The Moore-Perez Family
The Rich And Not Spoiled: A Christmas Special
I nodded curtly at her and we left the room. "You were scaring her," Lottie said.
"I eased up in the end," I said as we walked downstairs.
"The stern woman I married." She smiled at shook her head. "A black cat to everyone else but the biggest golden retriever for me."
"Not everyone deserves to see me the way you do," I smirked and pressed a kiss to her lips.
She blushed a little as we waited for the car to come around. "You still haven't told me where we're going." She said and caressed the back of my hand with her thumb.
"That's because it's a surprise, my love," I said and pressed a soft kiss to the back of her hand.
The car came around and we got in. The drive was short. We got to see so many of the Christmas decorations that were up around the city.
Paris seemed so lively and warm during the Christmas season, I could tell it was something my wife was enjoying very much.
We reached our destination and when Lottie realised where we were going she had the biggest smile on her face.
This is why I do what I do. The smile on her face at the end of it makes every moment worth it.
"This was the last place I expected us to be." She said as we got out.
"Well, I did tell you a Perez woman deserves more than regular simple," I said.
"Seven years together and I still get butterflies when you call me a Perez woman." She said as we waited for the elevator.
"You are a Perez woman," I smiled and looped my arm around her waist. "You're my Perez woman." I kissed her.
She got all flustered and shied away from me placing her head on my chest. "You gave me butterflies." She said and all I could do was chuckle and kiss the top of her head.
We got into the elevator and I told the instructor of our reservation and we went to the top, just like we had all those years ago.
Once again when we stepped out, Lottie was in awe.
"The view from up here is incredible, I've missed it. Especially with everything Christmasy up, it's a dream." She said as she walked to the edge. "The girls would love it up here. Especially Emi."
"I know," I said as I looped my arms around her again. "Hopefully one day they'll get to be up here."
After a moment, we sat down to eat the dinner that was already prepared for us. It was simple and nothing extraordinary, something just right.
We had some jasmine rice and garlic chicken with a mushroom sauce and asparagus on the side. Each with a glass of wine.
Lottie and I talked for most of the night, sharing soft moments together and our fingers stayed intertwined throughout our meal.
Once we were done, we ordered our dessert, a soufflé to share, and waited.
"Come with me baby," I stood up and held a hand out for her.
"Where are we going?" She asked me as she followed my lead.
"Just to the other side," I said and led her to the other side. We took a moment to look at the view filled with decorations and light that flickered and drew attention.
We looked and admired it before my eyes fell on her.
She always looked so beautiful but something about the way she glowed in Paris, and how the lights were hitting her skin right now was everything.
I took a deep breath and pulled the ring out and sank to my knee. "Lottie," I said softly.
"Mhmm," she hummed and turned to see me on my knee. A short gasp fell from her lips and she smiled. "Pretty, we're already married," she smiled gently.
"I know but us being married shouldn't stop me from making promises to you," I said and she smiled. "It's a promise ring."
"Once upon a time I promised you a house with a white picket fence in a quiet place where all the kids play on the street and a dog that would grow old with us as we sat in the backyard watching our kids grow up," I said. "We did all that, but I forgot to promise you one more thing."
Lottie had tears streaming down her face as I spoke and she smiled at me. "What did you forget my pretty girl?" She asked me softly.
"An eternity with you," I said and tried not to let my tears fall. "To have us together in every time loop and every story were written into," I said, a stray tear rolled down my cheek. "Because Charlotte, I love you so much, more than my words could ever describe, and every day that passes my love for you only grows," I said.
"My pretty girl," she said softly.
"I am forever grateful that we've had seven years together already but I want to promise you an eternity of us because I can't imagine looking for another set of eyes in a crowded room, I can't imagine falling asleep next to someone who doesn't insist on crushing me every night and I can't imagine sharing as much of me as I have with you any other soul on earth," I said.
"I'm promising an eternity with you, mi vida because when I look at you, it's like no one else exists to me," I said and I couldn't hold my tears anymore.
She knelt down to me and kissed me through our salty tears and all. "I'm promising you and eternity because I can't imagine a world where I didn't call you un-fucking-believable." She smiled and I chuckled. "And eternity for us."
I placed the promise ring onto her right ring finger and kissed her again. "An eternity to us."
"Merry Christmas my pretty girl." She said.
"Merry Christmas my love."
