Chapter 693 - This Is a Little Strange, Isn’t It?

Gu Mian shook her head very honestly. When Su Qianxun saw that, she asked the staff member to pack up the sapphire necktie too. She footed the bill and told Gu Mian to give the necktie to Tang Zui as a Chinese New Year present.

As Gu Mian did not want Su Qianxun to know that her relationship with Tang Zui was a problematic one, she kept the necktie for the time being. She would decide on whether to give the necktie to Tang Zui or not later.

Su Qianxun also bought three new sets of clothes for her younger brother. After she was done, she held hands with Gu Mian as they headed to the part of the mall where the women’s boutiques were located. Su Qianxun did not need any more clothes since Long Sijue purchased a few hundred clothing items for her every time a new season came. Gu Mian, though, planned to get some new clothes.

As the saying went, “a person cannot avoid his or her enemy”. The person who came up with this saying definitely got it right!

Su Qianxun and Gu Mian entered a women’s boutique, and Qiao Yiren was also there with her friends. The staff members were fans of Qiao Yiren’s, and they followed her around constantly as they attended to her. It was obvious that they were quite enthusiastic about having Qiao Yiren in the shop.

When Qiao Yiren saw Su Qianxun, she walked over with a sneer. She crossed her arms before her chest and said arrogantly, “Su Qianxun, I can’t believe that you’re shameless enough to go shopping after what happened!”

“Since you’re shameless enough to do so as well, why wouldn’t I be?” Su Qianxun did not even bother to look at Qiao Yiren as she picked out some clothes for Gu Mian to try.

“Hmph, do you think that you’ll shoot to fame just because you’re staring in an advertisement? Let me tell you, as long as I’m alive, I’ll never let that happen!” The two staff members, who were Qiao Yiren’s fans, were extremely shocked when they heard what she said. They did not expect her to be such a person.

“Is that so? Let’s wait and see, then.” Su Qianxun deliberately flashed a bright smile. Her smile was so dazzling that it could have sent anyone who saw it into a daze.

Qiao Yiren was so jealous that her face contorted.”You’re just a nobody who got lucky. Let’s see what happens after Chinese New Year!”

After she said that, she left furiously.

“It seems like Qiao Yiren has gotten cleverer,” Gu Mian said as she stared after the woman.

“Su Manni is a cunning person... Now that ninety percent of her dreams have become a reality, she has definitely been keeping a close eye on Qiao Yiren. She must have been teaching Qiao Yiren a trick or two and telling her to restrain herself.”

Su Qianxun knew Su Manni very well. That woman was capable of lying low for forty years, eventually destroying her adoptive family. She had to possess tremendous mental endurance to be able to do that.

Qiao Yiren was far less cunning than Su Manni.

However, Qiao Yiren was lucky in the sense that she had a mother who had everything laid out for her.

“Can you give me two of both of these?” Gu Mian found two of the dresses quite pretty and decided to purchase them.

“Why are you buying two of the same dresses?” Su Qianxun looked at Gu Mian in bewilderment.

“It’s for Yan’er. She asked me to buy her whatever I’m buying when I go clothes shopping. I have no idea what’s on that girl’s mind either.” Gu Mian shook her head, but it did not change the fact that she had unconditional affection for her younger sister.

“That’s a little strange, isn’t it?” Su Qianxun furrowed her eyebrows. She had always thought of Gu Yan as a pampered and selfish child.

However, Gu Yan merely wanted the same clothes as her older sister, and it was not a big deal. Hence, Su Qianxun did not think much about it.

After they finished clothes shopping, the two young women bought their family members some Chinese New Year gifts. By the end of it, both of them were carrying a lot of shopping bags. Su Qianxun told Gu Mian that she needed to buy one last gift.

“What else are you buying? You look like you’re almost done.”

“It’s a gift for a little boy!”

“Little boy? What little boy?”Let’s not talk about it for now. You’ll know when you meet him in the future. He’s a really adorable child! You’ll definitely like him.” When Su Qianxun thought about Lin’er, she happily rushed toward the toys section.

Gu Mian shook her head in resignation when she saw how energetic Su Qianxun was. It took her quite some time to catch up with Su Qianxun.
