to come to him about this. He frowned. "Emily?"
"Glad you know." Melinda's tone was filled with frustration and anger.
"Wait a minute!" His voice was low and commanding.
Melinda turned back, narrowing her eyes at him. "Can you tell me what happened?"
Raymond glared at her, then stood up and walked over. "I've told you many times, she's not my woman. Why don't you believe me?" He reached out to grab her arm. But Melinda sidestepped him. "That's your problem."
Raymond looked at her and suddenly said, "You came to me. Fine, let's go find Emily and clear this up."
Melinda was stunned. Was Raymond serious? Why was he doing this? But when she saw the determination in his eyes, she knew he was.
She smiled slightly. "Mr. Thomas, aren't you afraid of hurting Emily's feelings?" Raymond's gaze was fixed on her. "You're the only one I care about."
"Mr. Thomas, you say that, but why did you get involved with Emily? She claims to be your future wife. Did I imagine that? And you gave her a diamond necklace after spending a night with her."

Raymond watched her leave, a slight smile on his lips. Melinda never listened to his explanations, always going her own way.
Late at night, Melinda tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She kept thinking about Raymond's domineering, handsome face, her emotions in turmoil.
In the cover of night, many feelings didn't need to be hidden.
She didn't understand why it bothered her so much to hear Emily say the necklace was from Raymond.
Meanwhile, Emily was waiting for Raymond to contact her, but the entire day passed without a word.
Unable to wait any longer, she called Raymond. It was the weekend, and he should be resting at home. Maybe she still had a chance.
Raymond had just finished a video conference and was resting on the couch with his eyes closed.
The phone's vibration was too loud. Annoyed, he glanced at the screen and saw "Emily."
He frowned but answered the call.
"Hello, Emily. What is it?" Raymond's voice was cold and calm.
"Raymond, I was wrong. I want to talk to you in person."
"About what?" Raymond responded indifferently.
Emily quickly said, "Raymond, I went to a church to have a priest bless a necklace. I
want to give it to you for protection."
Raymond's brows furrowed at her words.
He never believed in such superstitions.
