âI can't imagine what they're planning. But I can tell you two things. We won't like it, and it won't be legal.â
â Eoin Colfer, The Artemis Fowl Files
TEMPLAR P.O.V
âWhat the hell?â Rett seethed clenching his fists.
âSo those fuckers are like best-friends now?â Keith spat. âThatâs just so expectedâ he said shaking his head in disgust.
âOne is cunning and one is womanizer but what they have in common is that they are both mentally unstableâ Jan growled.
âThey becoming friends is bad for usâ Terence said with a frown.
âAnd a war⦠really? As if they stand a chanceâ Rett scoffed.
âThey do not stand a chance but innocent pack wolves will die if a war happensâ I said quietly and all heads turned to look at me.
âThatâs true. I donât think pack wolves are ready to fightâ Terence said.
âEspecially Reeceâs pack. They are the ones who will suffer a lot and Tem⦠they helped us when we had gone to find you. I am positive they donât want this warâ Jan said.
âSo only Reece wants this war⦠right?â I asked.
âIt seems so from the messageâ
âThen we can stop this warâ I said and Rett nodded.
âI want my pack safe and I am not ready to go to a war. Not because I am a coward but I am not ready to risk the innocent wolves of Reeceâs packâ Rett stated. âI am going to write a letter to Sorority saying so.â
My wolf growled in agreement to whatever Rett said.
âThe Sorority better agreeâ Keith grumbled.
âThey have to. Itâs the right thing to doâ I said with a frown. âWe are saying no to the war and even after asking the whole pack, I know the answer will be the same. Reece might want a war, but his pack wolves will not. The Sorority has to consider itâ I said the obvious.
âWhen did the Sorority ever do the right thing?â Keith asked chuckling humorlessly and I pursed my lips because that was true. The Sorority always did what they wanted without considering the others.
âIf they donât stop this, then a war will occurâ Janâs voice was a whisper and I sucked in a breath as I heard it. âTem, do something. You not only have to stop the war but also teach a lesson or two to that womanizer.â
I nodded staring at space.
âWhat are you going to do about Randall staying in BlueBells?â Terence asked Rett.
âReece unwarily did a favor to us thereâ Rett said smirking and I narrowed my eyes. âHe gave shelter to a rogue, who has lots of enemies. Most of who are other pack Alphasâ.â
Jan chuckled after she heard it. âAh yes! Thatâs true. Those Alphasâ will not support Reeceâs cause nowâ she said gleefully and I smiled while my wolf growled in satisfaction after hearing it.
âBloody idiotâ Keith said shaking his head but I furrowed my brows because I knew all was not well yet.
âYou okay?â Jan asked me and I nodded with a smile.
I couldnât sleep that night. I was exhausted but even then I couldnât sleep because I kept on rewinding the events of that one distressing week in my head. I looked at Rett and smiled when I found his face buried in the pillow. Leaning forward, I pecked his cheek and then carefully got out of his hold around my waist.
Like a tiger I walked downstairs towards Rett office. I switched on my laptop and checked the mails. There werenât any and I reasoned to myself that it is late at night. I then clicked open my storyâs page, but I couldnât write anything.
This stalker story of mine had come to a halt and I couldnât think of anything to write there at the moment either. It was frustrating.
Grunting, I caught my head with my hands and closed my eyes.
I honestly thought Randallâs face would come in my mind, but when I saw Reeceâs annoyingly good face, I opened my eyes. He was being a serious PITA to me and I didnât know how to deal with him. The other two Alphasâ who had complained to Sorority regarding me was Sebastian OâRiley of Whitefield and Brandon Cunningham of Gold-Dust.
I had crossed their packs true, but I had not killed any pack wolves. It was only due to Goddessâ blessing that no innocent blood was shed during that one week by me. I couldnât live with that kind of sin. But the thought that these two Alphasâ too accused me of something I didnât do made me really angry.
Stupid Sebastian⦠what did I ever do to him? Instead, I had warned him that the rogues were close to his territory a day before that distressing week. He had chosen to ignore that warning and it was his fault. What kind of an Alpha is he?
As I kept thinking, I realized something. The packs! After crossing my pack, I had been through the territories of another five packs. Why those five packs? Â Was the first question that popped in my head, but then it might just be a coincidence too. However, when I thought about it over and over again, like I did just now, I realized that each one of those packs had a problem.
Biting my lower lip, I picked up a pencil and walked towards Rettâs drawing board. First, I wrote down the names of the five packs and their Alphasâ. Then I thought what the major problem in these five packs was.
I didnât have to think when I wrote of BlueBells. It came to me quickly, they had a lecherous Alpha named Reece. Gritting my teeth, I wrote in capital letters that REECE IS NOT FIT TO BE AN ALPHA. Thatâs just plain and clear.
Then I moved to Day-Dusk, Genessaâs former pack. SEXISTALPHA, but it wouldnât be a problem anymore because Marco has agreed to step-down. So the new problem in the pack is CONVINCING KEVIN TO BE AN ALPHA.
The first pack name in the list, but the third one I wrote was WhiteField. Sebastian had to TAKE HIS RESPONSIBILITIES SERIOUSLY. When you have the title, you better act up to it. I better than everyone know what happens when you ignore your responsibilities.
The fourth one was Gold-Dust. Honestly, I couldnât think what the problem in this pack was. It seemed fine to me, but my wolf wasnât completely convinced. She knew there was something wrong in that pack too. I closed my eyes and thought about the day I had been to that pack. Brandon was not really the Alpha of that pack. He was the beta but after the Alpha family was killed by Glen, Brandon was appointed as the new Alpha. I opened my eyes when I realized what the problem was. Sighing, I wrote on the board, SUBMISSIVE ALPHA. Since Brandon isnât actually an Alpha Blood, no one takes him seriously. His pack thinks he is not fit to be an Alpha, but I doubt if itâs true. He might be good but due to lack of encouragement from the pack, he cannot be the best. Plus, I had heard few months ago that BlueBells as well as Black-Raven Alphasâ are slowly trying to swallow up Gold-Dust to their own pack. Thatâs seriously wrong.
The last pack was ThunderSky and here too I had to think a lot until I finally realized that SECURITY FORCES NEED TO BE TIGHTENED in that pack. Or else Randall and his full team would never have been successful in building a nest in Arthurâs pack.
Once I was done, I stared at the words again and again, wondering how I should help them. I already knew what to do to Reeceâs pack and Marcoâs pack. But I didnât know how to help the other three. While I was thinking for a solution, I also remembered about the Sorority and so, I even wrote about them.
Sorority- TIME FOR A CHANGE.
Then Randallâ¦. The coward was hiding in BlueBells and I knew what I am going to do about it. The only thing that would give me satisfaction was killing him and nothing else.
Switching on my laptop, I sent a mail to Reece Burdock of BlueBells pack, fully aware of what his answer is going to be. The mail I sent was through my personal account and not the one belonging to the pack. I knew Reece wants Randall to stand against me and I wanted Reece to want Randall.
Smirking, I shut down my laptop and went back to sleep.
I was woken up by someone clutching my hair and pulling it real hard. Groaning, I scratched my head without opening my eyes.
A split second later, my hair was pulled again and my eyes flew open in anger. I was about to shout at Rett, asking what was wrong with him. However, when I turned to look, I saw Luka beside me on the bed, catching a fistful of my hair and trying to eat it.
Luka flashed a cute baby smile when he saw me and my heart just melted right then and there. âAwwâ I cooed sitting on the bed. âWhat are you doing here?â I asked picking him up and helping him stand on my lap. As a reply, he just tried to eat more of my hair. I looked at the bed and realized that someone must have put Luka down here for a nap because there were pillows placed at the side so that he wouldnât fall.
âLetâs take you to your mamaâ I said slowly pulling tendrils of my hair from his mouth as well as from his chubby fist.
My husband and my friends were all there downstairs, talking, laughing. Looking at them, happy, I knew this day would definitely be good.
âOh! He woke upâ Sveta said walking towards us.
âAnd woke me up tooâ I said and after kissing Lukaâs cheeks, I handed him to Sveta.
âWhat were you guys talking about?â I demanded sitting beside Cam. âYou got any mails?â
âNo. No mails. But we kind of have a plan on what to do with Randall?â Jan said excitedly.
I stiffened as I heard it and so did my wolf because she guessed their plan would be something that would create a barrier in her plan.
âWhat plan?â I asked uneasily.
âWe are going to force Reece to surrender Randallâ Rett answered and I gritted my teeth, because like I expected this plan came in between what I wanted for the welfare of the BlueBells pack. âReece obviously wants the friendship of other Alphasâ for his as well as his packs welfare.â
âSo, we are going to remind him of that particular thing and make him realize his stupidity. Ultimately Reece will kick out Randall and then you can kill himâ Jan finished cheerfully and I closed my eyes shut.
My reaction wasnât the same as they expected because the room turned silent all of a sudden, while I pinched the bridge of my nose.
âYou donât like the planâ Jan stated and I opened my eyes. When my eyes clashed with Janâs grey-green eyes, I compressed my lips and shook my head as a negative.
âWhy?â Rett asked in bewilderment.
âI⦠I have considered your plan last night. Itâs good, I know, but only for me because I get to kill Randall and for Reece, because he can continue being an alpha. But what about Reeceâs pack wolves?â I asked standing up, looking at Rett. âYou said they were helpful to you when you were searching for me, weeks ago. Think about them. For my own selfish needs, I cannot put them through more torture. If I go through with this then itâs like I will forever owe Reece a favor and I donât want to owe anything to that muttâ I hissed through gritted teeth. âReece is not fit to be an Alpha and I want him out. He is a mad person who terrorizes his own pack wolves.â
âThen what are you planning to do?â Rett demanded and now, I smirked.
âThe first step in overthrowing Reece from his title was taken by him itselfâ I said rising my chin.
âBy giving shelter to Randall he put the first nail to his coffinâ Cam agreed.
âHis pack wolves already want him gone and thatâs in our favor again. I sent a mail to him yesterday and the reply from that mail isâ¦â I looked around for my cellphone and Terence pointed his index towards the dining table. Sighing, I unlocked the screen and checked my mail. I shook my head when I read Reeceâs reply to my mail- of asking him to politely let go of Randall and stop the war.
âWhat did the bastard reply?â
âFUCK OFFâ I said with a chuckle. âThat too in capital letters. Anyway, I knew his reply would be something as stupid as this. I wanted it to be that wayâ I said with a shrug, dropping my cell phone on the couch.
âThen how are you going to kill Randall?â Terence asked confused.
âI am going to enter Reeceâs pack and kill himâ I said haughtily and my wolf agreed with the thought.
âYou are entering his pack? What about the Sorority?â Cam asked startled.
âSorority needs to change. They are nobody to command me or punish me. I would have respected them had they done something worthy of that respect. But since I got one chance from the goddess herself, I am going to give them one chance too. I am going to give one chance to the Sorority and see if they take the right decision. If they donât, then I will take chargeâ I declared through gritted teeth.
I let out a breath and looked at my friends only to find them staring at me in amazement. Even Luka. Well, he was staring more out of curiosity.
âWhat?â I asked uncomfortably.
âYou sound so different⦠in a good way thoughâ Sveta said tenderly.
âDifferent? Like?â I grilled.
âLike a leaderâ Rett replied, watching me with a proud smile and I flushed.
âOhâ I said and they chuckled.
âYou are right. We have to take BlueBells wolves into consideration tooâ Rett said and everyone nodded.
âSo, are you sure about killing Randall by entering Reeceâs pack? Ignoring the laws?â Terence asked unsurely.
âOur law clearly states that we shouldnât provide shelter to law breakers. Randall broke the law years ago and Reece provided shelter to him. And what Randall did to me, is horribly wrong. Even the ones who wrote those laws might not have imagined something like that could have happened. He is a cunning person, a trickster, a manipulator and one who is involved in dark practices, which by the way, is banned by our law. By killing him, I honestly think I am doing to a favor to our kindâ I concluded smoothly.
âTrue. If we want to stop the war then we have to kill Randall firstâ Jan growled and I sent her a grateful smile.
âOkay. So whatâs the plan?â Terence asked.
Around ten that morning, I was alone in the house and chopping vegetables for lunch, while the maid was vacuuming. Jan came in ten minutes later and sat facing me in the counter.
âWhat happened?â I queried curiously. She had gone to work and was supposed to return home afternoon, but she was early.
âThe model got rashes on her face that no amount of make-up could hideâ Jan said sourly picking a piece of carrot. I slapped her hands with the knife but she still popped a piece into her mouth grinning triumphantly. Seeing that, I pulled the bowl containing the chopped pieces of carrot closer to myself.
âYou are sure about this, right?â she asked and I looked up to find her staring at me with a concerned look. I knew what the âthisâ she referred here was.
âYesâ I replied with a nod.
âAfter they accept you, you will always be in dangerâ Jan said in a low voice and smiling, I kept down my knife.
âThatâs a risk I am prepared to takeâ I told her with utmost sincerity in my tone. âBut I also know that I am not the one who is going to die so easilyâ I winked and Jan chuckled.
âGoddess is always with usâ she said placing a hand over mine.
âI donât want wolves thinking I am the goddess. I just donât want that. All I want is for them to look at me as a friend than a leaderâ I told her.
âJust be yourself. Be the Templar who is brave and the Templar who is strong. When you are like that with other people itâs impossible not to become your friendâ she said and I laughed.
âIs that how you became my friend?â I asked her curiously.
âNo. All I saw that day, on the beach, was a nicer and sane version of meâ she said with a grin.
âThatâs trueâ I said agreeing with me being a normal version of her.
âYou were supposed to say itâs notâ Jan said with a gasp and I rolled my eyes. âAll the best and I know you will kick-assâ she said after sometime and I nodded, but my eyes stung a little because I knew just like my mother and Everett, Jan will always be there for me.
âOkay. Now donât cry and close your refrigerator doorâ she said and I nodded. But the penny dropped the moment I turned to look at the already closed door of the refrigerator. Jan laughed loudly while stuffing four to five pieces of chopped carrot into her mouth.
âMonkeyâ I told her rolling my eyes and then leaned forward to hug her.
The plan to go to BlueBells even though was made today could be implemented only tomorrow. Since Jan and I were free for the rest of the day, we went to the hospital to see my niece. We were there for two hours and the doctor told us that Trudy would be discharged tomorrow.
We had gone out for late lunch and Rett, Terence and Keith joined us there.
âSo who is the mole?â Keith asked after taking a sip of his wine.
âThe Beta of BlueBells- Altonâ Rett answered. âHe had helped us that day and he is going to help us tomorrow.â
âThis guy can be trusted right?â I asked Rett and he nodded.
âI doubt he can do this aloneâ Keith said and I agreed with him wondering how Alton will help us alone.
âHe is not alone. He has a team, which consists of his friends who are also tired of Reeceâs reignâ Terence replied.
âThey were all helpful that day to usâ Jan added looking at me. She was referring to the day when the Beta and his friends gave Rett, Genessaâs contact ID.
If they trusted Alton and his team, then I must learn to trust them too.
âHe is going to send us the blueprint of the pack by noonâ Rett informed.
âYou called him?â
âNo. I am in contact with him through mailâ Rett said and I sighed.
âHe told you who all are in their pack?â
âJust two. Randall and one more guy named Fletcherâ
âAlex Fletcher?â Jan asked and Rett nodded with a growl.
âDid Matheson send any information about Fletcher to us?â I asked Jan. I had not checked the mail since morning.
âI didnât check the mailâ she said guiltily.
âItâs okay. Letâs check that at homeâ I said. The rest of the lunch, we continued planning on what each one of us had to do. Since Trudy was going to be discharged tomorrow, Keith could not come with us.
It was four when we returned home and the first thing I did was check the mail. Alpha Matheson had replied to the mail and had sent a file consisting information as well as the photo of Alex Fletcher.
I stiffened and my wolf growled murderously when I saw who Alexander Fletcher was.
âThis guy was in the clinic that day. I had seen him while he had come to drink water. At that time I assumed he was a patientâ Rett imparted furiously when he saw who Alex Fletcher was.
âNo. He is not a patientâ I said shaking my head. âHe is a doctorâ I said through gritted teeth. âThe same doctor who killed our child.â
Rett and I had gone to run that evening to let out some steam. Surely we could do it through other ways too, but I wanted a run. Itâs been a long time since I ran with him.
We ran and ran around the territory and very soon pack wolves too joined us. Around sunset, we decided to hold a competition were wolves would fight with the other. Ophelia and Mike would pick names of those who would fight and against me Molly was chosen.
She was scared but still she fought against me and I respected that. However, I was able to defeat her within a minute.
I had fun with my pack and after that we all had dinner in the pack house.
During dinner, Jan announced that two more Alphasâ had agreed to attend the meeting. I was pleased to hear it and so were everyone else from my pack.
The implementation of Randallâs execution plan began after lunch the next day.
Genessa was friends with Alton and through her, we got his contact number. I contacted him and he agreed to help me, without any condition. Few trusted wolves of BlueBells, who were Altonâs friends and who wanted to dethrone Reece agreed to help him. However, the plan was only for Randallâs execution and not to hurt Reece. Hence, I had told Alton and his friends that they are supposed to act as my enemy even though they are my friends.
Randall as well as Reece didnât know we had allies from BlueBells and that worked in our favor.
We left to BlueBells at two-thirty in the afternoon. Our team included me, Rett, Cam, Terence, Jan, Ben along with Philip and Humphrey. Â Jan and Humphrey were designated as driver to both SUVâs. Our route to go to BlueBells pack was through Myronâs pack as well as Grantâs pack, both our allies.
The journey lasted nearly four hours and as expected the sun was already below the horizon when we reached there.
Unfortunately for us, the guards of the BlueBells pack were not included in Altonâs trusted circle and so, we had to take care of them. Humphrey parked the car outside BlueBells territory, quite far from any guards view. Jan parked her car behind us.
I handed two cans of knock-out gas spray to Philip, one of the strongest fighters of my pack. Knock-out gas also called as sleeping gas and today it would help me in incapacitating the guards. The plan was dramatic. The guards of the BlueBells pack might recognize me and others, but they donât know Philip and hence, he is the one who is going to make the first move
âYou ready?â I asked Philip, who was sitting in the passenger side of the car.
âYesâ he replied after climbing out and I smiled.
âGoâ I told him and he started running.
Once the BlueBells guards spot him they would huddle closer to stop him. The moment they create a barrier, Philip would make his move by spraying the gas in their face.
Philip came back two minutes later and signaled us to come ahead. Humphrey started driving again and after Philip climbed in, we drove inside the BlueBells pack territory.
âGood job. All four are downâ Rett told to Philip seeing the guards slumped on the ground.
âIt was quick right?â I asked.
âYes. They were down within five seconds. I doubt they got a chance to communicate with othersâ he said and I sighed. The effect would last for almost sixty to ninety minutes and we had that much time to make it out of here.
The blueprint of this pack was given to by Alton and we were informed that Randall was in the guest house of the pack territory, which was ten minutes away from Reeceâs house. But directly going to the guest house would make Reece suspicious on his own pack members and hence we had to barge into Reeceâs home first.
The wolves who were running in the woods spotted our cars, but none stopped us. They probably thought we gained access to enter the territory.
Humphrey was driving the first car in which, Rett, I and Philip were in. The others were in the second car. Once we spotted Reeceâs house, Humphrey stopped the car but the other car went ahead.
âTime for some fake actionâ Rett said with a grin climbing out of the car along with me and Philip. Rett said fake action because most of the wolves near Reeceâs house were working with us.
âHey youâ one of them said and Rett rushed to him and punched him in the face and knocked him out. I guess he doesnât work with us. I didnât know who worked with us but Alton had told me that I must knock all of them out. Thatâs what I did.
âCatch herâ one person shouted. I rushed towards him and slammed my elbow on his stomach first and then his face. âLunaâ he gasped out before losing conscious and I paled when I realized that he was part of the plan. Thankfully, I just knocked him out.
Rett had already knocked four of them and Philip another three. I saw two more approaching me and I didnât know if they were working for me or not. Leaping high in the air and twirling, I kicked both of them in the face one after the other and they fell on the ground.
âWhat the hell is going on here?â Reece shouted standing near the main door of his house. Alton and Wade, the beta and third-in-command of BlueBells pack, who worked with us, were standing behind him. âYou bitchâ Reece growled out the moment he spotted me. âKill herâ he commanded and Alton and Wade rushed towards me. Rett rushed to stop them and fought with them.
âPhilâ I called and Philip threw a can which I caught very easily. Using my inhumane speed, I rushed towards Reece and holding him by the neck, I slammed his head to the wall.
He growled murderously and clawed my hands. Even though they hurt, I didnât loosen the hold I had on his neck. âYou are going to pay for thisâ he spat while I sprayed the knock-out gas on him. I jumped backwards before Reece could fall upon me after losing conscious.
Once he was down on the ground, I kicked him in the stomach and then turned to look at Rett. Wade had lost conscious but not Alton.
I gritted my teeth when I spotted more wolves from BlueBells pack. They had come to fight but they were hesitating after they saw me.
The wolves seemed shocked by what I did, but even then they didnât approach me. It kind of made me nervous. However, I didnât let that deter me. My main motive of coming here was Randall and I had to focus on it.
I looked at Alton and he nodded slowly, making sure no one in his pack saw him doing that.
âSpray the gas on himâ I commanded.
Once Alton lost conscious, I glanced at Rett, who gave an encouraging smile. âI will get Randallâ he said and I nodded.
After he left, Philip and Humphrey stood behind me as my guards. The BlueBells pack wolves were standing in closer to each other and by their expression, it was clear they were scared to approach me.
âI have come here to take a rogue that your Alpha has been giving shelter since yesterdayâ I said in a loud voice. âIf you try to stop me, feel free to do so. But remember one thing that I will not leave until I take Randall with meâ I announced with a feral growl and the BlueBells pack wolves nodded nervously.
âHe is in the guest-houseâ one of the lady said in a feeble voice.
âYou can take himâ
âWe are not going to stop youâ
âWe do not want to get into a war with your packâ
âOur Alpha is forcing us to go into war with you.â
I tensed when I heard them muttering in a weak voice. They had so many problems and when I heard them, I decided that I am going to help these wolves and make this pack a wonderful home to them.
EVERETT P.O.V
I looked at the small crowd of BlueBells pack wolves surrounding us. We had entered into their land and attacked their Alpha. Yet, no one from the pack was ready to fight against Templar. Instead, they were all staring at her with wide eyes.
This pack deserved so much better than Reece. I wonder how Templar is going to help this pack.
âSpray the gas on himâ I heard Templar saying and immediately Philip stepped ahead and sprayed it on Altonâs face. The knock-out gas did its work and now Alton was lying near my feet. If it werenât for Alton and his teams help, then we would never have been able to get so into the BlueBells territory. But for Altonâs protection, we had to pretend he was our enemy too.
I looked at Templar who was staring at the crowd. She was nervous and so were they, but I knew she will be able to handle them. Ever since she got back her wolf, there have been incredible changes in her. She knew she had responsibilities that stretched far more than taking care of just one pack and now she was ready to take them all on her shoulders. It might be hard, but no matter what, I will always be there with her. My wolf bobbed his big head in agreement at that thought.
Templar looked at me with anxious eyes and I shot her an encouraging smile hoping it would calm her down. Time was running down and we had to leave ASAP. âI will get Randallâ I told her and she nodded.
âStay close to Lunaâ I commanded to Philip and Humphrey who immediately went and stood behind her guarding her.
I knew these wolves wouldnât hurt Templar and so I raced to the guest house, which was ten minutes away from Reeceâs house.
The other SUV was parked a few meters away from the guest house. I could see January sitting in the driverâs seat and tapping the steering wheel impatiently.
âWhatâs the status here?â I demanded through the link.
âThey have surrounded the blue house and are about to burst in soonâ she replied.
âDonât go in. I am comingâ I told Terence through the link.
Slowly, I walked towards the house after hurdling over the compound wall; I made my way towards the main door, along with Cam. Ben and Terence were asked to cover from the back.
Before I could barge in, the front door opened and two men came out. I stopped in my tracks when I saw them and so did they. Time froze for a moment when my eyes clashed with the tortoise shell cat eyes of Randallâs. His eyes showed dread and my wolf growled maliciously.
He was the one who had caused so much pain to my mate. I will never forgive or forget that. A chill runs down my spine and I get a hollow, panicky feeling every time I recall Templarâs cries the night she came to know what they did to our baby. Her sobs were louder than the laps of the ocean waves and everyone in the pack had heard that.
When I heard her cry, I knew something bad was done to her in that one week. But I never thought Randall and his men would sink so low.
I growled again, in the same malicious way, while my wolf bared his fangs.
The other guy, Dr. Fletcher, who was with Randall reacted quickly and started running away. He couldnât go far. Ben and Terence caught him and knocked him out. Randall stopped in his tracks and kept staring at me.
âRemember the promise I made?â I asked cocking an eyebrow and he gulped.
Randall was shocked. He didnât expect this. He thought he was safe in BlueBells but now he had no place to escape. We had him surrounded.
âI swore that on the eleventh day, I, myself, am going to bring the white wolf here and now she is hereâ I said through gritted teeth and a muscle in his jaw twitched.
âKnock him outâ I commanded to Cam.
While Cam stepped forward Randall attempted to run, but I quickly caught him and roughly shoved him against the tree. Before I could trap him, he ran past me and I followed after him. He wasnât as fast as me and hence I could catch him very easily, but as I pressed his nape and pinned him to the ground, I saw the crowd watching me with wide eyes. We were in front of Reeceâs house again.
The crowd spread apart to make way for Templar to stand at front. Beneath me, I heard Randall groaning. Clutching his hair in a tight grip, I forced him to raise his head and look up.
Templar rumbled murderously and her eyes turned red when she saw him.
âNot now baby. You told so remember?â I reminded through the link and after taking a deep breath, she nodded.
âCan you see her, the white wolf?â I demanded grinding my teeth, before punching his head and knocking him out. Ben got a syringe and I punctured it to Randallâs neck.
The effect was immediate and he lost conscious. Thatâs for drugging my mate.
I stood up straight and saw at Randallâs motionless body in distaste. He wouldnât wake up until tomorrow morning.
The doctor was put in the second vehicle which January was driving, while Randall was going to be taken in our SUV. I called Humphrey through the link and he helped in shoving Randall inside the car.
The BlueBells pack wolves, mostly ladies saw us through the windows of their homes, but none tried to stop us. Templar was right. We had to consider the pack wolves of bluebells because they are not willing to fight against our pack. They were forced to do so by Reece.
When I went back to the guest house, Terence and Cam had already put the doctor in their car. After that we drove straight to Reeceâs house to pick Templar and Philip. The crowd was still circled around Templar, but now they were talking to her. An elderly lady was holding Templarâs hand and weeping. I saw Templar, who looked shaken.
Climbing out, I reached for her and encircled an arm around her waist.
âYou alright?â
âHow could I have been so blind?â she said instead and I furrowed my brows.
âPlease take us to your pack. We cannot live hereâ the elderly lady continued sobbing, not letting go of Templarâs hands.
âHe is a very bad person. He is even forcing my son to fight in the warâ another lady cried, holding hands of a boy who was a wolf, but I suspect he had shifted recently. I growled when I heard it and so did Templar.
âHas Reece always been this unstable?â I asked the lady.
âYes. He was the Alphasâ younger son, always neglected by his parents. They as well as his brother were killed together in an accident in which only Reece survivedâ a middle-aged man began. âWe found him in the hospital and he told us that the car fell off the cliff and got wrecked, but some of us suspect he lied and in fact killed his own parents and brotherâ the man concluded in a weak voice.
âBut you are not sureâ I said and the man nodded.
âNo one knows except for himâ the man said pointing at Reeceâs still body. âHe took the title almost immediately after that and ever since then the state of the pack has been going from bad to worse. It turned worse after his mate rejected him.â
My eyebrows rose up when I heard those words and so did Templarâs.
âReece has a mate?â Templarâs voice was a whisper.
âYesâ another man said. âHer name is Zandraâ
âWhere is she now?â Templar enquired.
âWe donât know. But she is married to someone elseâ the same man who spoke earlier answered. âA human they say.â
âWhy did she reject him?â I asked with a frown.
âReece killed her mother.â I inhaled sharply and Templar clenched her fists after she heard the words.
âDoes anyone here know where Zandra is now?â Templar asked the crowd in a loud voice.
âNo. After she ran away from the pack, no one knows where she isâ was the reply we got.
Templar nodded and after taking a deep breath, said out loud, âI have heard you and I have realized what your pack is going through. I am going to help you all.â
The crowd nodded slowly, acknowledging it.
âThe war is NOT going to happenâ Templar shouted. The crowd sighed and then clapped in unison. âYou have my word on thatâ she finished dexterously. âBut I want you all to do something for me firstâ she said and they eagerly agreed. âWhen Reece wakes up, he might ask you all why you didnât stop me. Just tell him that-â
âWe saw nothingâ the man who had spoken earlier broke in and I cocked an eyebrow.
âWho are you to the pack?â I inquired.
âAltonâs father. I was the former betaâ he said and when I looked at his hazel eyes, I knew he was aware that Alton had helped us today.
âThank-youâ Templar said with a smile. âI am leaving now. But I will be back soonâ Templar swore and then holding her hand, I started walking towards our SUV.
We were driving back to our pack through the same route we had come. I looked at Templar, who with her head rested against the window, looked lost in her own thoughts. I entwined her fingers with mine and she looked and smiled softly.
âEverything is going to be fineâ I assured her and she rested her head against my shoulders.
âI hope so tooâ she whispered softly while I kissed the back of her hand. My wolf sighed and encouraged me to provide more comfort to her through the link. I closed my eyes and did the same.
I woke up when the car stopped. Since it was a long journey, Philip switched places with Humphrey. Templar was fast asleep beside me and I turned to look at Randall in the backseat. Since he was drugged, there was no way he is going to wake up anytime soon.
âLetâs goâ I told Philip, who nodded and brought the engine back to life.
Almost five minute later, my cellphone started ringing. I frowned when I saw the unknown number but still answered the call.
âYou are going to pay for thisâ Reece spat out furiously from the other end of the line and I rolled my eyes. âYou, your mate, your whole pack is going to pay for this. All of you will die. I am going to kill every one of youâ he yelled and I placed the phone away from my ear, unable to hear all the shouting.
âPay for what?â I asked just for my amusement, when I was sure he was done shouting.
âYou kidnapped a wolf from my packâ Reece bellowed. âIf you donât want the Sorority getting to know about this, then return Randall and Fletcherâ he threatened and I laughed in his face. He wouldnât be able to complain to the Sorority because then he will be asked what was a rogue doing in his pack and without doubt, Reece will not have an answer to that.
My laugh was like a slap to Reeceâs face and I felt immense satisfaction when I heard him snarl in rage.
âYou are going to die soon Green. You are going to die soon. I will be the one who is going to kill you as well as your mateâ he spat and I clenched my fists, while my wolf growled savagely.
Even though I wanted to rip his head off, I couldnât because he wasnât in front of me. Besides, I had a plan to follow and I couldnât do or say something stupid which would put Altonâs as well as his teamâs life in danger.
Hence I took a deep breath and said-
âGood luckâ
