The police came over and asked Ye Shaoguang’s uncle, “Are you the father of Ye Weiguang?”

Ye Shaoguang’s uncle nodded his head. “Yes, I am.”

Actually, he already knew what his son had done but he could not do anything about it now, so he pretended to not know anything.

“Your son is suspected to be involved in a prostitution ring and conducting an orgy...” the police said. “We will not detain him for now because he is hospitalized. When he’s discharged we will transfer him to the judiciary.”

The police left two of their men to watch over the place while the rest went back.

Ye Shaoguang’s uncle had a somber expression on his face—so somber that it almost looked like water would spill out. He was someone who always valued his reputation, but now his face was haggard with the shame his son brought to him.

Even if he ignored the prostitutes, he took so many aphrodisiacs that he almost killed himself. However, it did not matter even if he managed to live—the rest of his life was meaningless. What was the meaning of a man who lived like a eunuch?

Ye Shaoguang’s uncle walked into the ward, expression stony.

The lady doctor pursed her lips. “Hmph. So what if you’re a Ye?” she said.

This mouthy female doctor who did not fear the Ye family was the daughter of Luo City’s newly-appointed Mayor Li. As a businessman, Ye Shaoguang frequently networked with the city government. Of course, he would do a thorough background check on the new mayor.

Doctor Li studied Ye Shaoguang. “You’re a Ye too...”

Ye Shaoguang nodded. “That’s right. I’m one too!”

Doctor Li’s lips pressed tight together. Ye Shaoguang could not help but laugh at the doctor. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and strode off.

A grin was plastered on Ye Shaoguang’s face. He walked until he reached the outside of Ye Weiguang’s ward, observing the scene inside.

The doctors and nurses were trying to lower Ye Weiguang’s body temperature, and they even gave him IVs. The results were not evident, however. The medicine he took was just too strong.

Ye Weiguang’s consciousness was fading. His entire body burned as hot as firewood, his eyes were bloodshot, and his face was so red it looked like it was about to explode. Veins throbbed continuously at his forehead, neck, and arm.

Ye Shaoguang gave a once-over at Ye Weiguang’s lower body. A sigh inadvertently escaped him. How large of a dosage did that pig take? He was looking for death.

This was probably the stupidest way to commit suicide in the world.

Ye Shaoguang suddenly felt relieved that he had not crossed swords with Yue Tingfeng lately.

Otherwise, he was not sure how horrific the consequences would be if he ended up on that man’s hit list.

If he was right though, this was far from over. The riposte of the Ye family was still to come.
