Chapter 44

Author's Note

In Focus

It all started with a camera. A simple, almost insignificant moment—Ngern, earnest and determined, wanting to pick up photography for his niece's first birthday, and Jes, guarded but willing, stepping in to teach him. Neither of them could have predicted that those lessons would lead to something much greater. But isn't that how love often finds us? In the most unexpected of ways, slipping into our lives when we least expect it.

Ngern and Jes's journey was never meant to be grand or dramatic. It was about the small things— the late-night conversations, the quiet gestures of care that neither of them fully realized at first. From the very beginning, they had a rhythm, an unspoken understanding that only deepened as time went on. Jes was hesitant, wary of opening his heart, but Ngern, with his persistence and quiet warmth, found his way in.

There were highs—like the laughter-filled nights at Ngern's family home, the soft, intimate moments over meals, and the realization that home wasn't just a place, but a person. Jes, who had always been careful about where he belonged, found himself drawn into the warmth of Ngern's family, into their love and acceptance, until one day he realized he belonged there too. And then there were the lows—misunderstandings, jealousy, hesitation. The moments where insecurities threatened to pull them apart. But love, real love, isn't just about the easy moments. It's about the choice to stay, to fight for something worth keeping. And in the end, that's exactly what they did.

Through the lens of a camera, they captured more than just still images—they captured a story, one of patience, of longing, of finding love in places they never expected. What started as photography lessons turned into late-night talks, turned into quiet confessions, turned into something neither of them could deny. From being two people brought together by coincidence; they became a pair that couldn't be pulled apart.

When Ngern finally introduced Jes as his boyfriend, he realized something—his family had already seen what he had taken so long to put into words. To them, Jes had already become a part of their lives, someone they welcomed, someone they cherished. And to Ngern, Jes wasn't just someone he loved. He was home.

Looking back, it's funny how things fell into place. How a camera and a handful of photographs brought them together, but the moments they shared—the laughter, the quiet nights, the comfort of each other's presence—were what truly told their story.

In the end, it wasn't just about taking pictures. It was about creating memories. And for Ngern and Jes, the best ones were still to come. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Hope all of you will enjoy reading it as much as I did, penning it.

Till the next #lovewinsall :)
