Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 45
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
On the drive home, the car suddenly died. Uneasy, Jessie couldnât remain composed. âReally? This had to happen this late at night?â
Frowning, Becky unfastened her seat belt and said, âLet me check it first.â
As she spoke, she got out of the car and popped the hood to see what was wrong.
Becky didnât know much about cars, but it seemed that hers had broken down.
Jessie got out of the car and walked over to check. âIs something broken?â
Becky sighed. âYes.â
Jessie was right about her guess.
She pouted. âWhat should we do now?â
âCall someone to fix it, of course.â
How could they spend the night there dressed like this?
Becky then took her phone out to call Talia.
Her reliable assistant answered her call promptly. Upon hearing about Beckyâs plight, Talia said that sheâd be there in fifteen minutes and a tow truck would arrive in about twenty minutes.
âOkay. Thank you, Talia.â
âNo problem, Miss Ramos. Please take care, you and Miss Walker.â
Talia still remembered what happened last time. It wasnât safe for two gorgeous women to be stranded by the road at night with a broken-down car.
âOkay.â
After hanging up, Becky went to the back seat, pulled out the warning sign, and put it behind the car.
As soon as she set up the warning sign, a Maserati pulled to a stop beside her.
The back window rolled down slowly, revealing Aikenâs charming face. He asked enthusiastically, âBecky, did your car break down? Do you need any help?â
Becky glanced at him indifferently, and from the corner of her eye, she could see the side profile of the man sitting next to Aiken.
She smiled faintly and said, âNo, thanks.â
âDonât be a stranger, Becky. Itâs clear you could use some help.â
âBut I donât like accepting help from others,â Becky said calmly, her smile unwavering.
Aiken was rendered speechless.
Suddenly, the cold man sitting in the car next to Aiken spoke up. âDrive.â
Aiken was taken aback. He frowned and pointed out, âRory, their car broke down. We canât just leave them.â
âNot my problem.â
Becky heard him say this clearly.
Sure enough, the car started and slowly took off.
The smile on Beckyâs face gradually faded.
Jessie cursed at the Maserati. Becky chuckled. âWell, forget it. And donât talk like that. People will think youâre crazy.â
âI... Iâm just pissed off!â Jessie pouted. âThe bastard is so arrogant.â
Becky walked back to her car and brought out two bottles of water. âJust wait. Talia will be here in fifteen minutes or so.â
Talia arrived earlier than expected.
âMiss Ramos,â she greeted.
Becky smiled apologetically. âSorry to have bothered you so late.â
Talia shook her head adamantly. âMiss Ramos, Iâm at your service. Please donât apologize.â
Then she handed her car keys to Becky and said, âPlease go home with Miss Walker. Iâll stay and wait for the tow truck.â
Now it was Beckyâs turn to shake her head adamantly. Talia was also a woman. It wasnât safe for her to wait here alone. âIâll leave when the tow truck gets here.â
Seeing that she had made up her mind, Talia didnât insist. She nodded, and the three of them leaned against Beckyâs car, waiting for the tow truck.
Minutes later, Devinâs sports car pulled to a stop nearby. Seeing this, Jessie looked at Becky meaningfully and murmured, âWell, I guess you donât have to drive yourself home, Becky.â
Becky glanced at her and joked, âDonât worry. Iâll take you with me.â
âI donât want to be the third wheel,â Jessie whined.
Becky snorted. âItâs not up to you.â
While they were bickering, Devin got out of the car and asked, âDid your car break down?â
He trotted over casually as though he was close to Becky.
âYes,â Becky said indifferently âDid you call a tow truck?â
âYes.â
Speaking of the devil, the tow truck finally arrived.
