Reflections on Hume
Unification of the Mind
What we do not know is caused by illusion, therefore, things that are untrue can be believed in because of human structures of thought that are imagined to be of use and are then used against us. Hume says that prior philosophy can be discovered as untrue, which means that it was never true and never a proposition reigned by truth. Meaning, illusions are confounded by truth, and this truth is not related to the illusion. Because truth does not assert itself during prior illusions, it is unrelated to those illusions. Truth does not only contradict false beliefs, but confronts the users sense of reality. Only our truth within finds flaw in illusion, and therefore truth exists as a being state within us. We do not discover truth from outside of us through the relations of reality, but we find flaw in illusions that reign over reality, which aids us in accepting the truth. Our relationship with truth is defined by our relationship with illusion, but the "matters of fact" of reality are not. The cause and effect of truth and illusion are not defined by themselves, but by our relationship with them. When we celebrate illusion, and condemn truth, we obscure the reality that we live in and the consequences of our actions, so much so that it is unclear what is the reality that we belong to. The consequences of illusion may be negative objectively, that is true, but they are obscured by our actions to uphold illusion. Our true values are within whatever relationship that we cultivate. It is therefore our responsibility to manifest the truth, and it is only in responsibility that we will find it, because truth is the only thing that gives order. Illusion in our world manifests itself as hierarchical, because it is propagated by the relationship that we have with it. Hierarchy is built by human determination alone, and can be contradicted by the beauty of the truth, that which gives light to the good. The goodness of the truth is an undeniable reality, because the matters of fact belong only within the truth. Peace is the coming together of reality within an order of good. Only that which is beneficial could ever be true, because disorder is an illusion. The forces of nature are that which are creative, and the truth is a nature itself. Man is by nature reactive, because of the truth within man. Cause and effect observed within man is caused by our will to be creative with the resources of our lives.
