Chapter 230-2
Not A Small-Town Girl

Orion glanced between Howard,
Vivian, and Danielle, his expression
hardening. fSoul Venom allows the
caster tosontrol a personâs o
thoughts-and actions, turning them
into apuppet. Any resistance, even a
hintâof it, will cause the poison nto
punish the cursed person. {fthe
person keeps resisting, the poison
will slowly consume their heart."
Everyoneâs faces turned pale. "Puppet? Thatâs... they
actually dared?"
----
"I can break the curse, but thereâs a risk," Orion
continued, his voice solemn. "If the person who cast
the curse notices, they might trigger the poison and
kill them immediately."
âBest-case scenario: we catch the person who cursed
them. But if they die, your parents wonât survive
either."
Danielleâs eyes hardened with determination. She
wasnât just going to break the curseâshe was going
to use this to find the one who did this to them. But
right now, her parents were the priority.
She took out her phone and dialed a number.
âItâs me. Where is he now?"
âHeâs at a villa in the suburbs. Anything else you
need?"
Danielle was thinking quickly. If they only caught Judy,
Ivan would notice. She needed to get both of them,
and she would be the one to do it.
----
Keep an eye on them. Iâm on my way."
"Got it."
She hung up the phone and turned to Orion. "Orion,
Iâm going to go get them. Can you stay and watch
over my parents while Iâm gone? Make sure no one
does anything else while Iâm away."
Orion waved his hand dismissively. "No trouble at all.
You go ahead, Iâll stay here and watch."
âIâm coming with you," Elliot said quickly. "Ivan and
Judy have their own tricks up their sleeves. I donât
trust them."
----
Danielle nodded. "Okay, then you can come."
âIâm going too," David chimed in. "What if that evil
person tries to curse you too?"
The other brothers wanted to join but hesitated. They
werenât as skilled in combat and decided to stay
behind with Orion to watch over Howard and Vivian.
The group, got into their cars and
sped toward the villa in the subutbs.
Danielle drove with the precisiofrof a
racecar driver, weaving through
traffic as if the roads were hér own
personal racetrack.
----
Elliot clutched the seatbelt, his knuckles white. He
had to remind himself to breatheâDanielleâs driving
was like something out of an action movie.
David raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Danielleâs
driving is pretty good. Could she be...?"
Danielle noticed Elliot gripping the seatbelt and called
out to him, "Donât worry, Elliot. Iâm a safe driver."
Her reassurance only made things
worse. Elttot felt like he might as well
be sitiggin a jet instead of acar

----
âIâm not scared," Elliot said, trying to hide his
discomfort.
âNot scared?" David chuckled. "Then why are you
holding onto that seatbelt like your life depends on it?"
Elliot shot David a glare, silently wishing he would
mind his own business. "Iâm just... holding onto
something, alright?"
David smirked, "Thereâs nothing wrong with admitting
it. Weâre not going to laugh at you."
Danielle glanced at David and rolled her eyes,
amused. "Oh, please. David, youâre practically
begging for attention."
