Chapter 13

The Blue-Hassan Family

The Rich And Not Spoiled: A Christmas Special

🎄 Zoë's POV 🎄

🎄 four years later 🎄

"Up, up, up!" Tegan repeated as she held the star for the tree in her hands.

It's been almost five years since Quinn and I decided to have a baby and now it's four years since our baby girl was born. She's got thick brunette hair and piercing blue eyes that match my favorite set so much.

Freya wasn't happy about having the new baby around at first, but after she saw her sister smile for the first time, she's been in some protective mode over her. And it's been four years since we brought Tegan home and they've been inseparable.

Tegan is definitely the naughtier one. She's only three—almost four—but gives me and Quinn a run for our money.

Alongside Val and Letty who had another baby too, Saylor, she's Tegan's best friend. They're also as thick as thieves when it comes to trouble.

I won't lie and say our baby girl is the more innocent one because then I'd be lying about myself too. Tegan takes after me and is a leader, not a follower, she's the one to have the ideas and start the trouble.

Saylor is a little more laid back and follows Tegan's lead sometimes but often—they're in it to win it together.

Letty and I have tried being angry at them but failed. We just let Quinn and Valentina take on that one for us.

This year, we're all celebrating Christmas together in Calgary. We've each rented out a cabin for our families and stayed in them. Quinn and I have a cabin next to Letty and Val for obvious reasons.

I can swear to you, our girls have separation anxiety from each other. So much so that Tegan is staying the next at their cabin because she wants to decorate the tree again with Saylor.

"Okay baby," I said and lifted her in my arms to place the star on our tree.

She giggled and placed it on perfectly. "Thank you, mama," she said and hugged me when she was done.

I placed a kiss on her head and put her down while she started tidying up the mess we both made.

I'll admit, Tegan takes over Quinn when it comes to cleaning up, she is very particular about mess. She'll make a mess and immediately clean it up.

She's the same with her toys. Freya leaves more of a mess and Quinn and I have to sometimes argue with her to clean up but it's like we have opposite problems with Tegan.

She messes and immediately cleans up. I guess she's good in that department.

"Is Saylor coming?" She asked me softly.

"Yes baby, soon, and then we're going to go make snowmen," I said and she smiled widely.

"With carrots?" She asked.

"Yes baby, with carrots and coal and a scarf.

"You didn't say a hat too." She deadpanned.

"And with hats too."

"Okay," she giggled and carried everything to the bin.

After a moment our front door opened a little and Fleur was the first to walk in. "Hi Aunty Zoë," she smiled when she saw me.

"Hi Fleur, how are you?" I asked.

"I'm cold—is your fireplace on? Mom won't put ours on." She said and I nodded.

"Yeah it is," I said. "Freya's upstairs if you want to go up."

"Thank you," she smiled and ran up the stairs.

And after a moment our door opened again and in walked Letty, Val, and Saylor.

Immediately Tegan came running and Saylor giggled as they met each other halfway. They fell into their own world and walked away without a second word.

"I swear once they're together we don't exist to them," Val said as she walked in.

"We really don't," I smiled. Val left into the other room where Quinn was while Letty and I stayed in the living room.

"I think we're getting old Zo," Letty said as she sat down.

"Speak for yourself, Tegs and I started playing soccer in the backyard," I said as I sat next to my best friend.

"Okay, I'm getting old—Val and I used to hate going to bed early and now we're lucky if our girls get into bed on time." She sighed with a smile.

"I want to say that's an issue Quinn and I have but we fortunately do not have that issue—Freya and Tegs sleep earlier if they feel like it," I responded.

"Lucky," she said. "Birdie and I were thinking about dinner out tonight. Just the three of us, it's been a while since the three of us have actually been out."

Birdie and her wife Kira are also here with us but they have a cabin next to Stella and Lottie.

They got married only three years ago and they moved back home. Well, Kira did first then Birdie.

They're incredibly cute together and they recently adopted two kids, a set of siblings. A 10-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. They're amazing kids and an amazing addition to their little family.

"I don't see why not," I said and Letty smiled.

"Okay, I'll let B know that you've agreed." She said with a smile. "Finally some time to just the three of us,"

"It'll be good for us," I said with a smile. "And gives us time to plan out how we'll do Christmas Day."

"Exactly!" Letty smiled and I did too.

It's been a while since the three of us have actually had some time to hang out together since we're all so busy these days so some time out with just the three of us will be good.
