Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 220
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
Devin looked at Becky, smiling.
He paused for a few seconds before saying, âI donât have a new girlfriend.â
And he didnât have ex-girlfriends, either.
âYouâre not supposed to be telling me this,â Becky said, meeting his gaze.
They looked at each other in silence, neither wanting to be the first to surrender.
Finally, Becky gave up and said, âI need to leave.â
âOkay,â Devin said. He stood there, looking at Becky the same way as before.
Becky didnât know what to say and instead, looked at Talia, who thought that Becky was trying to tell her something. âMiss Ramos?â she said quizzically.
Becky was embarrassed. She shook her head and said, âNothing.â Then, she continued on her way out.
Before Talia followed Becky out, she looked at Devin, only to find that he was still looking at Becky. She looked at Becky, who managed to cover quite some distance, and hurried to catch up with her.
Devin stood still, watching Beckyâs retreating back until she disappeared out of sight. He then turned to look at the man not far away. âDo you love peeping?â
Roryâs face darkened at these words and he walked up to Devin. âWhat are you up to, Devin?â
Devin looked at Rory with a sneer as he said, âDid I do anything?â
Rory didnât want to waste his time talking nonsense with Devin. âYou are free to do whatever you want except for hurting Becky!
You are naive if you think taking revenge on me by playing with Beckyâs feelings is a good idea.â
Devin clicked his tongue. He smiled, but his eyes were cold. âYouâre going to be thirty this year, arenât you, Rory?â he asked, amused.
âSo what?â
Rory and Devin were of the same age. If Devin wanted to point out that Rory was old, he needed to take a look at himself.
âYouâre thirty years old. Why are you still so childish? Do you think Iâm still playing the same trick with you? The fact that Iâm pursuing Becky has nothing to do with you,â Devin said, enunciating each word.
But Rory didnât believe it. They had been opponents for many years and he knew well the kind of man Devin was. âI wonât buy it.
If you do something bad to Becky, I wonât let you go.â
Devinâs amusement increased at this. âIf my memory serves me right, it has been eight months since you and Becky divorced, hasnât it?â
Devinâs words were like a knife stabbing at Roryâs heart.
But what he said next made Rory even more desperate. âAs an ex-husband, you are in no position to poke your nose into what happens between Becky and me. And this is the last time that Iâll tell you this, Rory, that Iâm serious about Becky. I want to marry her and be with her until death does us apart.â
The expression on Roryâs face shifted slightly, but he soon came to his senses. He suppressed his emotions and sneered, âThe story of a playboy turning his life around only exists in novels. Youâd better behave yourself!â
Then, Rory turned around, intending to walk out of the hotel.
But he had barely taken a few steps when Devinâs voice sounded from behind him.
âRory, I have loved Becky for many years.â
