The Blue-Hassan Family
The Rich And Not Spoiled: A Christmas Special
We're leaving today and packing wasn't as exciting as I wanted it to be. I was sick and Zoë made me stay in bed for most of the day.
She didn't want anything going wrong, no matter how much I just wanted to help her pack, she didn't let me. The upside to all of this is that Freya lay with me all day.
But since it's leaving day, we're off. We're travelling with Stella and Lottie's family so the perk is using their plane. We're in for a long plane ride but it'll be good.
"Let's go angel," I said to Freya who was still saying goodbye to all her toys and giving her kisses while promising to be back.
"I'm coming," she smiled and ran up to me and held my hand. "Are we going in a plane?" She asked.
"Yes angel," I said.
"And Noah too?"
I hummed in response to her question and she nodded to herself before climbing into her car seat. Something she's been getting good at on her own lately.
I buckled her in and waited for my wife to walk out with the rest of the stuff she went to grab. After a moment, Zoë walked out and had everything that we'd need for the whole trip. She placed it all in the car and jumped in.
Immediately her fingers intertwined with mine and she placed a kiss on the back of my hand. "I love you, Quinn," She said with a soft smile.
"I love you too Zo," I said as my cheeks blushed a little. Zoë and I have been together for almost four years and not a day goes by where I'm not grateful for her. She's honestly the best person I've ever come across and I'm even luckier to have her as my wife and mother of our daughter.
"Mama?" Our three-year-old called from the backseat.
"Yes angel," Zoë said.
"Can we listen to mistletoe?" She asked.
Zoë and I both cracked a smile. Every year around the holidays, Freya tends to pick a song and that becomes her song for the holidays. Last year it was deck the halls, the year before that it was jingle bells and this year it's mistletoe.
Zoë and I agreed and put her song on.
We drove to the airport while she sang her little heart out to the song and even Zoë and I joined along. It was one of those wholesome Christmas memories that you make when you're younger and carry with you far into adulthood.
I want to create the memories for my kids so that they can have stories that involve more than what I had. Asking your dad to choose you over meth isn't anything a child should have to remember.
We drove to the private airport strip where we met Stella and Lottie, along with their kids. Once Freya was out of her car seat she wasted no time in running up to Noah and hugging him. Since they're both so close in age, they've been friends for as long as I can remember.
"Hi, Noah!" Freya said excitedly.
"Hi, Freya," Noah responded.
Zoë and I walked up to Stella and Lottie who were standing around with their twin girls, Natalia and Emilia. "We're glad you guys could come," Stella said warmly.
When I first met Stella I thought she was going to eat me alive but after a while of knowing her, I realized she's just a really sweet person who had a cold exterior. And the more I got to know both Lottie and Stella, I just knew Lottie had Stella wrapped around her finger.
Similar to Zoë and I. Not that I'd ever openly admit that though, I'd prefer that to just stay to myself.
"There was no way we were missing a holiday away with our friends," Zoë said softly. "Thank you for inviting us,"
"Of course!" Lottie said with a smile.
"We're just waiting for Matthew to open the plane up then we'll leave," Stella said and I agreed.
"Mom, can I Emy and I go wait in the car? It's cold out here." Natalia asked Lottie.
Before Lottie even had a chance to answer Emilia opened her arms and wrapped her sister in a hug underneath her coat. "We'll just wait here, Matt will open soon," Emilia said. "Just stay in here and you'll be warmer soon."
Despite Emilia being more like Stella, her cold exterior and all, she's an angel to her sister and everyone else close to her. But she will not hesitate to give you the bitchiest attitude if you deserve it.
We waited a little longer for the plan to open up. We all stood around and talked as we waited and once the door did open, we all made our way inside, Noah took a seat next to Lottie and Freya sat in between me and Zoë while the twins insisted on sitting in the few seats over from us so they could be next to each other.
The doors closed and everyone was offered champagne while I just got some water.
"I think we're going to have a good holiday," Lottie pointed out.
"I know we will, a lot will change in the next year so that'll officially be the last holiday we have with life right now as we know it," Zoë said with a smile.
"We'll then to us and a good last Christmas with life as we know it," Stella said starting a mini toast between the four of us.
