âBut⦠when did you start liking me?â She asked in confusion.
âItâs been a long time, but if I had to say when I really made up my mind to like you, it would be during the time I lived with the Reed family.â He replied.
She widened her eyes in surprise. Oh my god, he was only a few years old back then!
âYou were still very young at that time, right?â She said in disbelief.
âWell, very young,â he answered with a smile.
âBut back then, could you be sure that your liking for me was a romantic one, between a boy and a girl?â she doubted, thinking that even if it was young love, it couldnât have been that early.
âAt that time, of course, the concept of âlikingâ couldnât have been so clear-cut. But even then, I had already decided that I wanted to be with you forever. As I grew up, I gradually understood what this feeling really meant,â William said.
Jasper stared at the person in front of her, feeling her heart suddenly in disarray.
He had been speaking in a gentle voice all along, and there was no pressure in his words. But she couldnât help feeling at a loss, and subconsciously didnât want to disappoint or sadden the person in front of her.
But what kind of feelings does she have for him?
During afternoon class, Jasper kept thinking about this question.
After finishing the public class in the afternoon, Jasper walked out of the lecture hall and saw someone passing by the classroom door. He walked over and said, âI heard that Roger from the chemistry department got into trouble with some thugs outside. It seems like he was surrounded by them outside!â
When the name Roger entered his ears, Jasper immediately stopped the person and asked, âWhat did you say? Roger was surrounded by people outside?â
âYeah, it seems like it happened in the alley on the next street. Some classmates saw it!â
âI heard that Roger provoked the girlfriend of that thug!â
âHow could Roger be interested in her? It seems like the girl was the one who actively pursued Roger!â
The other person and their companions were talking, while Jasper quickly ran towards the school gate.
When she arrived at the alley that others had mentioned, there were already many people gathered there, including some students from Stanford University.
Jasper squeezed her way into the crowd and saw only Roger, who was confronting a dozen or so young men, some of whom had tattoos on their bodies.
One of them, in particular, glared at Roger and said, âToday, youâre going to kneel down and apologize to me. If you do, Iâll forgive you. Otherwise, you can forget about studying at this school!â
Despite the other personâs harsh words, Roger remained unfazed and calmly replied, âI already told you, I donât even know your friend. And as for her feelings towards me, I canât control that.â
âWhat do you mean you donât know her? She came all the way to our school just for you and even confessed her feelings to you outside the library!â the other person shouted in anger.
Roger remained composed and said, âDo I have to know every person who likes me?â
âYouâ¦you think you can act tough just because of your looks?â the other person sneered, âI donât have time to talk nonsense with you guys here. Iâll say it one more time, move aside!â he said.
As soon as he spoke, the thugs were instantly furious and attacked Roger directly. The surrounding crowd gasped in shock.
