Chapter 19

Love After Divorce

Chapter 19:.

Stella could not have imagined even in her wildest dreams that the father and son had already exchanged glances.

So, just like yesterday, she responded in kind: “Yes, yes. My colleague was going in the same direction, so he dropped me off at home.”

But how could Stella know her son’s thoughts? If she knew, she would panic. For example, she didn’t know that Adrian had already seen RK.

Nor did she know that Adrian had looked on the Internet and learned that the car RK was driving wasn’t just any car: it was incredibly expensive and a normal colleague couldn’t afford it.

Adrian was simply confused about RK, and so he innocently asked Stella, “Honey, do you like your colleague and do you want him to be my stepfather?”

He paused before adding, “I think your colleague must really like you, since he sent you home last night. You don’t have to stay single all your life just because of me.”

Stepfather? Did Adrian want his biological father to be his stepfather?

Wait… this relationship didn’t seem right….

Stella thought. She pinched Adrian’s ear and said, “Don’t talk nonsense. There’s nothing to it. He’s just a normal colleague…”

Adrian squealed as she pinched his ear, “Ow! That hurts!” Rubbing the sore spot with his chubby hand, he told her, “Honey, let me tell you, you’re very smart. If a man helps you get home every day, he likes you.”

Stella looked up at him and asked, “Where did you learn all this?”

“Honey, it’s no nonsense. I saw it on TV,” Adrian replied.

“Starting tomorrow you won’t be able to watch TV,” Stella said with a strict expression.

I had no idea what kind of programs were on the air that taught children such things.

“Honey, you believe me, don’t you? If your colleague sends you home again tomorrow, it means he likes you,” Adrian insisted.

Naturally, the little man referred to RK as a colleague. Stella rolled her eyes and tried to ignore the little matchmaker who was trying to pair her with RK.

Or rather… was trying to match her with her father at a glance.

Stella felt her eyes were too sharp. She picked up the little boy and changed the subject. “It’s getting late.

Let mommy help you bathe and put you to bed. You have to go to school tomorrow…”. He paused before adding, “And one more thing: you’re not allowed to mention her name in the future, okay?”

He was talking about RK, and she didn’t want that. If she was talking about RK, it meant she was paying attention to him.

Since she and RK were already divorced and there was nothing going on between them, she didn’t want Adrian to know anything about RK, especially since RK was her father. RK was already marrying Sophia and had nothing to do with them.

But what Stella didn’t know was….

Adrian was a very curious child, with a mind full of questions. He looked at Stella, wrapping his arms around her neck, and asked, “Why? Why don’t you want me to talk about him?

Honey, don’t you like him? I think he can support both of us because he drives such an expensive car? Darling, I think you should consider it.”

Thud!

Adrian was still chatting when Stella pulled him into the tub. She quickly sprayed his body with warm water…a baby getting chatty and trying to match her with RK.

Adrian, who had suddenly been thrown into the tub and splashed with water, looked at Stella with puffy cheeks. She looked like someone who had been harassed.

The next day…

In the RK Group…

Because of yesterday’s incident, when RK had helped her in front of everyone in the banquet hall, she became the hot topic of gossip within the company.

As soon as Stella arrived at work, she noticed the whispers and how everyone was looking at her.

Today, she was the topic of discussion.

Not only that…

He had also been labeled “seducing the boss.”

Of course, Elena had also heard about it. First thing in the morning, in front of the entire project department, she publicly criticized Stella.

“Stella Richard! As soon as I joined the company, I heard everyone talking about you. Not only that, but it’s also affecting the image of our project department. Do you realize the impact you’ve had on our entire project team?”

Elena was so furious that her face turned red with anger. The other members of the project department, who had been standing by watching, were secretly delighted by this confrontation.

“Yes, yes… You brought shame to our entire project team as soon as you arrived. If things go like this, how are we going to continue as a team? ”

“Right! Yeah, right. You’ve only been back a few days and you’re already hooking up with the big boss. I bet you were the same way overseas.”

“Who dares to talk nonsense about her?”

Emily had just arrived at the company and, before she could even put her bag down, she heard the harsh words and immediately stepped in front of Stella, protecting her.

“Who said it’s Stella making out with the big boss? Isn’t it already clear that Mr. RK knew her before?” Emily couldn’t just stand by and let them insult Stella.

But since she couldn’t reveal that Stella was RK’s ex-wife, she tried to defend her in another way. But what Emily didn’t know was that jealousy would lead others to attack her as well.

“Emily, what do you mean by that, are you implying that Mr. RK is in love with her, don’t you think you’re overdoing it?”

“Yeah, how could Mr. RK be interested in someone like her? Not to mention that he still has a fiancée. Even if he didn’t have one, I’m sure his taste can’t be poor enough to choose such a woman…”

“Miss Elena, I think we should move Stella out of our project department and have her start from the very basics. If she stays on the team any longer, she will ruin our reputation in the company.”

When one of them suggested it, all the others agreed.

Elena was a work-oriented person. She could tolerate many things in her life, but when it came to her work, she had no tolerance.

I was cornered by these people….. Stella, who was the topic of discussion all the time, was still standing there calmly. Elena looked at her and said…

“I will discuss this with Mr. RK.”

“What do you want to talk to me about?” suddenly, a deep voice came from nearby. Then footsteps echoed in the room.

Everyone turned their heads to see where the voice was coming from. A group of black-clad bodyguards entered, and leading them was the man himself.

Today, RK was wearing a black coat and black pants. His aura was imposing, almost regal. He was incredibly handsome and his presence attracted people’s attention.

He was like a walking magnet. Wherever he went, people were inevitably attracted to him. As always, he became the center of attention.
