Chapter 88

Early Morning Party

Tainted Love

Savannah

Staying the night with Damon, I have him take me out early to bring me back home and bring Percy breakfast.

I worked hard on his birthday present so I’m so stoked to give it to him already. I’ve planned this night for him to hit the club.

The gay club in the next town over. I bought us VIP tickets and rented a party bus for him and the friends of his that were down with the club scene.

Damon’s taking me on his bike so I don’t have to be sedated.

I have his birthday outfit, a few choice sex toys, and I have not one, not five, but eighteen dates lined up for my Piglet to have the best night of his life.

I made Percy a Grindr account and have spent so much time picking out the lucky eighteen candidates for him.

I don’t sneak into my house, my Uncle Jonah was on the front porch sitting on the swing with this bittersweet look on his face.

I’m sure it’s sad for him being our only parent now and seeing us grow up.

“Good morning, Uncle Jonah. Is he up?” I singsong with my walk up the short strip of sidewalk onto the porch.

“Yeah, Savannah, I think you should give him a minute…”

I stop with my hand on the door to look at my uncle’s sad face. I know the look. I know why. It’s that day.

Aunt Zoey left her family when we were just kids. Percy used to make mother’s day gifts and wait up on his birthdays for her to come home.

He would make sure she had Christmas presents under the tree, he never forgot her birthday. I can’t remember all the times I snuck off and came to see him before my mom started bringing me herself.

These days were hard on Percy in almost the same way it was on me.

“I’ll handle it. Angel, can you take this to the kitchen for me? I’ll be down in a minute.”

Damon of course is clueless to the heartless wife and mother that still haunts their lives.

My uncle drinks his cup of coffee and looks off down the street. I’m sure thinking this is still his fault.

Zoey was a selfish cunt who left her family because she was a selfish cunt. It had nothing to do with my uncle or my cousin.

Handing the bags off to Damon, I take the stairs to my Percy’s room.

A swift tap to his door and I listen for him on the inside. His poorly hidden sniffing and the panic stop he gives himself to hide the tears.

“Percy we both know I already know. Can I come in?”

He says nothing so I open it anyways and walk in with the door shutting behind me.

“Hey Piglet.” Percy sits on his bed staring out his window with his back facing me.

I walk across the room and lean into him. My arms around my taller best friend. I lay one hand on his face and let him hold onto me some as he ends his crying.

“It’s okay to feel like you were abandoned, Percy. You were. You know how I feel about the woman who birthed you. I love you and will never leave you. Not even death could keep me from you.

“Uncle Jonah will never leave you. We love you and that woman left because she’s a selfish cunt. It had nothing to do with you. “

Percy leans harder into me, his arms wrapping me up to hold on to me just as hard as I hold him.

I rub his back as he cries and calms down. I hate that Zoey did this to my family. That she is out there living her life, oblivious to the destruction she caused.

Still causes.

~Selfish cunt.~

“What can I do to get your mind off her and on the celebration of your birthday?”

Percy sniffles, wiping his face on my shirt like a snot rag, making me growl and act indifferent about it. ~Ewwww!!~

“Food?” he croaks.

“Oh, you mean like your favorite cookie crumble pancakes with mango sauce and freshly squeezed orange juice?”

The pancakes are gross as hell but it’s his favorite so I got it for him.

“Yeah just like that.”

I pat his back and release him from my hold, both of us getting up and going downstairs where Uncle Jonah and Damon are actually working together to make Percy’s plate.

Both of us stop mid-step to look around and back at each other like this is some weird Scooby-Doo scene where Shaggy and Scooby freeze up seeing the villain and creep back out of the room.

“Percy, do you have your phone? I need photographic evidence of this. No one will believe me.”

Damon snorts as he sets Percy’s glass of orange juice down and cuts his eyes at me.

“Tell anyone you want, I’ll say you photoshopped it.”

“I believe that’s the excuse you used in front of Judge Malia and he threw it out,” my uncle jolts in. Damon’s body language stiffens for a second before he lays a fork down and smirks.

“Yeah, sure, that’s why he threw it out.”

My Uncle Jonah stops his heating up of the pancakes to give this dead look at Damon, who takes a seat with that cocky bastard of a smile on his face.

“Why him, Savannah? You could have your pick of males and you choose him?”

Percy and I chuckle, walking into the kitchen. Him at the head of the table and me at Damon’s side.

“Van knows how to pick a winner, I’m the best.” My uncle, I swear to God, makes this chortle sound from deep in his throat with this unbelievable creep to his eyebrow.

“You’re not even the best at Henley.”

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Percy, happy birthday to you,” I sing over their back and forth, trying to bring the attention back to the birthday boy and who this is about.

“Why couldn’t you have brought home the baby Henley? I only arrested him twice—he seemed like a good kid.”

I laugh really loud when I feel Damon grip my thigh and pull me closer.

My possessive biker prince is going to piss on my leg if my uncle doesn’t stop.

“Dane is still a kid, he’s fifteen, Uncle.”

Percy eats, watching the show unfold.

“Yeah, and? The Reid kid was nice. Why not him? You two had a thing for a while, what happened?”

I facepalm and groan, Percy chuckling while Damon has brought me completely into his lap as he starts laying hickeys down my shoulder.

“Reid is nice, but he wasn’t, Uncle, no. Damon is the one for me. He is it for me.”

I swat at Damon’s hand trying to spread my legs to cup my vagina.

“But why?” my Uncle Jonah groans, pointing at Damon with a flat hand out.

“Why didn’t you pick the doctor? The older one? I’ve had him in the back of my squad car more than the damn dog, Savannah. Anyone else? There’s more males out here than trees and you can’t find one better? I don’t believe that.”

Percy makes his juice dribble on his shirt from his laughing and trying to hide it.

“Gross, never would it be Darrion. He’s an asshole and a carbon copy of Lucien.”

“You smell that?” Damon sidetracks the conversation. His nose in the air, he sniffs around. The four of us doing the same.

“No, what is it, Angel?”

“I smell bacon and…donuts.”

~I swear to Lucifer, how am I going to handle a lifetime of this?~
