Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 96
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
That was the first thing Rory saw when he came out.
He stood there, glancing at the two people in front of him. When his eyes landed on the necklace around Devinâs neck, he felt as though his heart had been stabbed by a knife.
He remembered that simple necklace. One time, he went back to his room and saw Becky taking off her bracelet. It was then that he realized it was a manâs necklace.
Rory had a good memory. In the three years that Becky had been married to him, she had never taken that article of jewelry off.
Although he knew it was a menâs necklace, he never thought it was a big deal that Becky was wearing it.
After all, he didnât love Becky. He didnât give a damn about who she was wearing it for.
But now that he saw the necklace around Devinâs neck, he felt a strong urge to rip it off.
Devinâs voice brought him back to his senses. âAnything we can help you with, Mr. Casper?â
As Devin spoke, there was a certain light in his eyes, as though he was showing off his trophy to Rory.
With a straight face, Rory walked past Devin and glanced at Becky, who was standing behind Devin. âYouâre good at playing these games.â
And to think he had actually worried that sheâd be fooled by Devin. How foolish!
Beckyâs good mood was completely ruined. The bitter and unresolved feelings at the bottom of her heart resurfaced, causing her to throw caution to the wind. She took a step forward and reached out to hold Devinâs hand. Then she looked into Roryâs eyes and smiled slightly. âI did not expect such a compliment from you, but thank you.â
Roryâs expression instantly darkened.
Devin lowered his head and studied Beckyâs expression. Squeezing her hand a little, he said lightly, âDonât worry about him. Heâs irrelevant.â
As he spoke, he raised his hand and gently tucked a stray hair behind Beckyâs ear. Then he led her to his car and opened the door for her.
It was rare for Becky to cooperate, but this time, she obediently got in the car.
Devin quickly trotted over to the other side, got into the driverâs seat, and started the car. In a few seconds, the car disappeared from Roryâs sight.
He watched them leave, thinking about Devin and Beckyâs intimate kiss just now.
Just then, Aiken came out, only to find Rory standing outside with a long face. âWhatâs the matter with you? You hungry now?â
Without even looking at him, Rory got into his car.
He slammed the door behind him so hard that the bystanders felt a jolt.
Seeing the car in the distance, Aiken clicked his tongue. âWhatâs wrong with him?â
In the past, Rory had never given Becky, his wife, the light of day. But ever since they divorced, whenever he ran into her, he always looked at her as though she owed him millions of dollars.
Noticing this, Keenan commented, âHeâs being possessive.â
Aiken didnât understand. âHuh?â
Keenan rolled his eyes. âLet me ask you a question. How would you feel if your ex-wife found a new partner faster than you?â
Aiken paused for a while and then said, âHow would I feel? Iâd want her to be happy, of course. I mean, we divorced already, and she didnât cheat on me!â
Hearing Aikenâs response, Keenan didnât know what to say.
âIn that case, just forget what I said.â
