“Why don’t you just let Huo Zihang marry that Leng Yuxi? You don’t fancy her anyway.”

Huo Xishen’s face immediately became sullen.

Yan Jinyi actually wanted Leng Yuxi to call her ‘Sister-in-law’ so that she could humiliate her when the time comes.

She could also kill two birds with one stone by humiliating Bai Moliang too.

“Impossible.”

Yan Jinyi raised her eyebrows and asked, “What? You can’t bear to?”

“Darling, if you have what it takes to do that, take it that I didn’t say anything.”

Of course, she didn’t.

Only after getting off the plane did Yan Jinyi see the text that Shen Yan had sent her to invite her to have dinner together. Shen Yan had returned to China with her suitor.

“Yan Yan’s suitor shares the same last name as her. His full name is Shen Guanzhou. He’s got a nice name, eh? He’s an architect and he’s very compatible with Yan Yan.”

Yan Jinyi continued to sing praises about Shen Guanzhou and she said, “Shen Guanzhou is very handsome too, a perfect match for the beautiful Shen Guanzhou. It’ll be so much better for Yan Yan to be with him, at least she doesn’t have to suffer like she did with Chengyu.”

At this point, Yan Jinyi sighed and said, “I’ll bear all the brunt and shoulder the suffering in the Huo Family alone. Yan Yan shouldn’t have to suffer, she should live a blissful life alone.”

He felt that she was driving at something else.

“Darling, do you mean that you’re not happy living with the Huo Family?”

“Others get to marry the people they love but I married you because of an agreement. Everyone’s saying that we should advocate the freedom to love these days but that doesn’t seem to be true at all.”

Huo Xishen humphed coldly and said, “Darling, you seem to be full of regrets.”

Yan Jinyi ignored the cold aura of his body and his eyes lit up. “How about this? Let’s not hold each other back anymore and go straight to get a divorce?”

“Don’t even think about it,” Huo Xishen said coldly.

Yan Jinyi was displeased. “What do you mean?”

“I lost our marriage certificate.”

“So?”

“We can’t get a divorce without a marriage certificate.”

‘No big deal.’

“Go get a new one.”

“I can’t.”

Yan Jinyi wanted to continue with it but Huo Xishen suddenly instructed the chauffeur to stop the car and turned around to push open the car door on Yan Jinyi’s side. “Shen Yan invited you to dinner, right? You may leave now.”

‘Doggy Huo, you changed the subject!’

‘But I won’t hold it against you today on Yan Yan’s account.’

Watching Yan Jinyi leave, Huo Xishen somehow heaved a sigh of relief.

‘She can forget about divorcing me in this lifetime.’

The first thing Huo Xishen did when he returned home was to place the marriage certificate in the safe. After giving it some thought, he asked the servant for a plastic bag from the grocery store.

After packing up, he finally headed downstairs calmly.

Huo Chengyu happened to have returned at this point. Recently, he had been working at the hospital and it was said that his appointments were all postponed for a few months.

It was obvious who ‘Miss Shen’ referred to.

There were no fluctuations in Huo Chengyu’s emotions as he still looked like the aloof, noble and wealthy gentleman he was. “They’re pretty close to each other.”

“I heard that Miss Shen brought her boyfriend-to-be back with her this time.” Huo Xishen squinted and glanced at Huo Xishen. “Chengyu, sometimes, when you lose a person, you’ll never get to have them back again.”

“It was a marriage arranged by our families in the first place, so there’s nothing to lose for me.”

He picked up the book that he had left on the coffee table before leaving and flipped through it before saying, “I’ll head upstairs now.”

“Chengyu, it would be better to address Jinyi as your sister-in-law.”
