Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 94
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
Aiken felt that it wasnât his lucky day today. It had taken him a lot of effort to persuade Rory for a midnight snack in the newly opened restaurant. But he hadnât expected Becky to be there too.
What was worse, she was there with Devin, Roryâs competitor and the one who had announced that he would be pursuing Becky.
Aiken regretted his choices once he realized what was happening. It would be better if they came here another day.
To some degree, they werenât Beckyâs friends. An hour ago, Aiken had greeted Becky, but she had not reciprocated or replied.
Aiken understood that Becky didnât intend to interact with any of Roryâs friends. And such behavior was understandable.
This time, Aiken behaved himself, standing to the side and looking straight ahead without saying a word.
Anyway, he shouldnât be the one to feel embarrassed.
Becky took one glance at Rory before walking past him.
She had just walked some distance when Rory suddenly burst out, âDo you think that what you are doing will make me jealous?â
Becky stopped at his words and turned to face him. She looked at him and asked with a smile, âAre you talking to me?â
Her smile was devoid of happiness and didnât reach her eyes.
Rory felt uncomfortable under Beckyâs gaze. She had never looked at him like this or spoken such unpleasant words to him.
Rory frowned, his expression darkening instantly. âDonât play hard to get. Do you think Iâm going to buy it?â
Aiken sucked in a sharp breath at this. Rory had gone too far this time.
Becky looked at him, shocked, before bursting into angry laughter. âYou think Iâm playing hard to get? I wonder what gave you the impression that I still love you. What makes you so confident?â
Before Rory could answer, Becky continued, âIf you donât remember, let me remind you that we are divorced. Iâm not a recycle bin and I wonât accept trash like you.â
Then, she looked at Aiken and added, âIf you still donât understand what Iâm saying, just ask Aiken. Iâm sure he will explain it to you.â
She then turned around and left.
Aiken took a deep breath before looking at Rory and saying, âRory, Becky just called you trash.â
He was shocked. This was the first time he had seen someone who dared to lash out at Rory like that.
Aikenâs words annoyed Rory even more and his face darkened into a storm.
Keenanâs eyebrows shot up as he watched Devin chase after Becky. He turned to look at Rory and said, âYou might be flattering yourself.â
Rory felt as if Becky had slapped him. He stood still, feeling utterly lost.
To Keenanâs comments, Aiken added, âI think Becky is doing a good job in avoiding any interaction with you after your divorce.
She doesnât even greet us anymore. I agree with Keenan. You are flattering yourself.â
Aikenâs gloating tone annoyed Rory even more. He glared at him and asked, âAre you Beckyâs friend or mine?â
Aiken merely smiled and said, âIâm just telling the truth.â
âThen go be her friend from now on!â
Aiken raised his eyebrows and said, âNo problem. But the point is that they donât like interacting with me.â
Roryâs anger seemed to erupt off the top of his head. âGo to hell!â
