CHAPTER 184
CEO
Quincy had no choice but to hang up. Just after he hung up, the phone rang again.
âMr. York, it might be something urgent,â Quincy said.
Nash was reading todayâs newspaper. He looked up as the phone rang again, this time from Yvonne. Normally, her calls didnât come through to him. If they did, it had to be related to Nina. Nash closed the newspaper. âGive it to me.â
Quincy handed the phone to Nash. As soon as he answered, he heard Yvonneâs urgent voice on the other end. âNash, why arenât you answering your phone? Donât you care about Nina anymore?â Hearing her urgency, Nash pursed his lips. âWhatâs going on?â
âNinaâs phone is not working!â Yvonne said anxiously. âShe was supposed to meet me an hour ago, but she didnât show up. Sheâs always on time and never disappears without reason. I think something has happened to her!â
Nashâs heart tightened. Any lingering resentment disappeared in that moment, and he sat up straight. âDid she mention where she was going?â
Yvonne regretted not asking more questions. âI didnât ask. I donât know.â
âIâll find out.â
Nash had little time to talk to Yvonne, as finding Nina was urgent. He ended the call quickly and, despite the IV still attached to his hand, he tore it off without hesitation. Enduring the pain, he stood up and instructed Quincy, âGet the car ready!â
Although Quincy was still concerned about Nashâs well-being, finding Nina was now the top priority. He promptly ordered someone to prepare the car.
Nash quickly dressed and left the room just as the doctor arrived for rounds. Spotting Nash, the doctor called out, âMr. York, where are you going? Your body hasnât fully recovered from the surgery. You shouldnât engage in strenuous activity!â
Nash couldnât have cared less. As Yvonne had mentioned, Nina wouldnât have disappeared without reason. Missing their appointment meant something had happened.
The car was parked at the hospital entrance. Nash got in and asked, âHave you found out where Nina is today?â
âShe went to the police station and then to a private hospital,â came the reply.
Nash fell into deep thought. Why did she go to a private hospital? He remembered her last visit to the hospital, claiming it was for irregular menstruation, but nothing came of it. Now she had gone to a private hospital again.
âFind out why she went there.â
Nash suddenly noticed that Ninaâs recent behavior was unusually strange. She seemed eager to divorce him and kept pushing him away. âMr. York, we couldnât find anything,â they told him.
âLetâs go there anyway,â Nash replied.
They arrived at the private hospital. The car was parked in the underground garage, and they soon located Ninaâs car.
âMr. York, the car is here, but sheâs not around,â Quincy said, picking up the phone lying next to the car. âHer phone is on the ground.â
The car was there, but Nina was not around. Her phone was on the ground, and her bag was in the car. The scene looked like a kidnapping.
Nashâs expression turned serious.
He opened the phone, and the first name in the contacts list was his ownon that moment, Nina must have been trying to call for help.
Nash became increasingly anxious. He checked the call logs and saw a call to Yvonne made half an hour before.
âIt takes half an hour to get from the police station to this hospital.â
âLetâs check the surveillance footage first,â Nash said.
There were cameras everywhere, so the footage should capture what happened. In the surveillance footage, Nina was attacked from behind by someone wearing a mask. After she passed out, the person carried her away.
âMr. York, weâve found Mrs. Yorkâs whereabouts!â
