Chapter 233 - Too Embarrassed to Face Anyone

After the meal, Ji Lingchen brought his little wife to a nearby shopping mall to kill some time before their movie.

“Hubby, there will be a lot of people in the theater, so you can’t kiss me.” Fang Xiaonuan reminded her husband.

“What movie?” Ji Lingchen asked.

Fang Xiaonuan blinked innocently, not daring to take out the movie tickets.

After entering, Ji Lingchen saw the promotional video and realized that it was a fantasy love movie with many intimate scenes. He turned to look at his shy little wife.

Fang Xiaonuan said shyly, “This movie has a higher rating online. It’s a couples’ movie and is perfect for newlyweds. That’s why I bought the ticket. The comments say that after a boyfriend watches it, his lust will be kindled and he will want to kiss his girlfriend. That’s why I wanted to warn you in advance.”

Ji Lingchen did not say anything, nor did he agree. He went to the front desk and bought Coke and popcorn. He handed the snacks to his wife.

Fang Xiaonuan held onto the Coke and popcorn as her husband led her into the waiting area. The two of them found a seat and sat down. Before their tickets were even checked, the gluttonous kitten grabbed some popcorn and ate it. As she ate, she chatted with her husband. “Honey, you bought too little popcorn. “Eat less. We still have to go to Shuxiang Garden tonight. If we’re too full, how will we eat dinner?”

The moment she heard that they were going to Shuxiang Garden, Fang Xiaonuan immediately fed the popcorn she was holding to the man beside her. “Hubby, then you should eat more. Otherwise, I’ll finish it.”

Ji Lingchen shook his head. He did not like to eat these things.

Fang Xiaonuan tried feeding him a few times, but he refused to eat it. She could not help but complain, “Hmph! You don’t even know how to share my burdens.”

Ji Lingchen wanted to retort, but he listened quietly.

They entered the theatre and soon, it was filled.

Less than an hour after the movie started, Fang Xiaonuan very consciously leaned on Ji Lingchen’s shoulder. He turned to look at his little wife beside him. She had actually fallen asleep. Not only did she finish the entire bucket of popcorn, but she also finished the Coke. In the end, she did not even finish the movie. She just went through the motions and fell asleep on his shoulder!

Ji Lingchen looked at her sleeping face and laughed for some reason. She was like sugar. She had come into his bland life and made it sweet. So, every time he looked at her, he could not help but laugh. He could not hide his happiness. He did not wake his wife up, but he was in no mood to continue watching the movie.

The movie ended, and the lights came on. The noise from the crowd woke Fang Xiaonuan up. “Ah? How did it end? I only closed my eyes for a moment.”

“You actually had your eyes closed for an hour.”

Fang Xiaonuan looked at the people leaving and said regretfully, “It’s all your fault. We spoke on the video call for too long last night. I woke up early today and fell asleep because I was too tired.”

The people around them left one after another, leaving only the husband and wife still seated.

After most of the people had left, Fang Xiaonuan stretched lazily, wanting to get up and leave.

Ji Lingchen did not want to walk so quickly, so he kept his eyes on his little wife.

Fang Xiaonuan asked, “Hubby, why are you staring at me? Don’t you see me enough at home? You can’t keep staring at me when we’re out. If you continue like this, your vision will become blurry.”

While Fang Xiaonuan was speaking, Ji Lingchen suddenly leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Perhaps it was because she had eaten a lot of sweet popcorn just now, but her mouth was sweet.

Ji Lingchen did not like sweet food, but he loved the sweetness that lingered on his wife’s lips. As their tongues intertwined, Fang Xiaonuan closed her eyes.

“Um, I’m sorry to disturb you. The movie has already ended.” The staff had come in to clean up the space. When they saw the two of them kissing, they had to tell them.

Fang Xiaonuan’s eyes shot open. A stranger had seen her kissing her husband! She was so embarrassed that she covered her face with both hands, not daring to look at anyone.
