The Unwanted Bride Of Atticus Fawn Chapter 223 Book 3 Chapter 59 ~WILOW~
Before I could understand what he was trying to tell me, I heard another loud bang. Whoever it was that had hit us a few seconds ago was doing it again.
It wasnât an accident; they intentionally hit us from the back.
Dante throws his shirt over my body before throwing me out of the jeep. I thought I would hit the ground, but to my surprise, he shifted right before my eyes, and my body fell on top of his wolf before I even had a chance to hit the ground.
It was the first time I was face to face with Danteâs wolf. Strangely, he brought me great comfort. I held onto him as he raced through the woods with me on his back. I couldnât resist rubbing my hands on his black fur; there were even some spots of brown. He was beautiful and huge. He looked like he could take down multiple other wolves simultaneously.
He moved so quickly that I couldnât tell if someone was following us. I buried my face against his fur and held on even tighter as he increased his speed.
Dante doesnât stop until we are in front of his home. When he slowed, I slowly got down from on top of him.
His wolf turns to look at me with curious eyes. He slowly moves towards me, and I donât move an inch. I let him sniff my neck and my hands before he moves backward.
Damonâs jeep pulls up beside us, and he gets out with Clarissa. Autumn and Griffin exit next.
Dante shifts back into his human form, and Damon throws him his pants.
fast update Dante looks at me, ignoring Damon. âAre you okay?â He asks as he approaches me.
Iâm shocked by his concern.
I nod, and only when he seems convinced Iâm not hurt does he turn back toward his brother.
âSomeone hit us from the back.â He tells him. âAt first, I thought it was an accident, but then they intentionally hit us again. I took Willow and ran with her. I didnât stop until I saw the house.â
âSomeone attacked you?â Clarissa asks in horror. âWho the hell is after you?â
Dante shrugged, âIt looked like a grey truck, but I couldnât get a good look at it or the driver since it was raining so much.â
âWhat the f**k is happening again?â Griffin demands. âDo we have another psycho person out for us?â
I wince at his question. I knew the last psychos after his family happened to be my family.
âSorry, Willow.â He apologizes when he remembers that I was here.
âItâs okay,â I assure him. I knew the damage my mother and sister had brought to their family.
Dante runs a hand down his face, âI should have stayed back. I should have fought, but I was too worried about Willow. The thought of whoever it was coming for her terrified me. I had to get her out of there to safety.â
My lips part, and Clarissaâs eyebrows nearly hit her head. Autumnâs expression mirrors her own. Theyâre both just as surprised as I am to hear Dante admit he was worried about my safety.
I donât think he even realizes how concerned he is for me. Heâs too caught up in everything to understand what heâd just said in front of everyone.
âYou think they were there for Willow?â Damon frowns. âWhy?â
âI donât know.â Dante sighs. âI canât explain it. I just had this bad feeling in my chest. I hope Iâm wrong.â
Autumn turns towards me, âis there someone that could be after you?â She asks me. âDid your sister and mother have any enemies you may have neglected to tell us?â
I shook my head, âI donât think so. My mother and sister often kept everything from me. I didnât even know about their plans to destroy your family until I heard from you. They kept every single thing from me. I was always locked up at home. They never let me go anywhere unless they were also with me.â
They all look like they pity me, and I hate the look on their faces.
âThat seems strange, doesnât it?â Clarissa asks Damon. âWhy would they hide her from the world? Why would they keep her locked up and away from everyone else? It almost seems like her mother was hiding her from someone.â
I never thought about it like that. Why would my mother need to hide me from anyone? She never mentioned anything to me. I always thought that they kept me from school because they didnât have enough money to send me. But could there have been another reason all this time?
Were those people responsible for hitting Danteâs jeep after me and not him?
