Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 180
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
Becky smiled as she took the shoes and put them on.
She was surprised to find that they were exactly her size.
Becky was about five foot five, but she had relatively small feet. People who didnât know her well obviously didnât know about her foot size.
She looked at Devin and said, âI finally understand why your ex-girlfriends never say anything bad about you.â
Devinâs eyebrows shot up before he relaxed and said, âThese shoes have been specially prepared for you. So are the Band-
Aids.â
Becky tilted her head to the side as she studied him. âThank you. Iâm moved.â
âI know, I know. You are moved by my actions, but you are still refusing my advances, arenât you?â
Becky smiled but didnât say anything. The implication was obvious.
It looked like Devin didnât care. He smiled and started the car. âCome with me. Just for my sake.â
Becky agreed, her gaze fixed on the white shoes she was wearing.
After all, courtesy demands reciprocity.
Twenty minutes later, they came to a stop in a parking lot.
Becky couldnât tell where they were. She didnât understand where Devin wanted to take her.
It was drizzling. Becky felt a chill run through her as she opened the door.
She became distracted by the cold and the rain and didnât notice anything until a coat wrapped around her.
She turned to look at Devin and said, âItâs not so cold actually.â
âDonât push it. You havenât recovered from your cold yet,â Devin said.
He raised a hand to touch Beckyâs head. Becky froze for a long moment before she said, âDonât mess up my hairstyle.â
âDonât worry. Itâs all good.â
Devin got out of the car, umbrella in hand, and walked around to her. He stretched out a hand and said, âIf you will.â
Becky looked hesitantly at Devinâs outstretched hand. She decided not to accept his kindness and got out of the car on her own.
Devin didnât mind her silent refusal. Instead, he withdrew his hand calmly and tilted his umbrella to protect Becky from the rain.
The night was chilly, with the wind and rain wreaking havoc.
Becky felt Devinâs warmth envelop him through his coat.
She turned to look wordlessly at him, who was now only wearing a thin shirt.
When they arrived at the entrance to the arcade, Becky stopped and asked, âAre you taking me here to play arcade games?â
Devin turned to look at her. âWhy not?â he asked back.
She smiled as she said, âWe can, of course. But is it appropriate? I mean, look at us!â
Both of them got dressed up. They looked stunning in their get-up. Devin looked like a superstar.
Becky was gorgeous in her dress, too. The shift from wearing heels to flats didnât change much about her beauty.
Devin pulled Becky into the arcade and asked, âIs there any problem with what weâre wearing?â
âNo.â
At this, he pulled her further inside.
They had come here from a banquet and they looked like superstars. Because of this, they caught peopleâs attention as soon as they walked in.
Some young girls thought they were celebrities and hounded them for autographs. But Devin refused them, a rather haughty smile on his lips.
At first, Becky thought that Devin was joking when he said they were here to play arcade games.
But when she saw that he got a lot of game coins, she realized that he meant it.
