Ceres Beau.
"Maybe two more." I tell Derek as we stood in the kitchen grabbing the snacks that had just been delivered, the party was in full swing, my father and Gavin were manning the grill, the rest of my family well the ones that mattered except Hugh and Tyrell since they were with Peyton were either in the backyard mingling and dancing or with my daughter fawning over her.
The news of my coupleship with Gavin had been announced to everyone when we arrived and my father just smiled before taking Gavin over to the grill, I was sure the corn and meat wasn't the only thing being grilled, Harry and Klein were everywhere with their group of friends, turns out they were really popular, and in as much as I hated the idea, Vinnie Forester was their friend meaning Anderson was here, thank goodness his wife wasn't.
Derek had invited Craig to have some company that he could tease and drag to the guest room later to molest, I needed to lock that door later but circling back to the current conversation. "Are you sure he said two more, you guys already have three." Derek asserts trying to understand why Gavin would tell me he wanted to add two more kids to the three we already had.
"My guess is he wants to have kids with me you know, I don't know." I sigh and Derek nudges me by the hip, making me smile. "Cheer up, if he wants kids then have his kids, I mean where will you find a successful, gay man willing to marry for love and have a whole bunch of babies with you." Derek mentions and I found his point valid, there weren't a lot of guys like Gavin, he genuinely wanted a big family and that family with me.
"Look, can anyone win over your dad like that, dude is scarier than Hugh, and yet looks so yummy." Derek pointed out to my father and Gavin laughing by the grill and immediately my heart warmed, it was a beautiful sight, I immediately set down the bowls I held and took a picture. "Please stop fantasizing about my father, you have a whole meat rack over there." I tell Derek who hides his blush walking over to where Craig and Anderson were.
I made my way to Maya who was talking to one of the parents that had come for Klein's birthday. "How are you, how is the party?" I asked my assistant. "The best, you always did know how to pull off a great party, with great food, and oh yeah, meet James Goode, we went to highschool together." She rambled on and I found it adorable. "That's really good, nice to meet you James, which one is yours?" I asked and he pointed to a girl with a french braid and the cutest blue and yellow monochrome dress I had ever seen.
"My little queen, bossy little thing, she insisted we get Klein something sports related." He chortled and I found myself laughing along, my son really needed to pull back on his sporting addiction. "Then she knows him best, thank you for coming." I express my gratitude.
"No not at all, thank you Ceres for inviting us, we recently moved to this neighborhood and I was worried my baby wouldn't have friends, I'm glad I won't worry about that anymore, and I even found an old friend who is now a new one." He replies with a happy chuckle before drinking his juice. "Then I'm glad I could help." I tell him before leaving him and Maya to catch up more. "Nice party mister Beau." Anderson had finally caught up to me.
"Thank you Anderson, enjoying yourself?" I asked and he rubs the back of his neck nervously. "Surprisingly I am, thank you for not excluding my son from this, he absolutely adores Harry and Klein, I know it couldn't have been easy after everything so I'm grateful." He exclaims with a sincere look in his eyes. "They are just kids Anderson, I'm not the cruel monster you painted me out to be in court and I would never keep my sons away from their friends." I say emphasizing my words.
"That's good, I'm sorry about the past and I'm happy for you, he seems like a good man." Anderson responds and I see how hard it was to admit that, I guess he still thought that at some point I would get back together with Drake, his hopes would be crushed if he kept them. "He's a good man, and a good father, I couldn't ask for better." I smile toward him. "Good." Anderson accepts and I turn to leave going toward a group of kids, I was glad he didn't mention Drake or anything related to him, I didn't want to ruin my child's birthday.
"You guys having fun?!" I yelled because it was close to the speakers that were blasting music, I don't know how they could stand it. "Yeah!" That's all I needed to get out of there and head toward my father and the man I knew I loved, who had dropped a bomb on me when we were coming back home after the breakfast, he apparently wanted two more kids, and I didn't object yet I knew how hard it was taking care of children, but with him by my side, would it be so bad, I don't think so.
"Hey sugar, what's up?"Â Gavin embraces me with a kiss to my cheek and I couldn't help just feel tingly all over, he was just so sweet. "Nothing, I just wanted to visit the kings of the party." I joke but it was true, at any party the man at the grill, respect him, he was the king dictating and distributing whatever was on the grill to everyone.
"Dad, where did you get beer, this is a kids party, strictly juice or if I sneak you in some bernini or bacardi you act like its juice." I stated in a matter of fact tone but the two men laughing caught me off guard. "What did I tell you son, just like his mother, he can't stand not having given you the alcohol." My dad pointed out and I found his words disarming, I was happy he was happy, getting along with Gavin and actually telling him about my mother, my father never ever told anyone about my mother, he had really taken a liking to Gavin.
I could hear Derek screaming in my head to have his babies and dammit all, I was going to have Gavin's babies, how he could pull off getting liked by my dad just gave him exclusive rights to strip me naked and do whatever he wanted, he already had those but now, I would strip myself down, my own thoughts made me laugh as I joined the two.
"Here, have some chicken, I'll give you some corn later." My dad like always plates up for me and immediately I start eating, I couldn't resist the food he made, it might be charred or burnt, I would still eat it because despite how over cooked the chicken was, just knowing he made it, I wanted it, my kids had the same habit with the food I made, I guess they got it from me.
"We cut the cake, had a lot of kids eat cake that I'm sure will make them sick and Klein opened several presents from his uncles who either bought him sports themed or car themed presents, does anyone know Klein likes my little pony specifically Rainbow Dash and Rarity." Gavin explained and I frowned, I didn't know that at all. "That can't be true." My father disagreed. "Oh really." The man challenged, Gavin put two fingers in his mouth and whistled so loudly that it got everyone's attention and the dj paused the music.
Damn that was some dominant male typa shit, I was hot for him in that moment but I wanted to see where this was going. "So everyone gave my kid awesome presents and some of them he hasn't opened, don't worry, he will, but I wanted to give Klein one of the three birthday gifts I got for him with you guys here." He told everyone after they gathered and he waved at Maya who nodded and after a few minutes she came back holding a box.
"What did you get me?!" Klein was vibrating in anticipation, honestly so was everyone else. "I know how you love that gaming station in your room but then dad over there had to move it to the dull boring game room, so I had my guys over there renovate it." Gavin explained and my jaw dropped when he gave the box to Klein and he opened it.
It was a Rainbow Dash and Rarity theme headset along with keys, and a large poster he unfolded that had him screaming yes. "You should see the game room." Gavin suggested and Klein had his eyes widening in surprise and took off, we followed behind eagerly to find Klein, Harry next to him unlocking the game room door. "Yes!" My son screamed hugging Gavin like his life depended on it and I couldn't help the tears that stung my eyes.
His own father had never known him like that, to know that he had that he secretly liked two animated ponies with an unmatched passion, though I could understand it Klein like Rainbow Dash was full of life, energetic and athletic but also in his own way refined, had a knack for being creative and he was kind in his own way, it seemed ridiculous but Gavin had made it special for Klein, to not be ashamed of what he liked.
The whole game room had a burst of magic from the animation, the wallpaper, the fotons, the gaming equipment, all of it had been dunked in that pony magic and Klein looked like he was in heaven. "I'm not surprised the kid likes those ponies though, you had a thing with Voltron." My dad chuckles next to me and I laugh hugging him. "I have a thing for Optimus Prime now." I whisper in his ear and he shoots a skeptical eye my way.
"He is gonna be a great dad." My father whispers in my ear again as we stood side by side, I couldn't agree more, Gavin was priceless. "Dad you've got to come look." Klein pulled me toward into the room grinning happily. "Its so cool!" He jumped in absolute delight and invited his friends inside, Harry and Lola by his side equally excited.
"Are you crying?" Gavin teases and I nod, he didn't hesitate to hug me then. "Thank you so much, I think this is one of the best birthdays he'll remember." I mutter sniffling and Gavin chuckles. "You think so." He answers with a comforting hand rubbing my back. "Yeah." I mutter.
"Come on, lets chill out with the parents for a while before the party is over and I get you all to myself, tonight, I'm gonna make you scream my name till you can't nomore." He seductively whispers in my ear, a hand draped over my shoulder and I shiver in anticipation, please let the night come sooner.
