Chapter 29

Epilogue

Send It To My Phone

Krissy was hard at work within her studies. She would only take breaks when she deemed it necessary. She didn't want to waste anytime on useless, unimportant things. The only time you would ever find her without a book was when Blake Tyler was on tv.

It had been a year since she last saw him. Their first year of university was soon coming to an end. Blake promised to come to Connecticut for the summer, but Krissy knew he would not. He loves California, the warmth and the sand. There was nothing that could pull him away, so she thought.

Every time Blake was on the field, he would subconsciously look for the girl of his dreams. The girl he couldn't seem to forget. He wished that there was a possibility for them to be closer but he knew it was impossible. She didn't want to leave Harvard and he didn't want to go back to Connecticut. Their lives were different and he hated that he couldn't do anything about it.

Sometimes he wished that he could go back in time and start over. He wished he would have fallen for the nerd instantly instead of months later, but it was too late. All he had were memories and regrets. His fondest memory was when he said he loved her. He knew in that moment that with all the obstacles in life, she was always going to be there for him. Even now, 3000 miles away, he still loved her.

"Yo bro! Come on!" One of his fellow teammates shouted. He looked up and saw that coach was waiting for him. He shook his head trying to free his thoughts. He needed to focus. It was the final practice where the coach would decide who ultimately stays on the team. Blake wasn't worried. He knew that no matter what happens he would always have her.

-

Krissy finally decided to take a break from studying. She knew all the material and only had one final left. She would then be done with her first year of college. Hoping to become a lawyer, she knew she had many more years to go.

The only thing that stopped her from being happy for the summer vacation was knowing that her best friends weren't coming home. They all had their own lives and their own friends. Krissy was stuck in Connecticut, alone.

Her phone started to vibrate uncontrollably, earning her a few glares from those around her. She quickly packed up her school things and exited the library. She set foot in the crisp April air, wrapping her jacket around her body. Even if it was about to be summer, the weather said other wise.

Looking down at her phone, she saw that she had a missed call from the one and only Blake Tyler. Her heart rate began to pick up. She hadn't been able to talk to him for more than a few minutes since Christmas. He was hard at work in California, earning his degree and playing the game he loves. He would try to make time for her but life always interrupted them. It was either football practice or class. Nothing was on their side.

Quickly calling him back, she felt the butterflies in her stomach start to squirm. She was excited to hear his voice again, making her wish that she could be in his arms. She missed him and hope that he could come home for even a day, but she knew that he had summer practice to worry about.

"Hey." She heard Blake say. She sighed, the feeling of sadness coming to her. She tried to hide it before replying to her boyfriend.

"Hi Blake." She said softly. He chuckled. She quickly found an empty bench and sat down. She was fighting off the tears that were threatening to spill. She hadn't realized how off she felt without him. She wanted nothing more than to be in his arms.

Blake found his way onto the Harvard campus. He looked around for that brunette he hadn't seen in almost a year. He felt bad that he couldn't come home during any of the breaks. Football was his new life and it was uncontrollable. He wished he could make it up to her and now he could.

The moment his coach said they had a two week break before summer practices, he took a flight home. He had been buzzing with anticipation the entire ride. He couldn't wait to see the girl he left behind.

"Where are you?" Blake asked Krissy. She looked around, hoping to see him but she knew better than that. He wouldn't be coming home anytime soon. She had to let go of that fantasy.

"I'm outside the library on a bench. Finals are coming up and I was busy studying." She told him. Blake felt bad about interrupting her learning but he needed to see her.

He quickly looked around for the building filled with students studying. All he could see was the union and other buildings that he didn't need. He huffed and began to run down the sidewalk. Ignoring the glares from others, he began to search for her.

"What are you doing?" Krissy asked. She could hear his panting. She hoped that he wasn't at weights. That meant he only had a couple of minutes to talk. She wanted to be able to tell him everything he had missed while he's been gone.

"Running." Blake told her. He took a turn and saw the giant building. He knew luck was on his side. He quickly came to a stop and looked for the girl of his dreams. He knew she was sitting on a bench.

He looked around and quickly found her. She was sitting down with her hand on her face. Focusing on the call, he heard her hold back a sob. He sighed. He knew how much she missed him. He wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms and kiss her, and now he finally could.

He walked over to the bench, her back turned towards him. She wiped the tears away, earning another sad sigh from him. She knew she shouldn't be crying, but life was difficult without him.

"How long do you have to talk?" Krissy asked. Blake grinned at the question. She was going to flip when she saw him. He quickly walked around the bench, seeing her looking down. She was looking at her boots. She had decided to wear dark wash jeans with brown knee high riding boots. She paired them with a Harvard sweater. She had school spirit which she had never really done before.

She saw a pair of dirty, black Converse come into her view. She didn't know who had come up to her but she was annoyed that they had. They were interrupting her phone call. Quickly looking up, she gasped.

"I have all day princess." Blake said to her. He quickly hung up the phone and pulled her up from the bench. Wrapping his arms around her, he finally felt at ease. He had missed this and wished he had never left.

Krissy could not believe her eyes. Blake Tyler was standing in front of her with the most gorgeous smile she had ever seen. She felt the tears start to fall as he pulled her off the bench. She wrapped her arms around his neck, breathing in the scent she had missed. Her whole world finally felt right as they stood there in their embrace. She relaxed, not wanting to ever let go.

"I missed you so much." She mumbled into his chest. He chuckled.

"I missed you so much more. I didn't know how hard it was going to be to not be able to see you, hold you, kiss you. I wanted nothing more than to drop everything and come home." Blake told her. His chin was resting on the top of her head. His missing piece was finally back in his life.

"So what are you doing here?" Krissy asked. She was very confused as to why he was here in New Haven. She was unbelievably surprised that he was here, but she was also concerned. Did he not have football or school? He didn't quit, did he? No, he couldn't have.

"I had finals last week so Coach gave us two weeks off before summer practices begin. As soon as those words left his mouth, I had to come and see you. I missed you too much babe." Blake replied. He hugged her close before slightly pulling away. Krissy looked up confused at the sudden gesture but found the answer when Blake connected their lips.

Bombs and fireworks went off as their lips touched, sending sparks throughout their bodies. It was unrealistic and electrifying. It only seemed to power them more. Krissy's arms wrapped around his neck, hoping to become closer. She frowned into this kiss, not being able to be as close as she hoped. She felt an undying need that needed to be satisfied.

"Let's go to my dorm." She found herself saying. Blake nodded, wanting to be private and enjoy the comfort his girlfriend gave him. He gave her a peck on the lips before grabbing her stuff off the bench. Together, they sped walked to her dorm.

Krissy quickly unlocked her door, thanking god for her roommate having gone home for the week. She shut the door and connected her lips to her boyfriend's. The kiss ignited a new fire that they both wanted fulfilled. She urged for Blake to take his shirt off. Blake quickly yanked it off, only stopping.

With worried eyes, he stared into Krissy's warm brown eyes unsure of what to do. He wanted nothing more than to continue the excitement but he knew how big of a deal this would be. Krissy nodded, knowing that she would be different after this, but she knew she wanted to take this step. They waited long enough.

"I love you Blake. I'm ready." She said letting the words leave her lips. Blake's eyes widened in surprise but then snapped back to reality. He quickly slid his shirt off and focused on the most beautiful girl in front of him.

"I love you so much Krissy. I always have and I always will." He told her. He watched as her cheeks tinted pink and her brown eyes swirled with a shade of green. He loved her ever since he laid eyes on her. He knew that nothing was ever going to change that.

-

Relaxing, Blake had his arm around Krissy's waist. They looked up at the stars, feeling overjoyed with emotions. They were finally back together and it was better than ever. They could live free, until they both had to go back to their own lives, but until then, they wanted to make every second last.

"I can't believe you are here." She found herself whispering. Blake chuckled at her words, knowing that she meant them. Being apart had certainly caused a change in the girl he left behind. He focused on her as she stared up at the sky.

Her hair was slightly longer with a shade lighter. Her brown eyes sparkled as she admired the stars. Even her clothes seemed slightly different, having worn boots instead of Vans. She was a new person with the same personality; she was still the girl he loved. She was even geeking out at the constellations that were able to be seen.

"Aren't they pretty?" Krissy asked subconsciously. She did not even know she asked that until she felt a pair of eyes gazing at her. She turned and saw Blake's bright blue eyes looking at her. She let out a hiccup before ignoring him.

Even after all they have been through, she still couldn't believe she was dating one of the most wanted bachelors in Connecticut. He was sweet and caring, always knew everything she was thinking and feeling, and he especially made her happy. He was her whole world.

"You are definitely gorgeous." Blake said looking at her. Her cheeks tinted red at his words. Blushing, he admired the way she squirmed at his compliments. Even after all this time, he was still able to make her blush.

"I missed you." Krissy told him. She focused on the blue-eyed boy next to her, showing him her most vulnerable side. She had felt lost, like a piece of her was missing and it was because she didn't have him by her side. When she got a good grade or made a new friend, or even scored a job, she wanted nothing more than to celebrate with him, but she couldn't.

She tried to let him live his life while she lived hers, but she couldn't fully enjoy life as a college student at Harvard. She knew that she still had at least three more years to go before they'd be together again. Those next years were only going to get more difficult. She just hoped she'd be able to survive life on her own.

"I missed you too princess. Whenever i'd be playing, i'd look up at the stands and hoped you were one of the thousands of fans staring back at me. I wished for you to be waiting for me after the game and I definitely wished you were there helping me study. It has been hard learning to adjust to this new life we live, but I know we can survive it. I love you too much to just give you up because of distance. I love you so much that it makes me want to work harder to make you proud. Krissy, these next few years are only going to become crazier and harder, but just know that I want you at the end of it. No matter what happens, I want my life to be with you. We just have to survive these next few years while we chase our dreams. Besides, if you ever need me, just send a text to my phone. After all, that's what started it all." Blake said with a smirk. Krissy rolled her eyes, fighting off the tears that were threatening to spill from his heartwarming speech. She knew he was right. No matter what happens, he would always be a text away.
