Chapter 79: Sparks in the Office
Bound by law
It was another late night at the law firm, and Estelle could feel the tension thick in the air. The kind of tension that wasn't born from deadlines or cases, but from the charged glances Celeste had been throwing her way all day. Sitting at her desk in Celeste's office, Estelle tried her best to focus on the contracts in front of her, but her mind kept drifting to the magnetic woman seated across the room.
Celeste was in her element, her sharp eyes scanning through a stack of files, her expression one of pure focus. Her blazer had been tossed over the back of her chair hours ago, her blouse unbuttoned just enough to reveal a sliver of skin that made Estelle's mouth go dry every time she glanced up. And Celeste knew it. She always knew.
"You're distracted, Miss Brooks," Celeste said suddenly, her voice smooth and teasing.
Estelle's head snapped up, her cheeks burning. "Iâno, I'm not."
Celeste leaned back in her chair, her lips curving into a smirk. "Oh, really? Because I've been watching you stare at the same paragraph for the past ten minutes."
Estelle groaned inwardly, knowing she'd been caught. "Okay, fine," she admitted, closing the file in front of her. "Maybe I'm a little distracted."
Celeste stood, the sound of her heels clicking against the hardwood floor sending a shiver down Estelle's spine. She walked around the desk, stopping just behind Estelle's chair. Leaning down, she rested her hands on the armrests, her breath warm against Estelle's ear.
"Do you know what happens when you lose focus, Miss Brooks?" Celeste's voice was low, dripping with authority.
Estelle's breath hitched, her pulse quickening as she shook her head. "What?"
Celeste's smirk deepened, and she spun Estelle's chair around, forcing their eyes to meet. "I remind you who's in charge."
Before Estelle could respond, Celeste's lips crashed against hers, stealing her breath. Estelle moaned softly, her hands flying up to grip Celeste's waist as the kiss deepened. Celeste's fingers tangled in Estelle's hair, tugging just enough to make her gasp. The sound of papers sliding off the desk barely registered as Celeste lifted Estelle onto the smooth surface, her body pressing firmly against hers.
"Do you have any idea what you do to me?" Celeste murmured against Estelle's lips, her hands roaming over her hips.
Estelle shivered, her head spinning. "I think I'm starting to."
Celeste chuckled, her lips trailing down Estelle's neck. "Good. Because you're not leaving this office until I've made it very clear."
They spent the next hour exploring each other, their passion overwhelming and consuming. By the time they finally pulled away, both were breathless and disheveled, the office a mess of scattered papers and discarded clothing.
"I think I'll have to distract you more often," Celeste teased, her smirk widening as she fixed her blouse.
Estelle laughed, her cheeks flushed. "I'm not complaining."
But as they cleaned up the evidence of their rendezvous, Estelle couldn't shake the feeling that their late-night escapades might not stay a secret forever.
