chapter 81

Sadhvi's pov :

Today I didn't wait for my friends,I directly went to the EMERGENCY MEDICINE DEPARTMENT.

As soon as I entered there.......I saw a batch of nurses running in the ward bringing the medication and stuff to the patients.....few doctors were treating the patients.

Just then I heard a phone ring.....I looked around only to see a landline.

A nurse who was looking almost 40 years lifted the phone.She said something and cut the phone.

And she announced loudly

"Emergency!.....prepare a stretcher. A patient with severe abdominal bleeding is admitting in our hospital in 15 minutes."

With that wardboys and a nurse took the stretcher and went to the entrance .

A doctor who seems to be quite young.....may be he was in his 30s.

He hanged his stethoscope on his neck,wore his gloves and ran to the entrance.

I was just standing and watching all the process here.......

It is really looking like I am watching a drama based on doctors.

Honestly it was really fascinating to watch it.

"Sadhvi....."I heard someone calling me.

It broke my trance.

I looked around only to be Varun waving his hand to me.

I smiled acknowledging him.

He walked towards me.....

"Hey....Where were you so lost?" Varun asked me as soon as he stand beside me.

"No where....I was just watching them."I said pointing towards the entrance where all the doctors and nurses stood waiting for patient.

"Really......you looked like daydreaming." He said while laughing.

I scratched my neck in embarrassment.....

"No no...."i said not agreeing with him.

"Leave it.Why are you alone today? Where is Geetha?"he asked.

"I came here directly today. Maybe she will be here soon." I said.

He already knows that I am not staying in our college dormitory anymore.

He asked me the reason......

I just said that I am staying with my cousin as I was not liking here.

I mean like the environment.....I am feeling like trapped in a closed place.

I really said many lies for him to make him convinced with my words.

"Ok come on let's take a case in the mean time."he said.

"Wait Varun......there will be a patient in few more minutes. He is having abdominal bleeding. Let's see how he is treated.ok?"I asked him with excitement.

He chuckled and just nodding.

"Ok....let's go there and watch." He said signalling me to go near entrance.

But I was hesitating.

Because I am afraid if the doctor who stood there scolds us.....I mean they will say that we are causing disturbance and all.....not all but few doctors do that.As they will be busy they look at the students like a burden.

"What if they say we are causing some disturbance?" I asked Varun.

"Hey....we are not. We have to learn the stuff." He said while grabbing my hand and dragged me along with him.

"Varun....walk slowly." I said as he was walking really fast that I am missing my steps.

He slowed down.....but still walked holding my hand.

After a minute or so there came an ambulance.

The patient was shifted to the ward......we both were just following the doctor who was treating that patient.

Observing what he was doing and all.

Even geetha joined us.

She was asking questions to us continuously.....regarding the patient and his treatment.

Varun answered her first few questions quite patiently but after that he ignored her.....I was trying her to stop asking questions as we have a decorum to follow while we are in the wards....

Be she being she just ignored me.

"If you guys do not want to stop with your talking,I suggest you all to leave the ward." The doctor who I said before.......I mean who was young said to us angrily.

"Sorry sir....."we three said together.

He frowned at that.

"What are you?4?

I don't need your sorry.Just stay quite."he said and just continued his work without waiting for us to respond.

We all just stood quitely there.

The patient was stabbed on his stomach.

He lost blood but the injury was not deep.....it was thankful.because it it was deep the doctors had to perform surgery on him.

After stopping the bleeding he sutured the patient.

After that we three went and sat in a bench as my legs are aching as we stood for almost 2 hours.....

We just talked some stuff with eachother.

In the past few months me and Geetha became closer to Varun......

In the classes and postings we three became like three musketeers.

We are inseparable.

Varun looks like a decent and innocent boy but he is really mischievous.

He pulls geetha'legs soo much that she begs him to stop that.

And I just watch them......believe me I feel like I am watching tone and Jerry watching them arguing over all the things.

But they never stop talking to each other even after their fightings.

I am happily that atleast I earned a good friend.

"Ok guys let's go from here." I said stopping in the middle of their arguement as our lunch break started.

Varun said good bye and went to have his lunch.

We both started walking towards our dining hall.

"Why didn't you came to room today?" Geetha asked me.

Again the memories of yesterday and today's morning ran through my mind.i just stilled for a second.

But after that I tried to maintain my composure.

I don't want to say anything with my friends......

I know they will blame Siddarth if I say what happened yesterday.

But I know it was not intentional.......

Already I was blaming him,I don't want my friends to blame him too.

"I woke up late today...." I said.

I think she saw through me trying to dodge her questions....

Just when she was going to ask me something Priya came.

"Bhabhi.....I am missing you so much.Why don't you just stay in hostel?" Priya asked.

"Even I want to ask....why can't you shift with us?"I requestioned her.

"I don't want to travel daily." She said.

"I am not convinced with that answer......so probably suggest you to be honest." I said as I was tired listening same thing again and again.

I was asking her to shift with us....we are any two,and there was a spare bedroom.We all can stay together.

"Ok ok....I have 3 reasons...

First one is the same thing.Idont want to travel daily....because I have to sacrifice my sleep for that.

Second is I don't want to disturb you guys....I want to give newlyweds their privacy.

Third is the most important one.My brother bags me a lot....I want to escape it.He behaves like a over protective brother,asks thousands of questions when ever I go out.If I stay here I have a choice to not say him when I go out." She said.

This girl is quite a brat......

I shook my head helplessly......what could I probably say to her,she is not disturbing us and we don't need any privacy.

But I choose to stay quite as she was already determined to not move in with us.

After having our lunch we both came and sat on our usual bench.

Varun joined us after sometime.

We all talked about our studies.....dreams and stuff.

Our professor came to the classroom and started his lecture...

Asusually we all stayed quite and listened to him.

Like that we completed all the classes.

"Let's go to canteen today."Varun said.

We both nodded agreeing with him.

We can spend sometime.....

Mostly I was thinking I can avoid the reality for sometime.

I don't want to go home and cry over my grief right now.

I can enjoy for sometime right?

"Let's ask Akki and Swapna to join us."I said and called both of them to canteen.

We all went to canteen and spend quality time together........

All cracked jokes on eachother....

I really felt happy seeing all of them happy.

Atleast they are happy.

I am happy for them.
