Chapter 29
Love After Divorce
Chapter 29:.
Tristan wanted to say somethingâ¦
But in the end, he held back.
âGet in the car. Iâll take you home,â he said. After speaking, he turned around and got into the car, his back lonely.
Stella looked at his back and thought that since he hadnât said anything about her calling him Brother Tristan, she would assume he accepted it. She had already shown her dislike of him anyway.
Stella got into the car. The vehicle sped away, as if venting its anger. But, of course, since Stella was also in the car, even though she was driving at full speed, her pace was steady and she was driving smoothly.
At a red light, Tristan stopped the car and looked at her. âStellaâ¦. I wonât force you to accept me, but I wonât give up either,â he told her.
In all these years, it was true that I had never thought of giving her up, but I just couldnât do it.
When you fall in love with someone, itâs not easy to let go. When he learned that he had divorced RK, he realized how much he wanted her in his life.
He rushed back, but she had been gone for six years. He thought she was gone from his life forever, that he would never see her again. But then⦠he saw her again. It was like a drowning man finding the shore.
He could not and would not give her up.
Stella listened to his words and pursed her lips. She didnât know what to answer-should she persuade him to give her up? But then she thought, why should she, what right did she have to stop him?
Stellaâs mind was filled with so many thoughts that she began to feel tired. Soon after, she fell asleep.
She was tired and felt very comfortable inside the car. Thanks to the medicine, she also felt that her stomach no longer hurtâ¦.
Thus, she slept soundly inside the car for the entire drive until Tristan took her out of the car and went home. At the door, he was about to wake the sleeping woman in his arms when the door opened from the inside.
It was Adrian who had opened the door for him.
The tales you love are at gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cøm
He was in the habit of sitting on the balcony waiting for his âDarlingâ so that he could see her as soon as she returned and open the door for her.
He had seen RK send her home twice and now, today, he saw Tristan do the same.
Since Adrian wasnât tall and Tristan was already holding Stella in his arms, he didnât see the girl inside the house and thought the door opened automatically. Adrian stood to the side, watching curiously as Tristan held Stella in his arms.
As Tristan was about to enter, he finally noticed the boy. He stopped and looked again at the number on the door. He remembered clearly that when he asked Stella for her address, she had told him the same house numberâ¦.
So why was there a child inside? wondered Tristan.
Tristan looked at Adrian and politely asked, âIs this Stellaâs house?â
Adrian nodded three times in a row.
Thinking the boy might not understand him, Tristan again asked, âIs this Stella Richardâs house?â
Adrian, confused as to why this man was holding his Darling and asking the same question again, still nodded three times.
Finally, he spoke. âWhy are you holding my Darling like that?â
After listening to his words, Tristan rememberedâ¦
When Stella was at the Richard familyâs home, she had received a voice mail from a child calling her âHoneyâ. She assumed it was the same child.
âSo youâre Stellaâs colleagueâs nephew. She drank too much and fell asleep in my car, so I brought her back.â But as soon as Tristan entered the house, he was blocked by Adrian. He didnât want to let him in.
Adrian listened to her words and frowned. He pointed to his mouth with his little finger and said, âWho told you that Iâm his colleagueâs nephew?â.
âWhat is she talking about?â Adrian thought. âCanât she see how much Darling and I are alike? Weâre clearly mother and son. This guy must have bad eyesight. Thatâs why he didnât noticeâ¦â
Tristan began to feel embarrassed. âMaybe the child doesnât understand the relationship between adults,â he thought, and decided not to insist.
Tristan tried to intervene again, but Adrian blocked him once more. Although the boy only reached Tristanâs waist, he stood firm in front of him like a small shield.
Adrian looked at him and said, âPut Darling on the couch and leave.â
Tristanâs mouth twitched⦠What a rude boyâ¦
When he wakes up, he has to ask Stella why he was so rude.
âIf I take her down, how will you get her to her room?â. Tristan looked at him and didnât get angry.
He took out his wallet, handed it to Adrian and said, âIâm a friend of Stellaâs, Iâm not a bad person. You can check my ID card. If you think Iâm a bad person, you can call the police.â
Adrian held his chin thoughtfully, scrutinizing Tristan from head to toe. Then he flipped through his wallet and looked at his ID card.
Adrian looked at his ID card with a straight face, as if he understood everything. But it was clear that he didnât understand anything? He just looked at the not-so-familiar words with a serious expression. Then he looked at his photo and at the man in front of him.
After a while, he nodded and said, âOkay, come.â
Tristanâs lips curved into a smile. It seemed the boy was very smart.
Adrian picked up his wallet and continued to look inside. Except for a few bank cards that he didnât understand, there were only a few coins and a bunch of bills. Looking at the money, Adrian thoughtâ¦.
âHe looks like heâs quite richâ¦. No, looking at his face and his money, heâs not only rich but also quite handsomeâ¦. So heâs rich and handsome at the same time.â
Since Emily had gone out to play with some of her friends, only Adrian had been left home alone at the time. There were three bedrooms.
This house was not as big as the Richard familyâs, but it was good enough for the three of them to live in.
Tristan gently placed Stella on the bed, then helped her change and tucked her in before quietly leaving the room.
Adrian stood in the doorway, his wallet bigger than his hand, watching Tristan. After a while, he thought, âLooks like this guy likes my Darlingâ¦â.
After closing Stellaâs door, Tristan did not leave immediately. Instead, he stood looking around the house where he lived. From the living room to the kitchen, Emilyâs room, and finally the third bedroomâ¦.
âIs this your room?â he asked looking at the boy next to him.
âYes,â Adrian replied.
âUncle? Am I that old?â thought Tristan, but he didnât care. âWhy are you living with Stella, is there room for your family?â
Adrian looked confused. He didnât understand the second part of the question at all, but he clearly understood the first halfâ¦.
She pouted with her little mouth and raised her blue eyes, frowning at him. âWhy canât I live with her, what kind of question is that?â.
Tristan laughed awkwardly. âDid I misunderstand something?â he wondered. In the Richard family, Stella had said that the boy in her house was her colleagueâs nephew. âHas something happened?â
Tristan looked at the boy in front of him, who was scowling like a wolf cub. He thought he looked adorable. It was rare for him to squat down in front of the boy and look at him. Now, looking at him like that, he found him even more adorableâ¦.
As I spoke to him, his voice became very soft and gentle. âThen tell me who you are, so I wonât misunderstand you.â
Adrian didnât expect this guy to be so gentle. He was even gentler than the best candidate he had in mind for his Darling: a man who drove a black Rolls-Royce. He liked him a lot.
I wanted to know who this guy was. But he was too proud to ask what he was. Instead, Adrian squinted and asked, âWho are you? Why should I tell you?â
âHeâs set a trap,â Tristan thought, smiling. âMy name is David Tristan. You can call me Uncle Tristan.â
âOh, wow! Weâve only met twice and already he wants me to call him Uncle Tristan,â Adrian thought. âIt seems this guy is one of my darlingâs suitors.â He seemed kind and gentle.
Plus, he had money and he was handsome. Of course, it wasnât just the money that mattered, but she had seen him take care of her Darling with finesse, which mattered most.
Looking at him, Adrian reluctantly introduced himself. âMy name is Adrian Richard.â
âAdrian Richard?â repeated Tristan, the smile disappearing from his face. There was only confusion written on his face.
He looked Adrian over from head to toe for quite a while, but he didnât remember any member of the Richard family having such a child.
At least he had grown up in the Richard family with Stella, but this child was unfamiliar to him.
Tristan looked at him and said nonchalantly, âSo your last name is Richard, too.â
Adrian looked at him in confusion. He stood in front of Tristan, looked at him with his big blue eyes and nodded innocently. He
opened his mouth and said, âMy Darlingâs last name is Richard, so of course my last name is Richard too.â
But when Adrian finished speaking, the whole room fell silent. It was so silent that, if it werenât for the two figures standing there, one might think it was empty.
Adrian looked at Tristan for a while and suddenly got scared. âDid I say something wrong?â
He looked at the guy, who a minute ago seemed nice and now looked scary. Tristan did not respond immediately. He looked at the boy again from head to toe and then back at his face. âYouâ¦â
He took a deep breath and asked, âAre you Stellaâs son?â
Adrian was quite startled by this question and quickly took two steps backâ¦. There was only confusion in his blue eyes.
But then he nodded and replied in his childish voice, âYes, Uncle. Donât you think we look alike?â
Once again, the room fell silent. The smile had been a long one on Tristanâs part. He did not answer Adrianâs question. His face was cold and he looked like he was going to explode at any moment.
After staring at each other for a moment, âBang.â Tristan slammed the door and left without looking back.
