The Rich And Not Spoiled: A Christmas Special
"Okay, have we all got everything we need?" I asked the girls who stood eagerly at the door.
"Lei, do you have bunny?" Jordi asked her about her favorite teddy.
"Yes I do," she said and smiled widely.
"Can we go please?" Nala pleaded with excitement ranging in her tone.
Jordi came back from the kitchen and placed a brief kiss on Nala's head before ushering us out the door together. The drive to Colton and Kinsley's place was only ten minutes long but the entire ride was filled with the girl's favorite Christmas songs and Mistletoe by Justin Bieber on repeater their request.
We got to their house and Kinsley was already standing at the door fully excited that Nala jumped out of the car they ran to each other immediately.
You could swear these two hadn't seen each other in years when it's realistically only been three days since they'd seen each other properly.
While Nala was busy with her best friend, our youngest daughter ran to Colton. He loved our girls the same way we love Kinsley, she's like our third child with how much she's over.
They've been friends since they were six and Jordi and I don't see that friendship coming to an end anytime soon.
"Are we ready for a Christmas fun-filled night?" Colton asked them.
"Yeah!" They all giggled with excitement.
He nodded. "Cookies and hot chocolate on the table," he pointed inside the house and all three of them ran inside for the hot chocolate and cookies.
"Thank you so much, Colton, it means a lot." We thanked him.
"No problem at all, you know I love them just as much. You two just have a good time tonight while we make cookie packets to hand out at the shelter later." He said with a wide smile.
"Of course, thank you." We said once more and went back to the car.
"Ready for a date night baby?" Jordi asked with a smile.
"Always butterfly." I intertwined our fingers over the console and placed a kiss on the back of her hand.
We drove to our favorite Mediterranean restaurant on the strip and waited to get seated. It was cold out, snow was falling lightly and many people were around waiting for the Christmas tree lights to turn on.
"Table for two?" The host at the front door asked us.
"Yes please," Jordan replied and he nodded slightly.
We walked inside where it was warmer, much warmer than you could imagine, and got seated.
We started with a simple white wine and looked over the menu for something to order.
"Anything you'd like a baby?" Jordi asked. Her hand over mine with her thumb still caressing the back of my hand softly.
"Maybe the vegetable tagine. We always come here but I never really try it. Or maybe the couscous and roasted vegetables. I don't know yet."
"We get one of each and eat them together like always, yeah?" Jordi said and interlaced her fingers with mine.
I blushed like a schoolgirl and smiled hard. "Okay," I said with a small shy smile.
The waiter came over and took our orders, both Jordi and I got some water and a glass of wine while we ate.
The couscous was really good but felt a little too grainy and I didn't like it while Jordi loved it more than I thought she would.
I, on the other hand, loved the vegetable tagine. It was really good and everything blended well together on the plate.
Dinner passed us really quickly and we both ended up way too full. "Do you still want to get cookies?" Jordi asked me as we held hands walking down the snowy sidewalk.
"I thought we were gonna get milkshakes and fries," I said softly with a fake pout.
Jordan took a minute to stop walking and wrap her arms around me making me giggle a little. "I love you, my love, but I think I'm going to stick to white chocolate matcha cookies, we can get milkshakes and fries." She smiled and pressed a soft kiss to my lips.
"That works butterfly," I smiled and we kept walking down the street until we got to our coffee shop.
We've been coming to the same place since our girls were little. It was the same place we brought our girls after their first days of school.
"Vanilla milkshakes, my love?" Jordi asked me.
"Yes please baby," I said softly as she went up and ordered our stuff.
I sent Colton a quick message asking if the girls were okay while my wife went up to order our favorite desserts.
Colton
Hiya!
The girls are all doing just great. A bit of a fight between Nala and Leilani but nothing that some Christmas sugar cookies couldn't fix
I laughed at the message. Knowing my girls the argument was over something so minuscule which is why it was a simple fix and someone a sugar cookies couldn't fix.
Me
Thank you, Colton!
Let us know when you need a night to yourself and we'd be more than happy to have Kinsley over causing trouble with us.
Colton
Gotcha ð
I tucked my phone away just in time to see my gorgeous wife walk back over to me with our things in hand.
"I got you the skinny kind of fries because I know you prefer them." She said and placed a soft kiss on my lips.
"Thank you butterfly," I said and immediately took a fry, dipped it in my milkshake, and ate it.
Still takes me back to when Jordi and I were in high school.
"Good?" Jordi asked.
"As always," I agreed and ate some more. "Girls are doing okay, by the way, just a bit of an argument but they're all good," I told her.
"That's good, I hope they're behaving." She said with a smile and turned to look out the window while I ate more of my favorite foods.
Jordi gasped slightly which made me look over to her. "What?" I asked her wide-eyed.
"It's snowing a little heavier now, I've got an idea." She smiled mischievously.
"What's your idea?" I lifted an eyebrow at her.
"We need to go home," she determined.
"Jordi we are not doing it in the snow again, I was so cold last time," I said remembering our college days.
"Yeah but whose idea was that?" My wife smirked.
I rolled my eyes at her and smiled. "We're not doing it again," I said.
"No, we're not doing it again." She said and reached out for my hand. "But maybe my idea will be just as fitting." She smiled.
"Okay, let's go," I said reaching out my hand for her.
