The voice made Jasper startle, and he immediately looked up at the person who spoke.
It was a slender young man with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his nose. He looked refined but also somewhat gloomy.
âMason!â Jasper was delighted and quickly stood up to walk towards the person. âWhy did you come back today?!â
âIâll be studying as an exchange student at Stanford University for six months,â Mason said.
âSix months?â Jasperâs face lit up with excitement. âWhy didnât you tell us earlier? That means weâll be alumni for six months!â
âYeah,â Mason replied with a nod.
Mason was known for being reserved and had little expression on his face, which contrasted sharply with Jasperâs excitement.
âBy the way, do you like men?â Mason asked Mick, following up on his previous question.
Mick raised his eyebrows and stood up, saying, âWhat if I said yes?â
âCongratulations,â Jasper replied readily.
Mick looked at his younger brother, âUnfortunately, I havenât found anyone yet. Actually, I donât care whether I fall in love with a man or a woman, but⦠no one has made me feel like I want to spend every moment with them and never get tired of them for the rest of my life.â
Although he was never short of women around him, such as when his mother and her friends used to gather and bring along their children.
He was also familiar with the girls from the Stephenson family, the Hart family, and the Weiss family, and he had two younger sisters of his own, so he didnât reject women, but he felt⦠troublesome.
For example, like Chandler, he had to accompany Tina to chase after stars. Although it seemed like Chandler was in control of Tina, he actually felt like Tina was in control of him.
Tina also hung out with the Weiss familyâs little girl Trista, as well as Harley and her own little sister Jasmine. The four of them would get together to chase after stars, gossip about celebrities, and sneak off to special bars to broaden their horizons.
Every time they did this, Mick, Chandler, Nelson, and Harleyâs fiancé Lornell would be at their witsâ end, staring at each other in confusion. So in Mickâs opinion, women were sometimes just trouble!
âEven if there is someone who makes you want to spend every moment with them, it doesnât necessarily mean you will end up together. The human heart is the most difficult thing to control in this world,â Mason said calmly.
Mick was taken aback and raised an eyebrow. âWhat, did my words just make you think of Veronica?â
Mason looked directly at Mick with his dark eyes and spoke in a indifferent tone, âWhy should I think about her? She and I have no relationship anymore.â
âIs that so?â Mick asked. âJasper told me earlier that she saw Veronica at a charity event. It seems like Veronica was having a tough time, being publicly humiliated by having drinks thrown at her, but she didnât dare say a word. Even though the Reed family could have paid for her tuition, she insisted on working hard and being a celebrity assistant. Itâs really sad that she had to go through that kind of humiliation.â
Mick spoke a lot at once, but unfortunately, Masonâs reaction disappointed him.
