The Rich And Not Spoiled: A Christmas Special
We drove home in record time. Jordi seemed way too excited and I had no clue what her plan was. But I trusted her.
She's the only woman I've ever trusted so much.
We parked our car and like always I was told to stay put. I smiled as I watched her walk around the car and smiled like a child as she came around to open my door.
"My love," she held out a hand and helped me out of the car, even if I didn't need it.
"You're suddenly all so giddy. What are we doing?" I asked her as we walked hand in hand to the front door.
"I'm just excited to finally have a quiet night," she opened the door for us. "With the love of my life." She smiled and pressed a kiss to my cheek.
She walked further ahead of me to make sure our dogs were okay, while I took my shoes and coat off.
"Keep your shoes and coat on Ry," Jordi shouted from the other room.
I stood confused for a moment and placed my coat and shoes back on. I was incredibly curious as to what she had planned.
Not that I'm surprised though because she's always been a very spur-of-the-moment person.
I walked through our house and tried to look for her. Our dogs were both still in but the back door was open. I walked outside and saw my wife standing in the snow with our backyard fairy lights lit up.
All of them lit up and that takes a momentâa couple of minutes at most.
"What are you doing in the snow?" I asked her still standing on the deck.
"Come down here," she called. "It's not that bad, I promise you, baby." She said.
"Jordi it's cold, the snow is getting thick way too fast."
"So come down before it gets even thicker. We'll go inside soon enough." She smirked.
I shook my head and just went down to where she was standing. Walking in the snow wasn't hard just yet which was good.
Watching Jordi bite back a smile as I walked up to her made me remember our wedding day, she stood at the altar all flustered and flushed. She had a small glimmer of tears in her eyes but didn't let them fall until I was saying my vows.
That was one of the best days of my life.
"You're up to something," I said to her.
"I'm not up to anything baby," she smiled and placed her hand to my waist pulling me closer to her. "I just want to dance with you." She added.
"Dance with me?" I asked her curiously while my cheeks turned a bright pink color and not from the cold.
"Of course, like we did on our wedding day." She said pulling me closer and I leaned into her touch.
"I'll dance with you any day butterfly," I said and smiled before placing a kiss on her lips.
Nothing surrounded us for a few moments as we danced among the snowflakes that fell around us, it felt calming in a way. I watched my favorite blue eyes look into mine. Nothing surrounded her eyes except love, and I could see it.
I see just as much as I always had, I see it even more when she looks at our girls.
I stopped moving for a second. "It feels odd to not be dancing to music," I said.
She chuckled and agreed. "That is fair baby," she said with a smile and pulled out her phone. "I play some now."
She looked for a song for a moment before landing on a song. "This one." She smirked and placed her phone back in her pocket.
Our first dance song. Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez.
"Why this one?" I asked as I bit back a smile now.
"It's our song baby," she said. "First dance with my forever girl." She added making me blush.
I leaned into her touch more as the song went on. Her arms held me close and soon enough I had my head resting on her shoulder as she pressed soft kisses to my temple as we danced.
I closed my eyes and remembered our day. The way we danced the people that we had around us, us. How perfect she looked and how she held me close all night because she felt like it wasn't real, it all felt so surreal.
I pressed little kisses to her shoulder as we continued to dance and we stayed in the snow for a while, dancing to the next couple of songs that came up. It was cold but somehow being outside with Jordi, dancing with her, it felt less cold.
At least until the wind decided to strike.
I shivered again her slightly and she wrapped her arms around me. "Let's go inside, baby." She said and I agreed.
We walked back inside and immediately took our shoes and coats off before heading into the shower.
We showered and got into pajamas quickly. We have a thing for wearing matching pajamas during the winter, she had a red set while mine is green. Colored pants and plain black tops.
I got into bed next to her and floated straight into her arms burying my head in her neck, into my spot. "Thank you for our date, butterfly," I said softly against her.
"You're welcome baby, we were long overdue for a date." She said.
"Well, thank you for it anyway butterfly. It's been a good minute since we've been out and I got my favorite dessert." I said with a small smile.
That earned a light chuckle from Jordi.
"You did baby," she smiled and pressed a kiss to my temple.
"I also go to dance with my favorite person in the snow," I said with a hint of blush coating my cheeks.
"Well, I got to dance with the most incredible woman I've ever seen tonight. She's got mousy brown hair and big best brown eyes." She said. "What makes it even better is that she's my wife." She said softly in a whisper and quiet giggle.
"You still get all giggly when you call me that." I shook my head as I looked at her.
"Of course I do, I love you too much to not get all giddy." She said.
Blush coated my cheeks quickly as she answered. "I love you butterfly," I said.
"I love you too baby," she said and I pressed a kiss to her soft spot. "Goodnight baby."
"Good night butterfly."
