Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 211
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
Becky kept her mouth shut which made Jessie flustered.
Jessie then tugged Beckyâs sleeve and said, âIf punching me will make you feel better, then just do it!â
Becky came to her senses and eyed Jessie up and down. âWell, you better figure out which parts of your body can withstand a punch.â
Becky didnât want to dwell on it any longer. Whether or not Rory knew about it was no longer her concern. From now on, she had nothing to do with him.
She hoped that they would never cross paths again.
After all, she just said that to Rory.
If she kept arguing with Jessie about this, she would end up breaking her promise.
Becky didnât want to develop that habit. She pinched Jessieâs face and smiled. âHave you eaten yet?â
When Jessie saw that Becky raised her hand, she thought that Becky was about to hit her. Jessie then subconsciously covered her head with her hands.
Silly girl! Becky wasnât going to punch her.
Jessie didnât feel a punch land on her. Instead, she felt a pinch on her cheek. She then heard Becky ask her if she had eaten yet.
Jessie was stunned. So that was it?
âNo, no yet.â
Becky furrowed her brows. âIâve brought some food with me. You can sit next to Louisa and grab some.â
Jessie suddenly regretted what she did. âIâm sorry, Becky. Itâs all my fault.â
âYou can cry over it. Just donât get your snot on my clothes.â
Beckyâs reply completely ruined the atmosphere.
Jessie stood up and said, âWell, then, Iâll just go get something to eat.â
Her stomach rumbled as soon as she finished speaking.
Becky was slightly amused by how Jessie handled the situation. She glanced at her and joked, âI think youâre belly wants to say something.â
Jessie was starving, so she immediately went off and grabbed a bite to eat.
Becky walked slowly behind her. When Louisa saw that Becky was back, she continued to convince her. âBecky, are you really not going to help me?â
Jessie narrowed her eyes and asked, âWhat do you mean?â
âIâll be having a party tonight. I invited a lot of people to come to the show, but I havenât found someone to play the party queen yet!â
Jessie understood. âSo you want Becky to be the party queen?â
Louisa glanced at Becky and nodded.
Becky grabbed a glass of juice and pretended that she didnât hear it.
Louisa knew that she couldnât convince Becky, so she turned to Jessie and whispered, âCan you convince Becky to help? Iâll give you half of tonightâs profits if she agrees.â
Jessieâs eyes lit up. âHow much money are you going to make tonight?â
âAbout three hundred thousand dollars, and thatâs just the rough estimate.â
âWow!â Jessie exclaimed. âYou got a deal!â
This way, she could use the money to buy a new bag. Only a fool would refuse that much money.
After she had swallowed the food in her mouth, Jessie moved to Beckyâs side of the table with her lunch box. âSo Becky...â
But before she could even ask her, Becky rebuked, âDonât even think about it.â
Becky then placed her glass down on the table. âNow that Iâve brought your food here, I should probably go home. I have to get to work early tomorrow for a meeting.â
She stood up from her chair and was about to leave.
Louisa anxiously nudged Jessieâs arm.
Jessie badly wanted to get the one hundred and fifty dollars. She had lost her appetite.
She dropped her fork and jumped out of her chair to chase Becky.
As soon as Becky walked out of the door, she bumped into an acquaintance of hers.
It was Devin.
A beautiful woman was standing beside him.
